Yes, just as many others before me stated, it's gonna happen, so don't take it as a shock. It happens in every game that has a level-based system. But as long as people continue to make alts, which I'm sure will happen with 24 classes, then hopefully it won't become too big of an issue.

Actually I did read once that they were thinking of implementing a feature where you can turn off your xp gain, so that if you can wait for your buddies to catch up to your lvl or maybe make a twink or something. Not sure though. I would kinda like that idea.

It's not stupid. I'm not sure if you read the whole thing or not but they said that each character will have 11 slots to choose from when placing the trophy on yourself, and you can only equip 5. Plus they said there's hundreds of different trophies to earn. So not only will all players have different trophies to show for, but they will be in different spots, making a wide variation of customization. I don't think that sounds stupid, I think it's something to look forward to.

If you haven't read the article yet it's here www.warherald.com/news/, second one from the top. Has some new info on the trophy system as well

So will this game provide play ownable space which will allow Guild/Clan/Alliance/Corps/Players to launch attacks from....

WAR is built on the Realm vs. Realm model.

If you are looking for Guild warfare, you would probably want to be looking at Age of Conan.

But thanks for stopping by.

what is the Realm vs Realm model?

Essentially, it's PvP with a bit of a kick. It's focused around the armies of Destruction vs. the armies of Order, which during things like city sieges will turn out to be large numbers. Hundreds vs. hundreds, for example. Basically, when you engage in any form of RvR, you are helping your Realm gain victory points. This is why it is called Realm vs. Realm, everything you do benefits your entire faction, rather then just you. So, if you so happen to play WAR, expect there to be alot more group PvP, rather then 1 vs. 1 (which btw can still happen, just probably not very often). By my understanding, that's what RvR means. I suggest you watch the podcasts on RvR, it would explain it in much more detail.

It's amazing what a little reading can do ain't it? I only wish other people were to do the same thing.

Yea i agree with what you said Rhoklaw but honestly all this talk about 'this and this game will kill WoW' is garbage. No game can and ever will kill WoW. It's nearly impossible. The way I see it is there is only two ways to potentially kill WoW. 1. Blizzard does something incredibly stupid and absolutely destroys their masterpeice, or 2. It becomes outdated and boring. I think that WAR will take a fair portion of WoW's subs, but obviously it won't kill it, people who think that are just being ignorant. I can see 1,2 maybe even 3 million people playing WAR, but 9+ is highly unlikely.

But hey, is probably better if the hardcore PvE raiders didn't come anyways, they might end up forcing Mythic to do things they shouldn't be doing

Toyota commercials? In three years there's gonna be school's named after it and students will learn about its great legend in class from a teacher who is /following his friend while he beats stunties over the head. That's where its gonna be in 3 years.

Just because you don't know the details does NOT mean someone else doesn't know what they are talking about.

And yea, I can hear EA now -  'hey Mythic, your doing such a great job and we think your game is gonna blow WoW away, so instead of releasing it to do so, were gonna spend another massive chunk of money to delay your game so you can really stick it to Blizzard! Just be sure that when people ask why, not to hint that we're so hugely confident, just say that you've missed some target dates and need more time. They won't ever realize the truth!'

Actually believing that swill has fanboi written all over it.

First of all they have said numerous times, Q2 2008. That is April, May, June. Second of all I never understood why you come here from time to time and spread some of your hate for Mythic all over these forums. I can detect your hidden messages now after reading so many of your posts about WAR. You try to make make yourself sound like your being nice and interested, but I see past your little scheme. I think it's time you have a nap so you can come back in a week with another pointless post about the downfall of WAR. Go on...

I never really had a problem with add-ons, but you're right about the macro's, I hate them. I hope they don't have them in WAR, and I'd be willing to bet that they won't. Add-ons are fine as long as they don't go overboard like 'that other game' did.

I truly believe that too. And I'm not just saying that... The devs really seem to be taking in to consideration what the beta testers commented on, and that is definitely a very good sign. Man I'm so excited for the re-opening of the beta.

Meh, kinda saw that soming anyways so not that surprising to me. If it means that WAR will be even better then I'll continue to wait. Atleast now I don't have to worry about my grades dropping in early second semester lol, they'll just have to wait until the end i guess

And who ever said that every single WAR fan is looking for something new and innovative. I defenitely think that WAR will have content that no one has ever seen, or atleast that has never been done right. But just as a couple other people already stated, many WAR fans are looking for something "fun". If it's fun, why wouldn't you play? Isn't that the entire point of MMO's, and games in general? The way I see it is that if it "feels" like WoW, then that is a huge accomplishment. WoW felt great while you were playing, whether or not you liked the game is a different story. I'd be happy if WAR "felt" like WoW, whats the big deal? As long as I don't feel as if I have a part-time job within the game, and I get to smash heads in, I'm sold.

Three possible fronts? What do you mean by that? They already stated that there will be over 40 different scenarios, over 30 different maps with RvR zones, as well as 6 different cities... Plus all the open world objectives and villages available to capture. Correct me if I'm wrong but that might be a little bit more than 3 fronts...

Before I respnd to your concern I have a question to ask you. How on earth could you possibly know that information? The game is linear? So I assume you got into the beta? I really do not understand how so many people come up with these impossible conclusions that hardly make any sense whatsoever...

Omg, every single day I come here there's a new thread about WAR vs. WoW.  Like for heaven's sake, this is a really stupid question. You are either gonna like it or not like it... If you think it's better then WoW, that's great, keep playing. If you don't then move aside and make room for people who are actually interested. But honestly, this has got to stop. And I'm sure I speak for a fair amount of people when I say that. So instead of asking other people why they think it's better, why don't you make your OWN decisions and decide that for YOURSELF!

Man I wrote that in like 30 seconds...I'm getting good at this

Well, I guess it would probably get better later on, which is why im trying to decide whether I should subscribe to this game to give it some more time to show itself. And with this new patch, I'm sure things got a bit more intersting. I think I'll use the few hours I have left on my trial and see if it's worth it.

Ok I just finished playing the trial for LOTRO. It's a pretty decent game. Enjoyable for the most part, and can be somewhat addictive. But honestly, after about the third day playing I started to question the entire concept of this game. I mean, is it just me or does this game feel like one gigantic QUEST. It's just quest after quest after quest. Nothing but quests. Some of these quests were indeed fun, but it does not even come close to the amount of pointless ones. I'd say about half the quests in the game involve you talking to 5-10 people before they finally set you our on a hunt or something. It just gets extremely annoying after a while. "OMG this next person is gonna give me this awsome axe! Oh... go talk to Lily Underhill... /sigh..." And the worst part is, leveling your character without doing quests is boooooooring.

So anyways, did anyone get this same feeling while you were playing this game? Because I actually like the game and I think it has some great potential, but yea... quests...

Actually what I heard was that if you can run WoW on medium settings without any problems then you will be able to run WAR on atleast low settings without any problems as well (not 100% sure about this). But then again, it only takes a half decent computer to run WoW on full graphics. If your computer can handle that, then you'll definitely be fine.
