The only game that has brought back any of the sensation that I enjoyed with UO is Age of Conan. It has a criminal system now as well. Sure its not as cool as UO was with the different titles, but you do go 'red' and have guards attack you.

I have been enjoying the game for a straight 2 months now. I have tried nearly every MMO I could find to fill the void that UO left and AOC has come the closest. I haven't tried Warhammer Online yet though.

If you think AoC is close to UO, then you might as well try WoW, and War.  I've tried just about everything so far and nothing comes close to UO.  The only 2 games that might have a chance to recreate that old UO feeling would be Mortal online and Darkfall.

Thats a shame.  Though Darkfall never had any type of pet system to begin with, most can agree with their decision due to the overpowering abilities in UO. (coming from a Tamer himself)

All people saw about this game were couple of really lousy gameplay if you could even call it gameplay videos, animations look terrible totaly robotic, 100 of spells, none knows anything about those spells or how good gameplay they produce, none knows anything worthy about the game yet and the game is overhyped on this website so i really wonder why are you so fucked up about this game because i am cool as a beer waiting to see what will come up from this, dont epect anything nor i would ever hype this game on mmorpg.com, why you expect this game will be great? Im not sure where you are getting your "overhyped" from.  The only hype that darkfall is getting is from the darkfall forums itself, but why wouldn't we be talking about darkfall here?

I myself am not expecting this game to be something huge.  Im looking for a game that will keep me interested for a long period of time and this is what I think Darkfall will do. 

I think the majority of the people who think we think this game is the greatest thing since sliced bread are the trolls you see posting in here every minute.  If it wasn't for them, this forum wouldn't be very active.

First of all, the beta will possibly be first quarter of 2009, depending on how long alpha will last.  My guess is that private beta will probably start first quarter 09 (january or so), because alpha starts on the 27th (of november).  But beta will come when they are ready to have it.  It all depends on the bugs in alpha that they need to fix.

Open Beta in the first quarter of 2009?  Where are all the screenshots from the game located on the forum?

Sorry about that,  I ment 1st person view seemed wierd to me.  Only because I've never really played a MMORPG in first person other then "war" games.  I'll keep tuned in though to see how it works out. 

I was interested in this game, but that 3rd person view just doesn't sound interesting to me.   I'll have to keep an eye on it to see what it pans out to be.
