I say no.
I imagine you could solo enough to progress, through various repetitive go kill x wolves quests and grinding, but you'll be missing out on alot. The whole fellowship thing seems to be important. Then again, I say yes. Its the only way to know for sure :) I might even have a keycode you can use for 30 free days if i can talk my fella into parting with it. We both bought the game and he never activated his... prob never will. I'll have to see tomorrow, bed time now :P |

Not been paying too much attention to this game, but just watched that movie and the main points like it being seamless and without instances makes it sound a lot like Vanguard to me.
Seamless it was not as even though there was no loading screen there was a pause in movement every so often, as annoying as constant lag. The "without instances" while still including dungeons just meant that there was a constant high level barrage of grinders and lootwhores camping and killing the mobs you needed for quests and selling on the loot you really could have used. ...ofc, i'm sure i'll still check it out on release ;) |

I tried the 14 day free trial a couple of weeks ago and i really enjoyed it. TBH i'd written the game off just because with all the super hero movies etc and it being a super hero game i figured it was just trying to get a slice of the comic book comeback...
I loved being able to customise my char and you can pretty much make it look however you want as far as costumes go and then it extends to the skills you have. I liked walking around and saving oap's from thugs to grind xp... it's a feel good game :) The instances and mobs were pretty repetitive but i didn't seem to mind as much because i enjoyed the way i killed them as i'd chosen the method. Finding groups was ok, i was surprised how busy it was, although they aren't necessarily needed as you can set the difficulty in instances. A couple of things i didn't like was that i found it hard to locate quests i could do besides the main ones... constantly picking up new enhancements became a chore to organise them... and i think thats it. Not a hardcore game in my opinion, just something thats fun to play a couple of hours of when you're short of things to do. Certainly one to try though ;) |

Does anyone have any insight on how they actually choose who gets to play a beta? Maybe i can edge my bets... :D Is it completely random, or first come basis or do they hand select so they end up with some with amazing setups, some with really dire ones, some kids, some pensioners, some guys, some gals, etc etc. Would be great to know :) |

I just joined the forums today and noticed there wasn't an "Introductions" forum for the new people to... erm, introduce themselves. Presuming its a place where people do make friends or contacts based on a common interests it might be a nice idea. Also, now i'm off on one, it might be nice to have a Guild forum too... where people can notify others of the guild they have or plan to make or are looking for in whichever game and invite people to join them. Might need a couple of section based on location (US, UK, other EU, etc). |

I dunno what classes as young but when you pay for a kick ass computer you expect to see graphics to match your money :P
I wouldn't play a game that looked great but had crap gameplay, but i wouldn't play a game with ye olde shite graphics long enough to experience its gameplay... |

Since weening myself off WoW i've been bored as hell. I'm pretty much buying any new mmorpg that comes out and nothing has me hooked, even LOTRO was a disappointment to me. Atm all my hopes are pinned on Warhammer and/or AOC so i hope neither flops :P
