Is this because the server cant swalow the amount of players coming suddenly ?
I disabled my firescanner and firewall and tryed to log in for like 30 times... no go ><

Anyone has the same problem ?

No you don't. When you take your char from Prophecies to the next campaign, you will land in the level 20 area. Mobs are level 17 and up. You CAN travel back to earlier parts of the game however, if you choose to. Btw, the biggest chunk of content in Prophecies is for when you're level 20. The game isn't about levels at all.

As for missing out: the newbie area is nothing more than a huge tutorial to get you to level 20. The biggest chunk of content of of any expansion is for level 20 chars. Prophecies takes the most time to get to 20. Learning curve is very slow there.

Also, you can always make a new char in every new campaign to see the newbie area. Or you can, since you have finished Prophecies, go to the newbie area of the next campaign with your level 20 char and enter so called 'Hard Mode'. It turns all the level 2, 3 etc mobs into level 20+. To enter Hard Mode you need to have finsihed at least one of the campaigns with that particular char.

 The game has changed a lot in 2 years, btw.

I know its not about lvl at all, btw in prophecies you have done a big part before you hit lvl 20 imo. ( got 3x lvl 20 myself) so was affraid it was the same in the addons.

Gonna return afther 2 years ( just tryed other mmorpgs ) and was wondering somthing. I wanna buy the addons ( only have first part prophecies ) but want to follow the main storyline (love PvE) so first prophecies, then factions then Nightfall.

Like some have sayed, you really could point out the blind wow (or simular) players. I have seen alot of these discussions ( GW vs WoW anyone ? :P ) and I am tired of the trashtalking without giving a possible solution or just telling for example that PvE sucks -_-

Damn, almost went in discussion there :P *holding himself* GW has great PvE and PvP but just not the look-at-my-ubah-killer-2Hweapon-grinded-months-f*cking-rep-takes-ages kinda experience.

I got alot of respect for Arena, only the fact its free a month for such PvP and PvE... name 1 game that has that... but this is a endless discussion I am affraid. :) maybe we are spoiled like hell, not sure but we rather wanna break ( not the same as pointing and discussing faults of ) a game then to enjoy it.

To say it simple: Dont like a game and just pissed at every aspect of it ? Just take these 2 words seriously and you will be fine.....................................................F*CK OFF

Just wondering if there has been added alot of content in the form of weapons / armor / items ?
Because in the beginning of guildwars was there really not much to choose from, even the ubah armors didnt have a different skin :P ( I know looooooooooong time ago  )

I just love 2H axes and I wondered if it it possible to be a dmg dealer rather then been stuck in the ethernal role of tank :)

( dont misunderstand me, I love tanking, 2 years arms/prot in wow exp )

Is there alot of choise between armor / weapons ?

You don't need to beat prophecies to campaign to do GW:EN stuff...you don't even need to own the prophecies campaign to access GW:EN. You just have to own one of the three current campaigns and you are good.

 

As for the OP, yes heroes definitely killed many aspects of the game. All missions in Guild Wars can be done with 3 heroes in your party and 4 henchies, on normal mode. However, you do need to be a decent player with some understanding of which skills suck and which ones are good, and you also need to have quite a few skills unlocked for other profs so your heroes can use them. Personally for me, I find that most of the time I do better with heroes/henchies then actual players.

 

And thats what I am really affraid of :S
GW is / was a teamgame ( real life players that is ) and if I take your word, you can now choose between a group of newbs,noobs,lamers,afk's or heroes with henchmen

I played Guildwars since the beta ( long ago before the addons came out ) and I want to buy the addons and start playing again. I love the grafics and gameplay. ( only that you cant jump is kinda lame :P , I know the technical explanation ;) )

Only the thing that you can add NPC heroes to your team, I am affraid it causes to much solo play :S ( just you and 5 heroes *sigh )
I loved doing quests with nice players and chatting while we killed mobs )

Is my vision wrong ? If so, plz say why?

Plu, your comment brought me an idea.
I created chars in beta also, thing is, they are already deleted and got only my warrior and ele ( who were made in profecies )

I fear, all my stuff on those char are deleted but I am not sure because I cant log ingame ( I can login until char screen like you can see )

Maybe if I delete my chars I can do stuff again like, create chars and log ingame.... but I still got 2 char spots free so that cant be the problem.

I already contacted playNC personally, they are working on it ( I must say I got very positieve experience with the GMs ingame and outgame ( COV ) )

So I think I can only pray :(

Never told anyone my cdkey, I am ict student, so my computer is perfectly sealed against any virus, keylogger, cookie, truck ( ok maybe not the last one :P )

Never had a warning of abuse or somthing like it.

Maybe the fact the I took part of the beta of the first addon srewed my account up, it was all still pre playNC

P.S. got only 1 serial entered long ago of GW profecies ( ignore spelling )

Well thing is that BC just made the most items worthless when ya raided for so long. I can understand that. But more bad are that many good instances are forgotten 4 ever. Anyone MC or ZG ( ok maybe a little played ) and NAX is a waste of time post BC.

I dont get it, why cant they just give more instance / content without screwing every item ? Like that the new items are only a tiny bit better or that you can upgrade your T1 / T2 armor...

I am also very interessted in the hero class. But thats also the only thing that would me start playing wow again... I just wait on age of conan :D ( release 30 august !!!!! ) waiting like  5 months on it :D

Did ya ever needed to connect your playNC account with your guildwars account ?

I played for like 6 months from the very start of guildwars. ( so no addons ). PlayNC wasnt yet with guildwars and this is where all the trouble starts. I wanted to reactivated my guildwars account yesterday. I can log ingame till the char screen but then I get a nice warning in red that I am not allowed to play. Then I can click on the store to buy guildwars, so I am more then pissed atm. I wrote helpdesk guildwars and I really hope on a explanation !

I got also a playNC account with CoV. But I cant add guildwars.... he says that the key is already in use ( what is logical because it was pre playNC )

I now wanna buy the other addons but have to wait now ><

Anyone has the same problem with a pre playNC guildwars account ?
