Seeing as how even a mid-range modern video card can run the poo poo out of this game to well above 60 fps, I don't see what the big deal is about absolutely needing to be in SLI.

City of Heroes 2 is never going to happen. It's a nice fantasy, espeically with the huge disappointment Marvel Heroes Online turned out to be, but only a fantasy.

As to server population, I checked in again at primetime today and there are two red servers (Freedom; Virtue) and 5 yellow servers. Not too shabby!

In case anyone is wondering, the base free game is definitely worth playing. Lots of free powersets and archetypes to choose from, and 1,000 or so hours of free content. But yes, the population isn't the highest. Stick to Virtue and/or Freedom if you want to see another living soul lol.

Punishing people into grouping is bad design.

Rewarding people into grouping is good design.

It's #22, just behind DCUO on Xfire among MMORPGs. Its played graph is indeed looking very stable.

You are fast running out of "real games".

Human beings are bad at reality.

In order of rising strength, the enhancements in the game are: Training Origin (TO), Dual Origin (DO), Single Origin (SO), Generic Invention Origin (IO), Hamidon Origin (HO),  Invension Origin Set (IO).

There are times in the leveling curve when SOs are better than Generic IOs, and times (especially level 38 and after) when Generic IOs are better than SOs.

When you get SOs from Death from Below, DO NOT USE THEM. Instead, go to the store that matches the origin of the enhancement (Natural, Tech, Science, Mutant or Magic) and SELL THEM. This will give you good inf. It's pointless to use them if you're running DFBs because you'll outlevel them very quickly and the opportunity to sell them will have been lost for no real benefit.

You may also want to go into your options and select the option that lets you earn double inf instead of xp while exemplared. This can be a good source of inf for the lowbie as well.

I really feel sorry for the guy. He's an idealist gamer, a bad businessman, and probably had people working for him that abused his trust. Also, this is why you form a corporation, and don't entangle your personal finances with it.

I can really see SOE's side of this one. I mean come on, the people getting a year's worth of Gold membership for $15 had to know that wasn't going to last. Though I agree, there needed to be a good week or two's notice on this, but SOE being SOE, that didn't happen. No surprise there.

Still, I shed no tears for those getting a year's sub for $15. That needed nerfing and they know it.

P.S. At current rate of decline, assuming 500,000 subs is the break-even point that they can't go below, free-to-play should be announced in December of 2013.
