EvE is not a game.

Correct, EVE is life itself.

Screen savers that important to you?

EVE is a screen saver and pigs fly.

If someone come to the 0.0 part of the screen saver I will tell you who is not a coward player. If you prefer to stay safe then it's better that you go on thinking about it as a screen saver.

If you wish better gfx you can go in Darkfall too. There will be a lot of people waiting to a full guts pvp'er like you.

Yes, another themepark with classes and levels. Hello Kitty Online with lightsabers.

I'm just glad it's not another broken buggy sandbox with subs hanging under 50k and no sense of direction.

Watch how well "Hello kitty Online with lightsabers" does compared to your game of choice. I'm not garenteeing BioWare taking the lead in the industry, but I garentee most people will go to something more functional and enjoyable over something broken and frustrating.

Nothing's broken in EVE, that is my game of choice but you are right, if I was not there I would be playing DarkFall or Mortal Online.

Nomad gamers will play "Hello Kitty Online with lightsabers" and will eat the content in two months. I don't see that game working on the long run.

@Torak : In fact, waiting a cargo Freighter from 39 solar systems away bringing to me industrial gear. :D

Don't try and make it sound "cool" :)

I got it! Well, it's cool for me. Surely you prefer SWTOR, which is not cool for me but it seems it is for others ~in this case I can't say anything, as there is everything in the Lord's Vineyard, or so is said in more conservative circles than i'm fond of~. But as I have shown before in other place I bear solid arguments to say SWTOR will be a huge fail after some months.

I rest my case.

SW: TOR will be a deception so deep that it will go f2p in 4 months.

please elaborate on this theory.

Is this because no one will play after 4 months and Bioware will need another flow of cash?

The theory is based on the fact that actual SW fans had their sandbox destroyed aka SWG became themepark class-level based, so as Bioware is producing just a New-NGE the old fanbase won't feel appealed to play a remake of a Destroy-My-Game. Then, the TOR will be a product for the nomad gamers that will remain there until another new and shiny game pops out.

Furthermore, if it has levels and storyline the hardcore powerleveling crowd will eat all the content in two months or less. What is left then? zone BG's? ... Many games such as the almost in funeral WAR has a lot more PvP content, and alas, is dying. A game storylined like AoC is listening its own requiem march in this thread ~and AoC has much more better graphics than SW: TOR and a wild pvp~. With all these elements of judice I can make the statement detailed above.

This game is a lack of originality and a dull themepark from the inside, no doubt.

SW: TOR will be a deception so deep that it will go f2p in 4 months.

Good storyline.... AoC has some good storylines on wether you decide and... well, you know.

I know a lot of people who didn't like PvP and mostly feared it who became PvP'ers in WAR, and now they are playing Aion and follow PvP'ing without this former fear.

WAR is THE PVP GAME as it leads all kind of players to a balanced, restricted, fair battlefield, and it was what WAR was looking for.

Ok, the game has some problems and major issues but for me is simply laughable that someone pretends that THE PVE GAME par excellence, it is, WoW is more ....wait... less *****bear.

Got camped and reskilled is not hardcore, it's just stupid. Ganking lowbies is not a PvP achievement, but a way of showing the lack of competency of the griefers.

Addenda: LOL!

I can't play a game if I don't like the lore.

It's basic for me that it has a lore that is atractive and inmersive for me, if not i dont feel tied to the game. SWG was my grand MMO though actually I was a UO player and I played both as I did love the two games and their lore.

Now I play EVE in which the backstory and background is very important as Facts done by players affect that world around. Yes, I do mind the lore of EVE a lot, and a went to amazon to buy the two EVE novels.

And for the matter: I'm a guy, mainly what is used to be called "Hardcore PvP'er" ~by the way it musn't be understood as better than "hardcore PvE'r", I admire them and would like to improve my skill on that ~.

Lore it's the foundation of a MMORPG.

They could have stolen the UI from Darkfall. It would have brought a lot of drama to this thread. It's a pity that only the WoW lewt kids are involved. Like a pic nic in the meadows of England...

No PvP I hear?

Then what purpose has the rip off UI? They could do one simillar to the ten thousands f2p games there and we had nothing to say about rip off. They all rip off L2 btw.

I can't wait to start my cultivated and well-mannered Tyranide char.

Ecoutez! :D @Monsieur MacLinux:

If you wish to find a lot of people just switch to Karak-Norn, of course if you like the game enough to rerroll a character. Don't throw the towel so early & so easy. In there I wander and can tell that if has not only population but a lot of it. Crowded is the word. If not, have a good time with LoTRo - another one among the best -.

Well, I don't like themeparks but I loved WAR since CB. The best PvP game ever, for me, and the funniest at the same time. It's a High Quality game that will be alive for long as many people is coming to WAR.

Your Man from The Euroland news: EU Karak-Norn is crowded. Yes, crowded.

Learn from Darkfall supporters, they had Faith and AV released the game, when the vast majority was doomsaying it as pure vaporware. Have Faith and We Shall Walk Into Stations, and all will have rejoicing...

A week ago I received a mail from Gameforge, the EU publisher for the game, and joined quickly just mere curious about this title. I entered the game after a non problematic install and wow! It was ALIVE! plenty of people and a helpful community sorrounded me in my first day there.

The game runs smoothly at highest settings in my machine and I've been able to play 4Story without problems.

The wide variety of quests and PvP just got me stuck. Really is a F2P? Its features rocks. I hope more people keep an eye on this game as it really merits.

Why EVE sucks

Xfire numbers here shows a sample, not a global collect. But it allows to get  more or less the time 2k users are playing EVE per day.

I know people who plays casual EVE & very dedicated players as myself that log on more than 14 hours a week.

I should say that in fact there is a grind in EVE related to ISK, in fact is such a grind as Lineage2 to be able to stand at the level needed to being in a corp and to PvP with some sort of chance.

I should have switched to EQ2 when SOE ruined SWG. x'D (I need a break from EVE right now, because for me it is not casual at all). :/

Illysia, the Facts contradict your view. See it and make a little of maths.

My point is if you do something boring... its going to be boring.

Only point here is that it is boring to you only.

Considering that majority of EVE players never leave high sec ever, it would indicate that mission running community is quite large.

Found something for you:
Enjoy :)

So your argument is because people choose to play the game in a boring way... that what?  It shouldn't be boring?

Mission running is popular because it is a low risk endeavor with high profitability.  Not because its fun.  Humans will always take the path of least resistance.  It's the same reason your proposed skill system would degrade the game.  People wouldn't play the game to have fun or accomplish goals, they'd play the game to grind skills... and they'd take the easiest and fastest path available to them.  Thank you for making my point by bringing up mission running.

Most people run missions as a method of funding other endeavors(PvP in some form usually).  They don't run missions for the sake of running missions.  If you run missions for the sake of running missions, you're missing the point.

EvE online is no worse for casual play than the Facebook MMOs, login for thirty minutes or so and do whatever. I think only a small proportion of the EvE subs actually play more than 20 hours a week.

Are you crazy? x'DDDDDDDDDDD
