Here's a reactivation code hot off the email! 2A7D-8NJE-PWXS-YFAP-E44H (updated Feb 6, 2012)

Making new f2p accounts buy Masterminds and Controllers, okay, fair enough. But locking returning players out of their characters was not a good move for the business model.

I think it's beautiful he doesn't let Down's Syndrome hold him back from enjoying life! Very inspirational!

Meh, the videos of atmospheric flight looked really lame. Ships popping in and out of the ground? How iconic and starwarsy!

Here's to another 15 years of Ultima Online!

*wonders what year this is*

*cringes at how the X-Com IP will be raped and mangled this time*

Regeneration and Fiery Aura Brutes do pretty well against Vahzilok since they have a heal that gives Toxic Resistance. You can activate the heal when you're not even damaged and the Toxic Resistance will stay on you for 2 minutes.

And just as the poster above me said, with a bit of practice dealing with Embalmed (the explody ones) is pretty easy. Just keep an eye on them and when they go into their "ima asplode" animation, jump away.

I'll also second the Dominators and Controllers comment he made. Damage type doesn't matter when they're not attacking due to being mezed. Note that the zombies are difficult to immobilize, though!

Let us know how your fights with the Vahzilok are going and good luck!

What are your Archetype and powersets? It's hard to tell what's going wrong without knowing what you're playing. Post your build if possible.

The best general tip for fighting Vahzilok I've found is kill the humans (Mortifactors first, then Reavers). Once the humans are gone the "zombies" get real dumb and you can kite them to great effect.

I didn't realize this game was still running. I guess Wizard101 stole its thunder.

The player's choice awards were recently held, so anyone looking for some good arcs to play can look at the results thread for some very good ones.

I would hate to die from multitude of poisonous gas.

VIP is the way to be! 500 free Points with this code: KSTQ-27VC-XXSA-R8DY-9GLF

500 free Paragon Points for resubscribing! KT64-JDTG-87HG-86MG-Y3JH

Check out the Excellent Arcs thread and the Contact Tree thread over at the forums if you haven't already.

The problem is, with a high-tier-reward vet like yourself, all they have to get you to subscribe is bases, the Incarnate system, and signature story arcs. If they let you have the bases and Incarnates for $3.50 a month, literally no one would be subscribing anymore. People would stop paying $15 a month and pay the $3.50 intead. The game would be dead pretty quick with that kind of revenue loss.

I highly recommend you forget about your old characters and roll up a brand new one. Run through the new low level arcs. Maybe purchase Street Justice because it's such a great set you just might be convinced playing on a Premium account is worth it after all. Try the game like that and see if you don't find some value in it. You just might like it.

P.S. I agree they made a really dumb move with the locking of IOs on returning players' characters. I don't doubt they've lost more than a few returning players to that very bad decision.

wasn't this suppose to be an Action Shot... The original contest called for a shot of the toon in action, or flying through the city... this winner is doing niehter.

Most of the finalists are doing neither. Perplexing.

Sherlock Ohms is my favorite of the bunch. Great outfit with a strong sense of character.

The winner's costume is very forgettable IMHO.

The problem is you ran a Blaster through Paragon City and a Brute through Praetoria. Try running a Blaster through Praetoria and a Brute through Paragon City and compare.

And what's up with changing the tutorials?

The old tutorial was very boring and threw massive walls of text that nobody read. The new one may be a bit of a ChampO rip, but it's far superior, and you continue to get taught the game all the way up to level 20.

The point made in the above post about Incarnate abilities being easily ignored is true but has one exception: if you play standard content on teams in the level 45-50 range, the Incarnated players will be running the show and you'll feel like a spectator. So plan on soloing in that level range or teaming up with freeps and preems exclusively if you don't want to feel inadequate.

No, Villain story arcs are much more streamlined, all in the same zone, and generally shorter. Hero story arcs give you the run around and can be excessively long. With more experience in the game, you will see this is true.

Now, from an actual difficulty standpoint, Villain story arcs are generally harder than Hero arcs. However, they both pale in comparison to Praetorian story arcs which are the most difficult of all (due to errors in mob design not scaling them appropriately for low levels).

Lime Odyssey? What's p2p music sharing software doing on this site? *snicker*
