Well I know they said dyes for armors were gonna get pretty crazy like all kinds of dif colors. But the trophy system is BIG all kinds of dif places to put them to customize your guy. Also I think they are going to have mount customization last I heard.

They are saying how it works is you pay $5 for the early access but I think you get 10 extra days of game time if I am not mistaken. On the 14th you can DL the game from the website and yes you will be given a code for this by whomever you ordered from. What I am thinking is you use your $5 to play for those early days and you get 10 days of time out of it this is so it gives you time to get your game in the mail and add it to your account. I assume the folks who do not add the game before the time and use the code will not get to play after that time period. So you DL the game starting on the 14th and start play on the 17th then you have 10 days to add your normal game code to your account to get your normal 30 days and keep on playing.

Not sure if anyone has ordered from the EAstore but I did at first and canceled and went with Amazon. But I had asked when the codes would go out and was told today that they will be sending codes out via email starting early April.

Thats what I was thinking but wondering if there open beta will be for everyone? I know I heard WAR's will only be for the chosen folks and the CE people.

Is there any info yet on when Open Beta starts? Or would it probably be the first or so of May?

You might not enjoy WoW, But there are lots of people who do. What you have been saying is what we have been hearing for over  3 years. I don't see any reason why this would be different.

 

/agree I loved WOW the time I was in it but for me it was time to move on and find something new. I wasn't getting as much enjoyment anymore so I left while I still liked the game. I made alot of friends there over there years I formed friendships that have been going on for 3 years now.

Wow lucky I been signed up for beta since they announced it lol. I still have hope I have followed the games for years and buy most of the games based on the Warhammer universe I love 40k :). I got the books to collect more then anything I bought both sets for the 2 covers I think it is 5 issues? But a chance to try the beta and get a little glimpse and some input would really make my day. I ordered the CE so I know I am in open beta as my code is added lol. I just hope it turns out to be a great game I can enjoy for along time.

 

As for the comics I think they look nice. But there will be people buying multiples and just tossing them out once they put there codes in lol.

I don't think you will be disappointed and good job on getting a CE while you still can ^^.

lol I was waiting at 10 am when it was announced since i have no game stores in my area I know alot of folks got wind of it early. But I was on Amazon as soon as it came up and loaded that morning lol. But still hoping for an open beta chance I do not apply to alot of beta's only ones I really have a general interest in taking my time to help make better so it would be something I would wanna spend my time doing.

I am sad it was pushed back but I was getting both games anyway and see which one appealed to me more. Though WAR has been on my list since it was announced and then cancelled and then announced again lol.

As everyone has said LOTRO did this and some people liked the idea. But it would end up hurting them more in the long run. LOTRO had the special for founders which was a decent deal and by now it would have almost paid for itself. But myself probably wouldn't pay that much upfront as I never know what could happen and if I would be into the game that long. Even though I love it now and I paid $300 I could drop it in a year and never come back and I would have lost some cash. I like paying per month or a few months at a time.

I played WOW since open beta and I enjoyed myself. Yes I have alot of time on my hands and could devote time for raiding and such. I pvp'd at first when it came out and it was sorta fun with all the town raids and all this. But it did get boring for me after the years. I cannot complain I got my moneys worth from the game and I enjoyed myself no game has yet brought me that feeling I have since left WOW and I am playing LOTRO now. It doesn't give me that feeling and I already have 2 level 50's on there. WOW kinda spoiled me like it others. I did play other games back before WOW and also during WOW. Its simple to get into and fun to play when you start out. But as you said end game is very time consuming and not meant for the casual player.

I have my faith in AOC and WAR I think. I wanna get more into PVP and have something different. LOTRO is kind of the same old with not much end game content as of yet to enjoy. Right now I am taking what comes along until another game really grabs me and gets me consumed again. I do not wanna see the downfall of WOW really but it will run its course and people will lose focus eventually. But right now I do not see it happening for awhile. I hear people say blah blah will be a Wow killer. I just want companies to make great games that we can enjoy everyone wants something different and the people in WOW enjoy it the people who aren't do not. So do as I am see what comes along and when that next GREAT game hits and it gets 10 million customers it will be the same thing as WOW. So go with the great games coming out do not worry about killing off another franchise and let the game whatever it may be speak for itself and create its own huge customer base :).

It's also a possibility that people hve overly purchased these comics to sell for $300 on ebay (if there are idiots buying beta codes for $300-600, there will be idiots buying the comic for that much to).

 

On another note, the chances of a person getting into beta currently was what .09%, I think I seen around here somwhere (you have a better chance of gaining powers from Kryptonite then getting in). Now it's a 1 out of 5 chance to get into beta (20% they say), say you have 100k people with the same comic book putting in the codes that's what chance or percentage then?  Again, you have a better chance of finding Jesus's bones in Anartica than getting in beta with that comic book.

I agree I have bought a few of these myself. And I am a big fan of the game and series. The beta chance is a bonus but not the only reason I bought this one. But I am sure some of these will end up on Ebay closer to the date to have them in by and people paying out the butt for a chance to get into beta.

I got this from them since I ordered the book. Looks like it is selling quite a few copies and it let's everyone know they will ship these the first week of May.

You have it ready for open beta. From what  I hear they are going to have to be choosey on open beta also since so many people have applied. So getting the CE will be your spot in. If not you will have to get invited in just like the closed beta.

Not sure if anyone has did this but I added this code to my account. So that is awesome :) it only says Amazon Collectors Edition Pre-Order but thats cool.

Really? The only thing I ordered from Amazon was a Pokemon game or something and it actually arrived almost 2 weeks early somehow. I ordered normal stuff from Amazon all the time and have had nothing but good things. And I have gotten plenty from ebgames and such with them if you order next day normally they send out ahead of time and you have the game on street date.

Actually thanks I went with Amazon also. I did 2 pre-orders but I am going to cancel the EAstore one now just got my codes on Amazon thanks for the heads up.

Also don't know if you saw that or not but the beta has a June 10 exp date.
