Planetside is alive because it is a REALLY good and popular addition in the Station Access pass. It is a main reason people have Station Access (Or was, up until they raised the price of it) and if removed fromt he Access, will cause a huge drop in Access subscribers. Now... You cant figure that out... a really simple basic concept... And you call others dumb?!
Yeah... |

General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 6/10/07 6:03:47 AM
Does anyone remember the number one argument from the fan boys before and druing early beta? "SOE has nothing to do with the game, they cant do anything, they will only make the boxes and sell them" and then two three lines that anyone saying differently was all manners of stupid. Yeah.... |

Do we need internet addiction clinic here in america?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/09/07 7:27:09 PM
The last posters really make my skin crawl... No first second or even third hand experience of the problem, but ALL of them quick to tell everyone here how wrong they are and how their own, quickly tossed together pile of dung is the truth, the sollution. They are also the kind of peole that broke my addiction in the end. Internet turned from a group of educated people with a will to cooperate and spread knowledge between each other, into a cesspool of the most stupid and arrogant people in the world, that cant wait to shove their imaginary "truths" down other peoples throats. |

Do we need internet addiction clinic here in america?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/09/07 8:16:49 AM
In the birth of the internet, and the upswing of RPG chatrooms, especially in the Vampire tM setting, I was so addicted to the internet and in getting in to play, meet my internet girlfriend, who lived in Missouri, and... well, just keep the game alive really. I was so addicted that I in the end lost my job, and after that my apartment. I did that... Noone else. I did that, and it was up to me to solve it. If someone had walked up to me then and said "You are sick, you need help, its not your fault its a sickness, dont worry, you just need to talk to someone" then I would throw myself in their arms give them full responsibilty to solve my life and never get better in my lifetime. because suddenly it was someone elses problem to help me, not mine. I would NEVER had recovered if I had not been forced to take the full blame myself, the full responsibility and then work real hard myself to get out of it and solve it. You say that a clinic will help in ways a person can not do himself. Is that why we dont have any drug addicts nowadays, with the thousands of clinics helping.... No, thats right. Because it is not the clinic that make them go there, it is not the clinic that give them the will, the strength the stubborness to solve their problem. First and foremost, before anything can ever change... people need to take care of their own mess first, and have a WILL to change. It starts with the person, the person need to work and it ends with the person working on his problem. You dont need a doctor that takes hundreds of dollars an hour to sit quiet and let someone work on his own problem. If you need to talk about it you can use a trash can, a lamp post or some drunk on the street. Its the WILL to work with the problem that is the first step to a sollution, not some clinic. But then... personal responsibility takes a maturity and a courage few people today can ever measure up to. its someone else problem they are fat, they drink too much, they dont get a job, they cant find a girlfriend and its someone else problem they are mindless cowards that cant decide what pants to wear without asking someone for advice. Of course those people scream for a "clinic" to put the blame and responsibilty on.

'City of Heroes' Coming to TV, Film?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/08/07 1:46:55 PM
Yup, Uwe Boll and his pals... I kinda enjoyed Doom all the way up to the first person scenes. I was sitting there thinking" Hey, this aint that bad... Not as bad as the hype says..." Then the First person started.. rubber suits dancing ballet in front of the camera... I was on the floor laughing in seconds. One of the best movies this year, no comedy in the world can beat it

'City of Heroes' Coming to TV, Film?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/08/07 1:42:01 PM
Since I love really bad monster movies, rubber suits and the whole shabang, I am forced to put a "hell yes" on this, no matter the outcome. I buy all the computer game movies and I just love them all. So bad, so cheesy, effects from hell and I can laugh for hours.. Love it. So go ahead, make that movie and TV series for me! Entertain me, goshdranit! |

I also wait for a game for grownups again, with choices, skills, advanced character development in a complex game system. Closest to AO since the dawn of time has be EVE (Funny, that both are scandinavian. Big brains among the vikings) but that did not match my personal taste, even if I appreciate the quality of the product. Now... I am in MMO limbo, waiting and putting all my hopes in Conan. If that fails.... I will probably be counted as an Ex MMO player in the future. It has turned into kiddiegames with a simplicity that really tired and drunk monkeys would manage to understand, all because there are more normally stupid people in the world than intelligent, and stupid people are more willing to throw money around, even if they dont like the product that much. |

I am also sure that if you are this willing to complain about a game because of one pet problem, that is not even an issue considerng how the targetting in the game actually works, and this willing to start an argument about it before you have even tried it for five seconds.... Then they will probably be more than happy if you avoid TR and go someplace else. It seems a game has to be EXACTLY like you and only you want it to be, or its complete junk. Noone will ever make you completly happy, I hope you are aware of that? My suggestion is at least wait with the harsh words and big gestures until you have played it for two minutes... or stay away, period. |

When Vanguard Imploded it Killed Hardcore Gaming too
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 6/01/07 9:21:26 PM
Long posts does not equal either complexity nor correctness. There are lots of errors in your statements, and your topic is not the least of them. Vanguard prove one thing and one thing only. I thought Shadowbane made it clear in its time, but I guess some have to hear it twice. Aiming at a niche market does not mean you can make a product of subpar quality and still succeed. Few trekkies buy the Enterprise made in clay for 500 dollars, thousands of people want Darth Vaders orignal helmet, but very few want his jockstrap made out of used Cleenex... And not too mane hardcore gamers in Vanguards case, or allout PvPers in Shadowbanes case, want a rushed out, subpar quality, halfmade game to play. IF developers and game companies took their responsibility to crate a product that is EXACTLY what is promised and not always trust the playersbaes and their will to forgive everything, then I am sure both a hardcore game and a full PvP game could be extremly succesful. But as long as they not only fall short of the expectations, but even miss the quality standard of the last 5+ years, then they cant expect anything but a failure. |
