I've been doing extensive OOC chatting in areas from lvl 20 to lvl 70

And I'm sorry to say, we're all loving it. They're spending their time enjoying the game instead of wasting their time here.

Newcomers to this forum.. don't dwell on the whining here. This game is BIG, a success, and VERY popular beyond just initial hype.

And wtf were you guys talking about with the whole no content after lvl 45? I've been playing non-stop and I've leveled me and my cousin's character to 62 on just quests. You guys must be horrible at exploring.

Oh, and. People who are complaining about the bugs like they've made or broke the game are simply naive. It's like you've never played a launch before.

One more thing. We're GLAD they made a game for decent+ rigs. Why must developers cater to YOUR crappy computer? Go play a cartoon mmo if your computer can't handle or get a better computer. Complaining isn't going to make them smudge up the graphics just for you.

Peace.

This is a post of conflicting arguments and hypocritical statements backed by nothing more than personal opinion - personal opinion, which is the exact thing you are telling people not to do, listen to negative personal opinion. I am planning on recieving a post from you a refute this, so I will show you why nothing you said is credible, accountable, or even worth reading.

You warn newcomers to not read what they see here, but tell them the game is a "huge success". Why post more than a simple "go to an official forum" rather than starting a thread? "Don't listen to these people, they're wrong, but I'm right, so listen to me" is a way politicians get people who don't read to believe what they say. Which is what you're doing.

Apparently you are the god of video games, and because of so, every single gamer needs to play like you. You are ignorant. Just because you claim you had no trouble getting past 45, that doesn't explain the thralls of gamers who couldn't, who found the game frustrating. Their opinion is just as valid as yours.

While complaints of bugs have been made, they are probably made from people who have not played a launch before, or a launch that was incredibly smooth, or even newbs to MMO's altogether (most likely).  On the contrary, there are bugs in the game, and complaints do get them fixed. If no one talked about the bugs, would developers fix them as quickly, if at all? Logic points to no.

Video games are made for a wide range of people, with a wide range of incomes, who can afford a wide range of computers. That is while games can be scaled, adjusted, and fixed so that high end machines can run the game very well with great graphics while low end can still enjoy the fun. You make it sound like 5 people out of 400,000 or however many boxes sold have a low end computer. Ignorant.

Finally, You wrote your entire view in a "Us vs. You" format. You are further alienating AoC. Fanboi's unite is not the slogan AoC was going for. Next thing you know, Chuck Norris will be all you see people talking about in community zones.

"Peace."

I lol'd. H-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e. Hypocrite.

hyp·o·crite

-noun

1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

The chicken system simply keeps the game fair, thus fun. the point of WAR is to be in a constant battle in the various level zones, not going to starting areas and caping everyone. That would throw off how the game works entirely. Plus, after 120 votes 86% says no.. hmm.. seems fine to me.

Ganking players 20 levels lower is WoW, and if that is your cup of tea, stick to that.

Shapeshifter/Camelon. Not necessarily a hybrid, can copy abilities of their foes  they are fighting at the moment, but not as powerful, while having powers of their own that are. Could be an interesting class to play.

I have two questions:

1. What is the point of this thread?

2. If you have to point out what you find is wrong with AoC, which plenty of people have, why on earth is it in the Warhammer forum?

Players like different things, different games and different aspects of games. That is why there are so many different games - they appeal to different people. If you don't like a game, great. Someone else does.

Not the place, and not worth reading/writing/arguing about.

There it is, proof, that there's something wrong with you, if you roll female characters and are a man.  (There are no women in mmos & if so, then vise-versa, but they're probably trying to avoid all the sausages)

How is that proof something is wrong with him...? I've rolled a few female characters because not only does armor look better on them (dreanei female pally for example) but female characters tend to get treated better. And there are plenty of women in mmo's. You're just ignorant.

Who doesn't love a fanboi thread full of trolls claiming the game will be perfect when it is so obviously not so. they will fight to the death!

If the graphics sucked, half of AoC's fan base probably wouldn't play it. What kind of GAME is that? In that sense, just go buy a pretty picture and save some money.

In the newsletter it says "Next Month: Final Elf Class Revealed!"

They have implemented things for the casual gamer. Things such as scenarios (think WoW battleground) which only last for 20 minutes or so and can be joined very quickly is a simple way to not devote hours of game play yet gain levels AND help your faction in the WAR. Quests lead you to the next area or areas with more quests so random running around while searching for something to do is eliminated. On the flip side, there are plenty of hidden places with all types of "phat loot" for the non casual gamer willing to explore the world completely. I can't remember the other things Mythic implemented for the casual gamer, but I'm sure there's more. Hope this helps.

Who wants to bet the black guards will look quite similar to the executioners? Why else would two seperate screenshots be released featuring only NPC executioners? Change the sword to a polearm (forgot what Warhammer calls them) and the armor from grey to black and voila = blackguard. I'd bet my left nut on it.

No, there will only be one. Peopel suspect the highelves will have a pet class, but that doesn't make sense. The Squig herder is the greenskins answer to the other's wizard  and mage classes. They distance guys; however the only class left for high elves is the Melee class, so if anyone thinks there is going to be a pet class for the high elves theya re on crack, although I wish there would be...point blank NO.

My favorite part about your post is "anyone thinks there is going to be a pet class for the high elves they're* on crack". You, my friend, are the one who is on crack.

EA has mentioned multiple times that careers on both factors mirror each other. For example, Warrior Priests and Disciple's are both melee healers. You can pair one career on the Destruction with one on Order. Squig Herder --> White Lion. It makes sense. Dwarf Engineer is NOT a pet class. Also, I've read numerous posts about white lion armor and weapons being in beta.

Compare WAR to WoW? I hate you people.

Key Features

  • Dominated by force of arms and magic, Games Workshop's popular Warhammer fantasy world provides a rich setting for hundreds of thousands of players to experience the epic nature of war and the glory of battle.
  • Join one of six armies and fight for the Realms of Order (Dwarf, High Elf and Empire) or Destruction (Greenskin, Dark Elf, or Chaos).
  • Never fight alone thanks to a next generation Realm vs. Realm (RvR) game system. With an army of allied players at your back, you will defend your homeland, invade enemy realms, and ultimately join the siege of your opposing Realm's capital city. Different types of RvR combat include:
    • Open World RvR: Participate in melee skirmishes, objective-based battles and keep sieges.
    • Scenarios: Join instanced battles with up to 24 players per side for multi-player combat action, including Capture the Flag, Murder Ball, and more.
    • Capital City Siege: Take part in an ongoing campaign to invade an enemy's land and sack their capital city.
  • Journey to the frontlines and undertake a wide variety of PvE quest types related to an army's ongoing war efforts, including the new Public Quests: multi-staged, communal quests to be completed by allied players fighting together against overwhelming odds.
  • Embark on an epic quest to complete the Tome of Knowledge and unlock Warhammer lore, detailed monster information, new abilities and rewards, and major story plotlines.
  • A robust combat system allows players to customize their character's combat abilities with Career Masteries, Tactics, and Morale Skills.
  • Explore massive Living Cities that become more or less prosperous based on a Realm's overall performance in the ongoing war. Navigate a maze of twisting streets, visit the local tavern, explore a dark undercity, and meet colorful personalities in a city full of adventure.
Taken from www.warhammeronline.com...You said you saw the races, this was the tab right above it. Try looking around more, eh? WAR is not like WoW.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT:

  • Adventure together with thousands of other players
  • Explore an expansive world with miles of forests, deserts, snow-blown mountains, and other exotic lands.
  • Choose from four realm types and find the one best suited for your own playing style: Normal, Player versus Player, Role-playing, and Role-playing Player versus Player.
  • Join the Horde or the Alliance as one of 8 playable races.
  • Select from 9 classes, including holy Paladins, shape-shifting Druids, powerful Warriors and Mages, demon-summoning Warlocks, and more.
  • Encounter many familiar and new Warcraft characters and monsters.
  • Learn the continuing story of Azeroth by completing a wide variety of challenging quests.
  • Journey through an epic world filled with dungeons of different styles and depths.
  • Explore 6 huge capital cities, which serve as major hubs for the races inhabiting them.
  • Join a guild of like-minded players to adventure and conquer the game's many challenges together - or establish your own!
  • Mail gold, items, or messages to other players, or send them to your own characters for easy muling.
  • Sell your items or search for items for sale via the automated auction house.
  • Locate and engage other players with easy-to-use features and tools, including chat channels, friends lists, and animated and audible character expressions.
  • Customize the game's interface via XML.
  • Enjoy hundreds of hours of gameplay with new quests, items, and adventures every month.

I got this from www.worldofwarcraft.com

If you think Wow and WAR are the same, after looking at the above information, you are one of two things: A troll or a fanboi. SHOW ME IN THE WORLD OF WARCRAFT bullets where "Open RvR, Living cities, Public quests, Moral and Tactic abilities - not just spells,  Tome of Knowledge, capital city siege, etc. etc. etc."

However, WoW DOES have... GASP... every normal, non exciting thing about an MMO in a extremely polished game. That's...it...

True story! White Lions will kill the mother and capture the cub to raise as his own. (I doubt you will do this in game, rather just given a white lion cub at rank 1). The white lion's lion becomes more than a pet because of this, more like an ally/best friend. Creates a cool concept compared to the "find a pet, tame it" bore. I'm all for it.
