If Dragon Age was an MMO... my God!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/06/09 12:38:35 PM
I'm not sure how it would work out as a MMO, but it does have a online/co-op mode that looks like it will come in with an update or two. You can notice this by the descriptions on the down loadable content when you get to certain quests. I haven't yet been able to download any of this content, but I will be trying sometime this weekend. Bio-ware can truly develop single player RPG's with an amazing story line. I find myself staying up way to late playing this game and watching every cut scene because they are rather interesting. I also like the fact that what you do and what you say really does affect the world in some way. The only nitpick in this game is no voice for your character in the cut scenes. Other than that, the best RPG I've played since Baldur's Gate. If you have not bought it, go grab it up. It's well worth the money. |

The Chronicles of Spellborn: Popping Back in on Spellborn

Having me move my character left into the light and right into the light, etc, was just horrible. and after I endured the tutorial I get into the real world and what was the first quest I get? To run around to some towers collecting reports. That's when I uninstalled. Granted, this isn't fair to the game as it is very possible it offers far more. However, I just deflated and said enough is enough.
The tutorial and the whole starting area has changed since launch. Matter of fact, the last patch this game received before it went f2p was remodel of the starter zone. |

Alganon: NDA Lifted, Release Date Delayed
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/28/09 7:14:04 PM
You 3 above sure your playing the same game? Tons of stuff missing? Awful quests? It boggles me to think of what you would see as a great quest. Questing has always been the same since rpg's were created and it will not change anytime soon if ever. This game is actually pretty solid. The engine is in-house and has a lot of potential. The community is pretty good, with a great online tool to add to the mix. And the animations are pretty standard animations by today's standard. The only drawbacks to the game is polish and it needs it and its what the community wanted. Maybe if you were a tester, reading the forums and asking questions might have helped. I mean you did sign up to test right? =) Anyways, this game is pretty decent. The game has a familiar feeling but does it on a different path. The one thing I like a lot is the open world. It feels more alive than some games I have jumped into recently. Plus the study system is kind of neat too. Off-line progression is really a good system. |

Head over to aionsource. They stated they would only put GG back in-game IF they can get it to work correctly with the product. If they can't, you can bet they will look towards other options or find a in-house way to handle the cheating/hack issues. I can almost bet that GG will not be coming back. |

Surprised no one mentioned Savage/Savage2. In my opinion, a true MMORTS should try to do what they did, but on a grander scale. I for one would play in a heart beat as I love Savage 2. |

General: The List: Five Memorable MMO Lawsuits
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/01/09 7:46:03 PM
So many errors in this article, I'm shocked it was allowed to be posted. Not to mention this glaring one: Honorable Mention - Mythic vs. Auran This particular lawsuit lands at number ten primarily because of the fact that there wasn’t an actual lawsuit attached. It could easily have become one, but it didn’t, because the would-be defendant apparently saw the error of their ways and backed down. Really? Number 10 you say. I thought this was an honorable mention, and a top 5 list. =) |

Fileplanet will have a page that pops up on the 1st which you can get your key from. You will need at least a free account to obtain one, as FP ties keys to accounts in case you misplace it. You will know when the page goes up because it will have a link off FP's main page. And before you ask, I am psychic. So in conclusion, you will need a free account and have downloaded the client and your ready to go. Anyone else who has pre-ordered and already has put there key in does not need anything but to update there closed beta client and wait for the 6th. |

Same here. This could extend into payment models. I think it would bring in more players to enjoy the game. |

Exactly! I think every investor should be interested in their product. If not, then how would they ever know it's good. =) |

Depends on how you see it as he is rarely in the studio. He even mentioned in an article that he's usually not there during baseball season. Hes more of an investor although he stated he makes sure his idea's get across. |

He was a star baseball player, and he plays tons of World of Warcraft. Lately it seems like that is all he does. |

Are the premade level 50 doomed to be weaker than other classes? EURO SERVER
General Discussion « Age of Conan 8/15/09 2:53:45 PM
Originally posted by prettycrazy You still get to pick it. As soon as you make your level 50 premade, you get the quest line which you have to go and talk with a few people. You get gear, a ring and a chance to choose one of those. If you didn't get that option, then somehow you clicked to fast or your character got bugged. |

It's kind of obvious it's P2P. Why would we, the NA/EU market, get to play for free when the Asian market has been paying for it? Plus, do you see a cash shop button or store anywhere in game? I'm kind of shocked people have to even ask this. It's almost like one of those, "Here's your sign" moments. Bleh ... |

Aion: NCsoft: Aion Will be Second Only to WoW
News Discussion « General Discussion 8/13/09 7:43:57 PM
I think Aion will hit somewhere around 1-2 million subs in the NA and globally be around 7-8 million. It's a linear game with a nice appeal. It's also built like WoW in the fact that its easy to get into, plays like a champ on modern and old systems, and has a lot of content to work with from the start. The only thing that WILL hold Aion back is Gameguard. If they remove it, they can count on high sub numbers. But if they keep it, the program alone will cost them a few hundred thousand subs because of the way it detects. Some people may think I'm being looney, but the game just feels like what WAR could have been in some ways. Plus AIon has a nice story, and some nice features taboot! |

Acclaim pretty much owns this game now. No company in Korea is messing with it or working on it. Spellborn NV actually is still in development of this game for the upcomming push to F2P, but the parent company of Spellborn NV has went bankrupt and is no longer staffed on that side of things. Therefore several people that you may have talked to on EU forums are now gone. Acclaim really needs to step forward and just purchase the full developer rights so they can control every aspect. Because as of right now, there is a stop in any sort of news regarding the transition to F2P. |

I want WoW before it had free content. When Molten Core was a pain for people to get in to because only 5 people had keys. And when it was the only huge raid instance. Or when people would raid the apposing raid guild doing the outdoor raid bosses. Or when TM was the best area to get your PvP on. Or when loot lag was around and people would get it so bad you could spot half the server walking around looking like they were bending over showing you the moon. Or when Onyxia seemed like the hardest key to get. Or when Maruadon was just implemented as the first 50+ group instance and all the first level 60's flocked to it because they had never been there. Or when people spent days getting that fishing pole! Or when ......... I think you get my drift. WoW when it first launched was great because it was new and it was one of my best times gaming besides playing DaoC. But life goes on right? =) Forgot the best one, when only one person in your guild had a key for Upper BlackRock and he was logged off. Oh and the wipes on the eggs!!!!! |
