Realm pride... you gotta love that. Also for bragging rights. You can use the Tome of Knowledge to show off how many Dwarves or Greenskins you've slaughtered. There's also titles if I'm not mistaken. But in the end, it's all about the FUN. Rewards are just a bonus

Huh? Where in that article does it say that WAR's rating is E? It only said E for All Expo... Sounds like an event. Am i missing something here?

We are talking about pve zones here not pvp zones turning ppl into chickens.

When u enter the zone u are pvp flagged doesnt mean other ppl are also pvp flagged.  They can turn them on when they see they got a chance to jump u later while u are pulling a mob or doing something else.

How is this WAR when u see ur enemy standing next to u and u cant attack them but they just keep doing stupid emotes at u?  guess u are the carebear type who dont care about this kind of stuff huh?

Um... that's why they have RvR areas in each zone where you are always flagged... wth are you complaining about? And in T4 zones most of the map is made up of RvR areas.

I'm not involved in beta so I was curious, how exactly does WAR differ from WoW.  And I don't want the links to the WAR videos either because I've watched them all.

What i'm specifically asking is, how is the exp system any different from any other MMORPG?  Isn't it just a long grind like WoW?

The PvP system seems to be sort of like WoWs as well.  That is, you can only pvp in certain zones, which is kind of a lousy idea imo.  If any of you played any real pvp games, you would know they usually have all zones open to PvP and people usually fight each other over control of certain zones that contain raid NPCS.  It doesn't seem that fun to kill the same player over and over in some zone specifically designed to be used as a pvp zone, it is just too artificial.

Also, is it like the WoW pvp system where you die every 30 seconds to minute and respawn at a GY 15 seconds later only to come back and attack them?  That kind of stuff really makes pvp pointless as no one cares about dying because there is practically no loss.

Ok this post made me laugh cuz you are basically asking if the PvP in WAR is literally the EXACT same thing as WoW. lol well other then the fact that they both involve killing other players, no, they have almost nothing in common. You see in WoW PvP had no purpose. You did it so u could help yourself, no one else. Honestly I would just let people die sometimes if I knew the battle would be lost anyways lol. In WAR there is a purpose. Actually the deciding factor of your realm's success depends on how much determination you have during both PvP and PvE. Because when you kill that other player, you have the satisfaction of knowing that you are that much closer to beating the crap out of the enemy's city, which in the end is the ultamite prize. I could go on for a while on how much WoW sucks but I'm sure no one wants to hear that again. If you actually watch and PAY ATTENTION to the podcasts there is no way you would be left with the observations you made. So please watch them again. There's a couple that explain the RvR system.

Oh man the thought of that happening brings tears to my eyes. If WAR doesn't work out like I'm expecting it to, I'm done with MMO's..... atleast for a while.

I really only see it being the year of WAR and AoC. Don't think any other game will be a huge hit. But of course I could be wrong.

I think that one, if not both, of these games will be the next major MMO(s) on the market. I'm almost certain that you'll see their populations rise to the millions not too long after release.

After those ones die out, Warhammer 40K will be looking saaweeet!

Well said. I agree 100%. The minds of the young individuals who play WoW are still very fragile... which is probably why they're so ignorant.

Btw i like your comparison with the blue and red car lol.

Honestly, I was ready to give up MMO's until I saw WAR. So i can't really choose cuz i probably would'nt have been interested in any of them.

Yeah I guess it wasn't as informative as the other ones but that's probably because so much info is always being released that there just wasn't much to talk about. Oh well just wait a couple more days and I'm sure something new will come.

RvR and PvP have the same general idea, they both involve you going out and killing other players. However RvR consists of you going out, killing people, and at the same time helping out your entire realm, instead of just yourself.  It's kinda hard to explain. I suggest you watch the podcats on RvR. They would really help.

Thanks

Well, if they don't, Paul is going to kill Jeff, lol.

But seriously I think they can meet their deadline. The game looks almost complete to me. With the exception of maybe some of the elf stuff and some final tweeking it look like it's almost ready for the public. Some of the bugs that are apparent right now usually get fixed soon after release in the patches so no worries there. Besides, the chance of them releasing an absolutely perfect game with no bugs is next to impossible.

If for whatever reason it is pushed back, I have no problem with it, as long as it is for the greater good.

You know what, I've grown so tired of these questions now that I'm just gonna say don't play if you think it looks like WoW.

Well Order and Destruction both have their own languages so you won't be able to understand what the opposite faction is saying, just like in WoW. As for specific race languages, I'm not sure. My guess is they won't, only because it's not really needed.

Boy Warboi's are out in force today. Pissed their game lost to AoC twice over I guess. It's not even worth posting stuff like this on here Avery. Warboi's that infest this forum would rip anything you post on here to pieces, as this thread clearly shows. Just stick with the official forums. Were at least even the complaint posts are constructive. I'd advise the Warboi's to do the same but, Mythic is to chicken shit to have their own forums, so they have to come here to work their frustrations out.

Dude, Fion, I feel like swearing at you but I can't cuz then I'll get banned so I will remain calm. But can you honestly take a break and stop typing for about 5 min. Everywhere I go I see your name plastered on the forums and I don't even have to read what you posted anymore, cuz somewhere in there you'll say something bad about WAR. Always, something about WAR. "So what did you have for breakfast this morning?" "You know city sieges are stupid cuz they might be instanced hahahahahaha! Warhammer is for losers hahaha!" STOP. For the love of God pls stop, it is very annoying... I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed this. You don't like WAR, I get it, everyone gets it! Keep your hands in your pockets and don't type anymore of this garbage. And calling Mythic chicken shit is not gonna solve anything either, it just makes you look pathetic.

Btw, nice word, Warboi, what does that make you? Aocboi? No that doesn't sound right... let's just call you Conan's boi

Lol Conan's boi, I like that one. But seriously, what did I say about WAR in that post? Did I flame WAR? Did I bash WAR? No.. I bashed Mythic, for not in all these years having an official forum and their only excuse being 'we really don't see the need.' I was there in the early days of DAoC, when they heavily posted on the VNboards, and how the players were constantly bitching and flaming them on those boards to the point where they left, completely disassociated themselves, and started having community updates on the Herald instead.

Personally, from my point of view, as a long time DAoC player, they got sick of the ranting (instead of fixing the reasons behind it,) so they left. And to this day they won't open an official forum. 'We just don't see the need' pffft. Thats BS, and they know it. Official forums are INTEGRAL for a MMOGs community, it brings them together, gives the community a place to discuss the game, likes and dislikes, and express, en mass, what they think needs changed or improved. Of course theres gonna be some flaming, trolling, just plain b*tching. That comes with the territory, especially with DAoC, considering Mythics fondness for the nerf-bat in that game lol. But to just shrug off such an important community tool because you don't want to hear it anymore, thats chicken shit. Sorry, it just is.

Oh and, any time you hear me put WAR in a negative light, it's generally in a discussion about something I am unhappy about. The direction of it's PvP for example. But at the same time, I make a good number of positive posts about the game as well. In this forum, I can get a little ah.. 'bashy' lol. But thats generally when war fanboi's have come out of the woodwork to bash a game needlessly. But I suppose, this website being the ass end of the MMOG community, I should know better.

Have you actually been to the fansites. They can be just as good as an official forum. They're helpful and informative and sometimes you see devs posting there. Plus there's the WAR herald, another great way to get info. So I don't see what the problem is. Official forums bring people together? Hardly, they tear people apart even more. You may not see it now since the games haven't launched yet but give it time. Not having an official forum does not at all make or break a game, in fact over half the population probably doesn't even post on them. You go there ask a question, it gets answered and your done, you start playing again. That's all it's good for. I don't blame them for not wanting to make one. Maybe they forsaw the future and imagined alot of the immature WoW kiddies coming over to WAR so they decided to hold off on the official forums, who knows.

This issue will not harm the game's success in any way. I just do not see how it possibly could. As long as they have fansites and Mythic listen's to customer complaints and suggestions it'll do great.

Btw, you do bash WAR, but in a sneaky way. You start your post with a thought, then you go to a complaint, and then sometimes you say something positive out of the blue, just to hide your negative comment. You look like your just trolling the forums all the time looking for something to say that will piss people off. If that was your goal, you succeeded, and you should stop now. After all, these are just games. Go debate on world issues...global warming for example, people might actually enjoy your complaints.
