I read somewhere that  if you were in the game and a really important battle was going on, your faction could call for reinforcements. That would give you the opportunity to hop on a train, or other vehicle to transport you to that zone and help out. This makes me think that the really huge battles would be the exception, not the rule. Makes me wonder what the average number of players in a battle will be. I say battle instead of match because it's a MMO.

Just a couple of other things I wanted to mention:

The Unreal Engine is known for being able to scale down very well, so even if you have a less than optimum components, you could turn down the settings and the game will still be playable. It really just depends on how pretty you want it to look. If you're planning on playing games other than Huxley and Unreal Tournament 3, you'll probably need to upgrade.

Gears of War uses more regular mapping than anything. From all the Huxley screens that I've seen, it looks like Huxley will use more bump mapping instead, which should also be easier on your system. The characters in all of the screens are fully textured with normal mapping. It could also be that these are early screens that don't have all the graphical goodies that the final game will have.

It doesn't seem possible to me. By the time they've tested the ballancing, the game would be ancient.

Of course, everybody has a dual-core motherboard laying around. Don't forget the price of the game and the subscription fee. You should have just listed each of the cheaper components. Oh well, I'll just play it on 360. I'm a poor college student.
