Now, normally I'd just poke fun at them then forget about them, but I'm seeing some things here in their website that might turn them into something I'd like to look at.. 1- They're not Korean.. That itself makes me happy. Every Korean game I've ever played is a grindfest with horrible gameplay and not even a nod in Craftsmen's direction. (Not to mention the cursed Cashshops) 2- Look at the size of their team on www.kingsisle.com/about.html. It's gigantic. That proves how they can make two MMOGs at the same time efficiently. 3- www.kingsisle.com/products.html. Appears to be that they're making a School MMOG and a Magic MMOG.. Or something of the sort. Not sure what the second panel could be all about. (The top panel is just a decoration thing, look at their Logo on the island.. Or maybe their logo is based on their games, like Wurm Online's company, Mojang, having The Wurm as their logo.) 4- Their website seems very well-done. They appear to have a larger-than-normal team working on it by the looks of some of the pages. Anyone find this as odd? I have the feeling that they have something up their sleeves.
Whatever they're making, I'll keep an eye on it. |

Oddly enough, I find PlanetSide to require the most skill, while also being the most rewarding. I'd recommend it, unless you're not into the Sci-fi genre. |

Everquest 2 was pretty fun in my 10-day Trial. Although they limited me to a tiny island, so I guess I didn't really get to see much.. |

If you're looking for a real group experience and PvP, Planetside is your best bet. Although I hate PvP, it's actually made it very fun. And removes the Grind entirely. The community is nice and it has a great Continent Control system too, along with tons of weapons, armor, vehicles, etc.
And even I can't grasp EVE. It's a very, very boring and confusing game. |

AO fits your description perfectly.. Yet you used it as a reference?...
EDIT Again: Man I'm messed up today, Tabula isn't F2P, so I'm not sure. |

Wurm Online possibly? The biggest MMOG sandbox I've been in, minus Second Life. (If you even count that as an MMOG)
I love it, only bad thing is the lag. But that's just my semi-crappy computer. |

You might want to try EQ2 or Vanguard.

EQ2 was a pretty good trial, although it limited you to the Tutorial.
I'd recommend PlanetSide though. Best time I've ever had in a Free Trial. |

And through my vigorous amount of Free Trial-ing, I have collected my top 10 Favorite MMOGs. 1-Runescape (Been playing this since '04, doubt I'd ever not have it as 1st) 2-PlanetSide (I love this game. I'm really expecting to buy the full version with Xmas gift cards) 3-EQ2 (I love this game, but their trial prevented me from seeing much of it) 4-ATITD3 (A great setting, no Combat, economics.. and a 24-hour trial?...) 5-WoW (I'm suscribed to it, but the game just seems very slow and repetitive..) 6-SWG (I got a trial of it the other week, I love it. Too bad it laggs so much that it easily crashes) 7-Anarchy Online(I love it, but I still haven't figured out how Crafting works..) 8-UO (The idea seems great, yet they require a credit card for a trial?) 9-City of Heroes/Villains (Pretty good, yet VERY boring.) 10- Ragnarok Online (Atmosphere was good, but that's about it.)
And through all of this I have found my #1 MMOG Pet Peeve. Voice Overs. All it does is make the game seem cornier, yet it adds a whopping 5GB onto most games, usually more than doubling the size and taking up loads more Hard Drive. (I'm talking to you EQ2, WoW, and SWG) |

JagEx have stated that they're not going to make RS3 for atleast 3 years. They have no current, nor future, plans for it.
Although they DO have plans for a certain game called Mechscape..
To be honest, I doubt RS3 is needed, being that we already get enough new content to make it an entirely different game every year. |

EVE online is a very boring game that takes ages to get anything done. I took the Free Trial and it took me approx. 40 minutes to find and begin to mine an Asteroid, finding one shortly before it disappeared from another player mining all of the ore out of it. And don't EVEn get me started on actually making anything out of the ore. |

I'd recommend Runescape if you're willing to pay $5. The Free version gives you a very bad view on the game.
Plus the Summoning Skill is coming out in January, adding to the already huge group of skills that the game has. I've been playing since Xmas 04 and I've been immersed since the beginning. |

Hullo,
Lately I've been scouring around MMORPG looking for a game that I'd like. So far I've tried.. EVE Online- The game was incredibly overcomplicated, and the whole thing was just very bland and repetitive, not to mention the incredibly long time it takes to get between stations and asteroids, etc. WoW- I like this one a bit, but the Crafting system is incredibly bland at the moment. Although the Combat is enjoyable, Tradeskills matter more to me in a game. PlanetSide- Even know this game has no Crafting, it's pulled me in quite a bit. It's a very fun game that has no grinding whatsoever, and made me immersed within minutes. Although it's incredible, it's a FPS, so I'm looking for alternatives. Anarchy Online- I like this, it's F2P with P2P expansions, but the Crafting system is near-impossible to get started with, I'm not sure if it even exists at all. Some features like the Notum Towers and Player-owned Housing drew me in, but I've been mostly bored by it. City of Heroes/Villains- A good game, but it's mostly too different for me. I still have a Trial activated, and I've found myself experimenting with the Hero Creator more than I've actually been playing the game. Tabula Rasa- I haven't exactly tried this, but considered it. I got turned away by the 3-day Trial, simply for the reason that it usually takes me an entire day to get it downloaded, installed, and working, and then a while for me to get a feel of the game. Ryzom- Once I finally decided to try it(A few days ago) I found out it's been shut down. Lucky me.. Wurm Online- A very good game, but immense amounts of lag and a very small Crafting system, plus the need to suscribe for Citybuilding features, has turned me away for the most part. If only it had a Free Trial for Premium.. SWG- I liked it, but the entire game was incredibly laggy, and even crashed when I tried to do certain things in the Tutorial. My brother also tried it on his better computer, and by the look of it it's very boring even when it does work. Vanguard- Seems very interesting, but the lack of a free trial has prevented me from trying it. I've looked at EQ2 and EQ, but both of them seem to have no emphasis on Crafting. Both of the websites don't even mention it. So, I'm looking for.. -Crafting system that isn't incredibly repetitive/boring (a la WoW) -Some sort of Player-owned Housing system or similar -Reasonably fun combat -Solo-able. I'm not a group person And for other misc. info, -I don't care about PvP, but if the game is entirely/mostly PvP, then I'm probably not going to like it. -I don't care about the Community either. I usually don't group or join a guild unless I'm forced to, and I rarely join any Worldchat channels, so I don't care if the community is horrid. -Grinding isn't exactly my favorite thing, but I don't really mind it. -I don't care about incredible graphics, and I don't want a game that forces you to have High/Normal graphics settings on all the time.

Although I'm a good fan of WoW, I'd say it has the worst community. Mostly on the Alliance side though. I'm thinking it has to do with all of the young players wanting to pick the goodguys because of how they're taught in their early days that they should grow up to be them. Thankfully, I'm 80% Horde. And on my Alliance chars, I've been mostly solo. The Draenei seem to have the best community on the Alliance side, mostly because most immature people think they're ugly, and that you need BC to play as them. I haven't run into anyone who has been immature as a Draenei, but I've run into tons of Alliance people being immature when raiding towns on my Tauren and my Undead.
Best would probably be Runescape. Ever since they changed the game to prevent scamming and whatnot, all of the swearing, scamming, rule-breaking players have left because they don't get their griefing fun from making other people miserable. |

As Blizzard has stated in the FAQ on the World of Warcraft website, the only thing that will be different is stock exchange-based things and their marketing. All this really means is that you can buy stock in Blizzard and that their Marketing campaigns will be quite a bit better/bigger. If you're hoping for Starcraft II on the consoles, sorry but I doubt it. Besides, everyone knows how buggy console RTS games are. |

Wurm is technically a Survival Simulation. Its basically supposed to be as realistic as possible, so alot of the points most people say are very annoying/bad are actually in the real world too.
To be honest, Java isn't meant for Wurm's graphics. Yet Java is nearly the only development platform that can support their Data-Tile format that allows them to make the game so huge. Basically Wurm is in the only place it can be. Its taken a genre that has only ever been done in 2D before and turned it 3D. Its a very good game but takes alot of work to change the world, but hey its the same in the real world. On response to Blizzard doing a similar game.. Blizzard is actually doing what any company in their position would do- Stay with what makes them the most money. Making another MMOG would cost them alot more and may be a flop, not to mention hiring more developers and keeping tabs on both games at the same time. The fact is that most people only play MMOGs for games like WoW, I've seen that by people joining Wurm. Not many people like the realism of Wurm and so it has a very small fanbase at the moment. I play both Wurm and WoW(I've played Wurm for longer though) and to be honest they're both incredible games. |

MMORPG.com is randomly translating into lines of code for me. Its against the regular Dark Blue background so I have to Highlight it though.
I got it just now when clicking Page 2 in this thread. Weird. Anyone have a clue whats going on? I'm thinking database error. |

Microsoft themselves have stated the the 360 is for a primarily older audience. The PS3 is going to get some incredible MMOGs very soon, including PlaystationLIFE. The Wii is soon going to have games like Batallion Wars 2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, etc. Those games take alot of use of the Online features, and you don't even need Friend Codes. The 360 is only praised for its graphics and Halo 3 to be honest.. |
