Well tbh I would say if you will upgrade to a 8800 card and psu and tbh the processor also needs to be upgraded then.#

It would be better and more productive to save up and build a new system,there does come a time when we have to throw the old system out and start again.

AQsk your parents 1st and if it is ok I will box it off and send it too you,do remember it has been used but used well and should keep you going for sometime :) and hey it is free.

What settings are you using?  Fastest Frame Rate or Highest Quality?  I use a Balanced setting and my computer is similiar to the OP's except I have an 8600 card and only 2 gigs of ram.  I've not had any of the problems you guys are listing.  I have had one CTD and server lag. 
 

 

The word "similiar" is very dodgy when it comes to pc builds.

OP,your processor isnt that good tbh and holds you back alittle,your GFX card is quite bad even back in the day when it was new,if you can get yourself a newer card it will help but again you will still be held back,also dont go out and buy something like an 8800gt etc card without checking if your system will get bottlenecked or more importantly if you have the power to run it,the last thing you want is your pc closing down or restarting the game due to lack of power.

I'm not sure quite what bottlenecking is, I'm guessing it's the card isn't running at its full potential due to other hardware? but I'm definitely gonna have an adequate power supply to run the new card, the processor isn't the best but it does well, dual core, 3.4ghz, not the most efficient or powerful but it's far from crap. I'm making sure I get a good power supply when I get the card, the processor I shall have to consider another time when cash once again enters my hands, but for now my top priority is getting a nice card, if bottlenecking is what I think it is, then I don't mind so much, but it's more than likely I'm incorrect, PCs are far more confusing that I first imagined after upgrading from a laptop, that's for sure.

Yes it has been brought up in the TCoS forum a couple of times but quickly put down,It isnt a bad thing to hype the game but as me and a few others have pointed out your time would be better spent posting useful things and answering question about your game on mmorpg.com.

The hype meter has always been seen by user's here as something very easy to manipulate and the DF guys have basically taken advantage of that.

FFS why cant ppl read the thread before posting?

It has nothing to do with them hyping the game(how many times has this been said now)It is about the fact of giving all other games a 1 just to get DF up the meter,I know it is petty and the meter didnt mean much before this but now it is just usless altogether and a pointless adventure by the DF forum guys and that is what got ppl annoyed.

i think everyone tries to hype their favorite mmorpg i think, which includes giving the competitors bad score.

Man there is just no point in explaining something to some ppl,it just never register's.

I dont think there are many mmo players that dont like the idea of DF I mean come on it sounds great,We are a bit held back if it will release as it says it will.

What has got alot of ppl on this forum going is the community and the way they de-hyped games just for the sake of it,nothing to do with the game not at all.

Well jaycee I really hope you get in soon mate,I never went for open beta but have followed the boards over the last 2 days and I really feel sorry for you mate I think alot of your post count has come from asking how to get it too work and now alot seem to be getting in I hope you will soon.

With regards to the graphic's they seem fine nothing new but easy on the eye,I grew up playing jetset willy and attic attack where your guy was made up of 6 square blocks but still found myself playing them games for hours upon hours on end,gameplay is where it is at.

I will be playing a runepriest something a little new with the runes and healing is always a good challenge and rewarding at times,I can maybe understand if you play a tank type or similar it could feel the exact same as some games out there.

Anyway nice honest review thanks for writting it,always good to hear as many opinion's as possible. 

There have been a couple of ppl during the day said they had it working now but they have been very much in the minority I am sorry to say.

Yeah, betas are important, but sometimes I wish, it was limited to 1000 testers. Because look at these threads: the slightest ability of rational thinking... blown away by impatience and desperation.
 

If it was limited to 1000 testers then they could never stress test so the servers would never be ready.

Also I never went for open beta as I thought there would be alot of problems but I do feel sorry for the guys that did go for it and cant get in,I dont feel it is just a bunch of kids whinning it is people venting there fustration at something that should be working and isnt,hell I am 35 and if something doesnt work for after maybe 2 days of trying be it my TV,car or indeed a game I get pretty pissed off,The TV and car I can get someone here to fix withing 24hrs but who do these guys waiting for the beta call?

Sorry but the only guys I see here calling people kids are people that are either playing the game now or people that have no intention of playing the open beta.

I may be wrong but I am sure alot of player's have been spamming there codes and finally got through so this whole "I can be a 1",or a "D could be a O" doesnt hold much water if the codes work after hours of trying,Nothing like taking the highroad and blaming other's I guess.
