Hello Crazy_Albino. Ive got 4 things to say

1. You look hot!

2. Try using WoW related graphics/animation on your website

3. Try formatting the layout of your images. Dont dump them on top of each other.

4. You look hot!

Aye, im beginning to like this game again. Not sure how long this will last (I hope never caus i like this game at this point :) )

Although this game isnt very much action packed from start, I hear all sorts of good things about Corp PvP. But you will need to get a good ship for that, and perhaps a good corp as well or u will end up

The good thing is, if I get bored with hunting pirates, i can always switch to manufacturing/mining, plus there is no grind, which is not a good thing if you are a powergamer. But, since im not - its great news

Greets. I have tried this game for free (14 days trial) and here is my overview:

Right from the start i was very disappointed for a simple reason: I didnt know what to do or even how to fly (besides the WARP TO and APPROACH). I spent some time wondering around, docking with the station, learning the GUI. I noticed immediately that my GUI was bugged - parts of it disappeared and then instantly reappeared ( have you seen a movie where they show a cheap hotel with a neon sign on top of it and one of the letters keeps blinking, fading in and out? that sort of effect). I managed to fix the bug but i did spend an hour or so trying to figure that out. At the end, i fixed the bug but i still have no idea how i did that. Anyway, back to the game... It was boring, mining, docking, learning blah blah. I didnt ask questions from people at first, i like to learn a game for myself. But, as i found it out, i needed help... and i got it. There are a lot of people ready to help you start off, so if you want to get into the game right away - ask questions! People typing in funny colors are volunteers, they help other rookies like myself to get to know the game.
I got lucky, a person named CyberRaver helped me out a LOT with advices, a new ship, 4 mil credits (Who wants to be a millionaire? its too easy to become one) , some skill and he showed me around how to mine, fight, fly, navigate, operate different devices, take missions and a lot more. So here is probably the most important advice to all you rookie pilots: GET HELP ASAP! Cause yer screwed meat otherwise!

Anyhow, life becuase easy, after all, 4 mils can buy a lot of freedom, booze, girls, booze, some more booze... But as it always is, easy life gets into you and you start to wonder "whats outside"? As did I. And I went outside. And it is very beautifull outside. Graphics are great, animation is smooth, ship detail is awesome! I have learned that this game is very deep... so deep that you can spend MONTHS trying to get somewhere. Thats one of the bad points. As a rookie pilot, I expected to be able to get into instant action ala Planetside. Tough chance! Random pirates at asteroid belts, sometimes they catch you at the warp gate. But basically its all the same. One fight never differs from the other. I know I know as an experienced player you might say "You havent seen even 1/1000000000 of the game!" but this is a guide for a rookie player with a crappy ship ( i loved that ship but people keep telling me it was crappy, must be the brown paint or somethin' ). This game has a long learning curve, u "learn learn and once more learn" - as Vladimir Lenin said. At the same time, there isnt much going on in space. Sure, I hear all the rumors about PvP and fleets of dozens and more ships attacking but I never saw that and probably wouldnt for a few months (it took me 2 hours to be able to get to level 2 ship command, it would take me 2.5 days to get to level 3 and im guessing around a month to get to level 4, and thats where u want to be in order to be able to use the BIG ships. Im not talking about all otehr skills like gunnery (ud basically have a pee-shooter on a big-kickass ship), electronics or whatever. I never leveled any of those cuase i spent all my time leveling that ship control or whatever its called.
Anyways, If i could summarize this game from a rookie point view, who probably missed 90% of all the fun in this game, then I would say: "This game looks great, is very deep,is hard to master and is pretty boring for a couple of months". I think if you can get through the "rookie" stage, this game is great. Ive seen some of the PvP videos from the official site and they look great! But to spend months and months of time just getting there... its not for me. I like to be flexible and I always follow my mood... If i wanna fight, i fight, if i wanna mine I mine, and if i wanna just fly around the asteroid, shooting space squirrels then i wanna do that. Unfortunately, Eve cannot provide that flexibility. Takes too long. But its worth a try! After all, its FREE for 14 days!

Aye thnx for the post. You asnwered some of my questions. I still dont understand one of the aspects of this game: When you say " if your moving from side to side from him (contrarely to straight at him)" how can i do that? In my experience, all I could do to force my ship to move is: a) warp b) Approach c) Orbit
I noticed there is a cruise control so I thinkn i cna move my ship freely in a straight line, but I dont know how to "strafe" or move it to the left or right.. Am I missing something?
Thanks

Since i dont have effective control of my ship per se, i cant fly at crazy speeds avoiding enemy missiles like in most scifi space sims, how can i avoid battle cruiser fire?

I am not sure where i saw the "slow down leveling" post, might of been another player made rant. Even if they dont slow it down, sure its gonna take much less time to level to max level, but thats not the point of this game (nor any other). U cant "beat" this game by leveling to max. U explore, mine, craft, engage others in PvP, if you get bored, make another char, do the same with that new char.
But im betting 10 gold pieces that they are going to slow down level speed a bit, not as slow as EQ and not as fast as it is now. They are going to balance things out. I believe in them ::::08::

Yah thats the one, he dropped a nice dagger (8dps compared to my crafted 5ish DPS)
I almost leveled my smithing to be able to make 8DPSish dagger as well, would of been nice if stress test lasted more for me to try out that dagger. Also, there is a chance that you get your hands on a formula that would let u (if u can) make a pretty much unique weapon/armor piece. So I wouldnt worry about items, there are plenty of them and Im sure they will keep adding them to reward hardcore players stand out from the rest of us sheep

I think 2 people already stated that level speed was quickened only for beta. Level speed will be lowered at the release, by how much i do not know. I estimate it would take u 2-3 months to level to 60, at which time its easy to raise the level cap few points higher. Most of the information i provided in my posts were my suggestions. That doesnt meant that they are true or that blizzard approved it. I am only giving a logical suggestion as of how to solve problems you stated.
And I wouldnt pay attention to all those people talking how they cant find armor and daggers. I played a gnome rogue and i had no problems finding items. Sure many people at my level had better stuff, but hey, I am a casual player, i dont play a lot ( i got my rogue to level 16 only) and yet i managed to get few rare items (a good dagger of a named bear Ol' something). All those rumbling is simply what it is...rumbling. Pay no attention to it because there will always be someone unhappy with items or lack of them. If you know where to search, you will find what you are looking for.

Here are a few links to answer your graphics question. I made these during early beta, so some moves or graphics may have changed (for better i hope)

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Rename all those ZIP files to RAR then extract. There should be 5 AVI files there. You cna play them if you have DIVX codex.

Tombs, i think u r taking this to extremes. Powergamers will always be better then casual gamers (at least with the number of quality/rare items) so you wont be discouraged not to spend time into this game. Most casual gamers will simply have quested armor/weapons or common droped armor/weapons with occasionally rare item that they were lucky to loot of a common mob. Power gamers will have a lot more of those rare items becuase they spend much more time hunting/questing. And since they will level faster, they will get to raid content much faster as well.
The point that you have missed is that casual players should have a freedom to NOT spend a lot of time into this game. They CAN get to max level, they CAN theoretically get good/rare items. Blizzard doesnt want to follow EQ where you HAD to invest 5-8 hours daily in order to get to top levels and get top gear. The difference is in my opinion in speed and chances. Power gamers get better items faster and more often. So basically you ARE being rewarded for the time spent. In 1 month of game play u r level lets say 40 with some good items while some other casual gamer is level 20-30 with common gear. I believe i answered that issue.

On the honor issue. I believe that is easily solved as well. Since a level 60 will get honor from killing level 53+ then in order to be a honor mule biotch the other side would have to make an alt and level it to 53. I dont believe this is a tangible option to invest so much time just to give u few honor points, and even if someone would of done that, its easily fixable - simply make a counter on a char, when they get killed, u losoe a portion of honor, once u reach zero, u neither loose more nor give honor points. Thus, no more honor mules.

If you are level 60 and you attack Alliance town that is being defended by level 50, then all you got to do is attack the guards. If the level 50 attacks u, u can retaliate without honor penalty (youve got a right to defened yourself). If they do not, u win by default by slaying the town guards and capturing the city (i havent gotten that far so I dont know if its possible to capture a town in the first place). So basically my suggestion would be, if someone who would give u negative honor if ud kill them does not interfere with your assault - then you win by default.

I believe i answered alll your issues in the last few posts. Most of the issues at the beginning were answered by weapon-x. You had some valid questions/issues, but somewhere in the middle of the post things got heated up and you and weapon-x ended up at each others throats. Please calm down and think this as an adults (I am assuming both of you are adults).
Taking aside all the unpleasantries, I think we have answered all the problems you have mentuned in this post. Please feel free to post more of your concerns and hopefully people will join us in our discussion and maybe even blizzard will read through this and act on one of more of our sugestions.

Its good to know that there is more to a game then mining. I havent gotten to the part of fighting. I played this in beta, i played this for 2 months after release and i tried to play this on 2 or 3 occasions when I could play for free. I never took part in big battles, i like trade skills more then fighting. I am not sure but its hard to believe that a noob can actually attack a big ship, dont i need bigger guns or something? and wont i get killed with 1 shot from the big ship?

I agree with Weapon, he answered most of Tombs questions. I would like to add about itemization.
Even at level 10-16 people will NOT be the same. Ive inspected too many rogues and MOST of them had at least half of their items different then mine. Sure, if all you do is do questing and wear those items, then you will look the same. Thats what most casual players look. But, if you are a power gamer as you claim to be, then be assured you WILL have a different gear then other people. I am a casual player, i must work all day and I can play only for a few hours in the evening, and still I managed to get gear that not everyone had from some mobs that arent often hunted, from named mobs (yes there are named mobs that drop some cool stuff) AND from crafting. Here is even more, some quests (not everyone is allowed to take them because of their class/race/trade skill) result in formulas that will allow u to make pretty much "unique" (unique in a sense that not many people can make that) items. For example I looted of a mob once a formula for chest piece of a plate armor that nobody had or heard of, nad untill someone else loots the same mine will be the only copy, this making it pretty rare (unless i start making hundreds of them per hour). And there are many formulas like that.
With talent points people are gonna be even more divers, so you shouldnt worry about looking the same as everyone else, there are plenty of items and skills to make u stand aside from the crowd.
I believe all your other concerns were answered (mostly by weapon). And please dont get mad for a bit of criticism.

I disagree, this game is very bad because it requres too much time to invest, its too monotone, its too hard to start.

Karazaan said it - takes 13 days to get to know it. Thats in my opinion way way too much time to just know whats going on in a game.
"-Training system give equal chance to powergamer and those that have only 2 hours a day to play (because you train online or not...)" not true... People who played this game from start are in a huge advantage. Basically, you cant catch them unless u keep playing for a long time (a year or two, depends how long they played) and that person must stop playing. If someone has been playing 1 year non stop, it will take you a year to reach that person ONLY if that person stopped playing. If not, you will always be one year behind that person.

"Everyone in the same universe, and no safe place if you are at war with someone, so you could find him (the place IS HUGE but still) and blow up him... yet bring some friends with you and he will probably have some with him.... Yet, you don't have to be afraid, in starter corp, no risk of war at all, so you are protected if you stay in 0.5 and above system..."
I cant comment much on this becuase I didnt play this game long enough to get into PvP, but I heard that people tend to camp warpgates and kill other people for fun. So it "might" be a problem, i dont know for sure.

"-New contents added for free, including some content that change radically the way the game is working, so you cannot know everything and be a GOD with high level and the ultimate weapon..."
This kinda doesnt make much sense. From my experience content was being added very very slowly. They didnt even fix critical bugs fast enough (bug with manufacturing, when I couldnt buy a slot becuase all slots on all bases were taken).. Its true though, if u have good equipment, u cant be very powerfull, but only if you have played this game for a long long time. Becuase at high levels, it takes a month (real life) to level a skill.

"-The way the game is made, it seem to attract more mature players... so I see more people above 25 than below... yet we all have fun regardless of age."
Dont know, people seemed to be nice when I was playing, I heard a lot of bad things about warpgate campers but I never encountered one, nor have i had any trouble with a person in Eve.

"-It's no FPS, so strategy is first, then action. Not the other way around"
True. I must add however, that for a new user this will be a very painfull process becuase GUI is pretty hard (too much stuff, too hard to control, too much to remember).

"-Not a big corp pumping expansion each 4 months to get more cash."
Thats actually a negative side. Since they arent earning a lot of money with this game or would they earn with pay expansions, they arent making them as often. Since the release of the game, the expansion that is coming out going to be what, first or second? (plz correct me if i am wrong, i havent been really paying attention to Eve in all these years)

"-And best of all, you can do what you want, play as you want, there is NO required path, some traders make millions without firing a single rounds, and fighters don't have to touch a mining laser of all their life... it's choice, so much choice in fact that you might not know what to do or what can be done, so starting freelance should do agent missions (to know a smal part of what CAN be done) or join an existing corp that will have views and some thing to accomplish, be it building ship or blowing some. There is always choices..."
This is true. There is no roleplaying per se, nor is there somekind of plot to follow (at least i never saw one). U can do pretty much what u want, and there is so much different things that u can do (but take so much time to acomplish) that I gave up at the beginning.

To summarize this game:
Good things:
Its big, HUGE really (in size ), there is some content (maybe a lot at higher levels, not sure), Freedom to do what u want, good graphics/music, complex economy
Bad things:
Very hard to start, a big time-sink, you will never be "THE FIRST" unless people above u stop playing and u keep playing for as long as they have (could be a few real life years), a lot grinding (mining...mining...mining...more mining...mining...mininig...more mining!!!)

Its worth a try for free, so u can see for yourself whether this is the game for u or not.

Ive had a similar issue with a different game - Planetside. I was getting timeout at a certain place, although i was able to connect and play with a big lag and packetloss.
In my experience, that issues IS caused by your ISP. I fixed my problem by switching from cable to DSL - I needed to do that for other reasons. You, however, may not have that luxury and may not be able to play this game at all.
Contacting your ISP CS didnt help me much becuase they kept blaming planetside server for the packetloss, and planetside CS blamed my ISP for it. I still dont know what caused it but the fact is - changing ISPs fixed my packetloss.
Hope this helps.
