I was banned not long ago too. Wrongly accused from hacking (speed, speed of fire and client changes). After some emails and phone calls with SOE support they unbanned me.

I had some lags on my wi-fi connection, was using Belkin Nostromo keypad (without macros) and using two years old but continuously updated client.

Now I am playing again but never know, when ban comes again. :(

There are stil greater battles in Planetside, than they are anywhere else.

PS needs to go F2P but it never will be completly F2P. PS needs to have more subsrcription plans based on highest BattleRank reachable. If nothing happens, it dies in one year IMO.

Hopefully we have Welkin game on the western market in these days.

I used to have similar problems. WinXP SP2, Athlon 1800XP, GF 6600 GT in AGP4x, 756MB 333SDRAM... Planetside freezed every 30-60 minutes after some textures disapeared (better restart game immediately in that case). 1780MB RAM helped a lot but I still had freezes sometimes.

Now i have new hardware - one restart in last month. Try to borrow some compatible memory module and test stability then, it could help a bit.

I have heard that we have one other MMOFPS. Maybe you should look on WW2Online, it sounds to be quite similar. It has free trial now... I am going to give it a try if I have some free time in near future... It could attract you if you like Planetside,  even if graphic engine is IMO quite oldschool...

I have to disagree, there ARE new weapons (latest Flamethrower) and vehicles (latest Phantasm, Gallaxy Gunship) too. There are new certs (latest Expert Hacking), opening new tactical opportunities a making us to have fun. Some people complaint after new things are added, but in time, new content will be balanced allways.

System is good and polished in years. But graphic is old, almost no FPS fan know Planetside exists - marketing is poor.

I would appreciate scaled pricing according to Battle and Command rank, some decent PvE teamplay, maybee new version of graphic engine.

Although I am sometimes disapointed too, when all we acquired is turned into dust in few minutes before i go sleep, Planetside has its place in my top 10 games for years 1990-2008.

(Recently i have noticed there is one other game with large scale battles... something from WW2... is anywhere a good comparison between Planetside and that game?)

I am trying 14 days trial. Here is how to get into game with 14 days trial

1. create new account https://account.station.sony.com/
2. download new beta launcher https://account.station.sony.com/
3. you can create PS subcription (for trial - no credit card needed) right from beta client
4. let launcher download PS client for few secs, than stop it
5. copy your old PS clients data into downloads location
6. start launcher, let it perform full scan and download the newest updates
7. start Planetside
8. go to training grounds and in 15 minutes you are Battle Rank 4
9. and now, kill all with wrong skin  uniform color

I suppose, there are no more keys.. If there is one more key out there, i will be glad to have one. Thanks to unknown donator.

Nullapax: I dont think that the game is free... xluciferix is probably talking about reserves program that has ended long time ago. You can only get 30 day trial key on some fan servers now.

I think that you are experiencing some kind of SOE reward for old subscribers. You can look on all that new content and decide if you want to enjoy Planetside once again.
