As they say, everything sounds great on paper. But technology stops things from being realized. The idea of huge persistent worlds and limitless content, or shall I say enough to please you, would be amazing. But the amount of time and technology spent on making a real star trek game would be so long and cost way to much. People really need to quit being chair developers and try doing the research to see how much goes into making a game. No company nor investor has the time or funds to back a project that extreme, its to costly. And video games are a business. And it's worst when you have a company that has multiple investors and exec's. Talk about being in high school all over again.

Can we just stop poking it with a stick? its dead.. walk away.

Got to love these type of people, making assumptions without playing it. And I'll stop you right now by stating it doesn't really matter that you played it when it launched. The game has a player base, look at the forums. It may not be your cup of tea, but it is fun for some people and those are the ones playing. And WAR is far from dead, but then I guess you seem to know more then we do so share your info with us oh mighty one. Or do you just like to increase your post count with random sayings?

 Woo they added new grass!

They did more than that. But without reading, I guess I can see how you came to that conclusion. People these days ....

Why is Runes of Magic nominated as Best New Game of 2009? It came out at the end of 2008, and is a port over game bought by Frogster. The game has actually been running since 2007. That game should be replaced by another game, and someone should do there homework. =)

Your asking if a classic server is classic. You should be able to answer that yourself. If not, here is a formula to follow: Classic = Classic. It's why they named it the classic server.

Can't believe this one wasn't mentioned:

Mario Kart!

I also enjoyed Killer Instinct and MKIII.

I'm not sure how it would work out as a MMO, but it does have a online/co-op mode that looks like it will come in with an update or two. You can notice this by the descriptions on the down loadable content when you get to certain quests. I haven't yet been able to download any of this content, but I will be trying sometime this weekend. Bio-ware can truly develop single player RPG's with an amazing story line. I find myself staying up way to late playing this game and watching every cut scene because they are rather interesting. I also like the fact that what you do and what you say really does affect the world in some way. The only nitpick in this game is no voice for your character in the cut scenes. Other than that, the best RPG I've played since Baldur's Gate. If you have not bought it, go grab it up. It's well worth the money.

This game has the best tutorial I have ever seen imo but will get repetitive after the 3rd time or so.

Unless they have changed the tutorial from launch I felt it was the worst tutorial. It was completely tedious. Having me move my character left into the light and right into the light, etc, was just horrible.

and after I endured the tutorial I get into the real world and what was the first quest I get? To run around to some towers collecting reports.

That's when I uninstalled. Granted, this isn't fair to the game as it is very possible it offers far more. However, I just deflated and said enough is enough.

The tutorial and the whole starting area has changed since launch. Matter of fact, the last patch this game received before it went f2p was remodel of the starter zone.

You 3 above sure your playing the same game? Tons of stuff missing? Awful quests? It boggles me to think of what you would see as a great quest. Questing has always been the same since rpg's were created and it will not change anytime soon if ever. This game is actually pretty solid. The engine is in-house and has a lot of potential. The community is pretty good, with a great online tool to add to the mix. And the animations are pretty standard animations by today's standard. The only drawbacks to the game is polish and it needs it and its what the community wanted. Maybe if you were a tester, reading the forums and asking questions might have helped. I mean you did sign up to test right? =)

Anyways, this game is pretty decent. The game has a familiar feeling but does it on a different path. The one thing I like a lot is the open world. It feels more alive than some games I have jumped into recently. Plus the study system is kind of neat too. Off-line progression is really a good system.

MikeB, with all due respect, they didn't drop GG for good.  Please read the original post.  Why are you reporting it like it's something that it is not.  It just isn't in at launch because they KNOW it will be the kiss of death for them as they try to launch next week.  GG will be back, it's not a matter of if, but when.

Yes, I'm thrilled it's gone, for now.

Saying that, when GG is put back in I have the feeling these forums are going to go SuperNova.

Head over to aionsource. They stated they would only put GG back in-game IF they can get it to work correctly with the product. If they can't, you can bet they will look towards other options or find a in-house way to handle the cheating/hack issues. I can almost bet that GG will not be coming back.

Surprised no one mentioned Savage/Savage2. In my opinion, a true MMORTS should try to do what they did, but on a grander scale. I for one would play in a heart beat as I love Savage 2.

So many errors in this article, I'm shocked it was allowed to be posted. Not to mention this glaring one:

Honorable Mention - Mythic vs. Auran

This particular lawsuit lands at number ten primarily because of the fact that there wasn’t an actual lawsuit attached. It could easily have become one, but it didn’t, because the would-be defendant apparently saw the error of their ways and backed down.

Really? Number 10 you say. I thought this was an honorable mention, and a top 5 list. =)

Fileplanet will have a page that pops up on the 1st which you can get your key from. You will need at least a free account to obtain one, as FP ties keys to accounts in case you misplace it. You will know when the page goes up because it will have a link off FP's main page. And before you ask, I am psychic.

So in conclusion, you will need a free account and have downloaded the client and your ready to go. Anyone else who has pre-ordered and already has put there key in does not need anything but to update there closed beta client and wait for the 6th.

A better idea would just to allow both of them. Keep your casuals happy with a specific amount, and your HxC players able to pay their monthly fee and play 6/7 (of course im not gunna say 24/7 cause thats just rediculous.).

*What can brown do to you?*

Same here. This could extend into payment models. I think it would bring in more players to enjoy the game.

I'd say having a major investor who is  a gamer and MMO player is a pretty big plus. It's the investors who ultimately make the decisions, after all.

Exactly! I think every investor should be interested in their product. If not, then how would they ever know it's good. =)

Aside from forming and helping run an MMO company?

Depends on how you see it as he is rarely in the studio. He even mentioned in an article that he's usually not there during baseball season. Hes more of an investor although he stated he makes sure his idea's get across.

Curt Schilling, he is some sports guy, and i dont do sports.

He is a star baseball pitcher and a wargaming fan.

I had heard thru a rumor mill that you don't necessarily have to be a subscriber on fileplanet to get a key for the OB.  So, I tested the rumor yesterday and requested a key.  Today in my inbox, I had a key.  Granted I had already pre-ordered and got a key from gamestop.  This was just a test.  Those who are interested may want to try.  Good Luck...

And this magical game is? ...

I post it here for not having it locked like always on euro forum. Anyway, when you get a premade level 50 you start your main quest, the destiny one at level 50. Now this quest at level 30 and 40 gives you a choose btw increasing attack, defence or regeneration of your char, but since this part of the quest are missing will your char be weaker? I spoken with a GM and he told me there is no way to give those bonus unless you start to level from 1 another char. Now before i'm gonna make my new char to 80 i want to know if there is going to be a patch to fix this, or better a reskill ncp to readd this kind of bonus for all the ppl. I guess a good thing would be letting everyone to reset the main quest. Thanks.

You still get to pick it. As soon as you make your level 50 premade, you get the quest line which you have to go and talk with a few people. You get gear, a ring and a chance to choose one of those. If you didn't get that option, then somehow you clicked to fast or your character got bugged.
