Too funny. Now because AV is late getting the game up and running (which should surprise noone) the game isn't going to launch. The 10,000 or so who have paid are just screwed... Let me get this straight... AV spent 7 years of their lives developing a game that they then scammed everyone out of for a what... $500,000 profit? Yep, that must be it! This is why there should be an age limit to post on forums. AV may be inept at a LOT of things, but spending nearly a decade of their lives to scam about 10,000 people out of a game that they have clearly built and refined would go long past ineptness right into complete stupidity beyond reason. The game will launch, it will launch late. Their PR will suck. People will complain about every little thing that goes wrong. The game will start slow and develop into a steady and moderate playerbase. Those who have spent months if not years whining and trolling these forums, along with others, will buy and play Darkfall. They will act as childish and ignorant in-game as they do in the forums, and the rest of us will be left to deal with them in-game. It sucks, it's life. It's a shame that pre-teens can get acess to a gaming forum and prove their asses like this.
Hell, 95% of the crap that you whiners bitch about doesn't even follow basic logic. It's still a good read though. It's like a car wreck. You don't want to look at it but you can't help yourself.

I knew they couldn't deliver a game that they hyped up to this extent. That said, I can honestly say that as far as gameplay, Darkfall is better than any MMO I have played, currently on the market. I am a big fan of Morrowwind and Oblivion. It really does feel a LOT like Oblivion. That works just fine for me as it will work just fine for a lot of people. So you don't want to play Darkfall based on what you have read or heard... GREAT, don't play. It leaves one less noob running around on the server acting like a 10 year old who I would just have to gank anyway. No big loss for the game, no big loss for AV, no big loss for the MMO industry, no big loss at all. Don't go away mad, just go away.
So you are saying that a mmog has a single player game feel to it? That is a great selling point. Thanks for the heads up, I know not to even waste my time. I was excited about this game for a long time, but honestly, the DF community (outside of Darkstar, who I think presents his views usually in a very intelligent manner) is what has killed any desire I have for this game. Add in that AV has completely screwed up the pre order, beta, release, and have constantly went back on their word does not help. It is rather sad when I rather give SOE my money than AV, and I have a complete hatred for SOE.
Yep. You should probably stick to winning titles such as Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and EQ II. Much more user-friendly. By the way, just because the gameplay mechanics of a game FEEL like a single player RPG such as Oblivion, doesn't mean that game is a single-player game. A LOT of MMO games play like a crap version of any of the Final Fantasy games, yet they maintain MMO status. Get a grip dude. Stick to Vanguard, it's much easier to play and you don't have to worry about seeing other players in-game. You have virtually the entire server all to yourself! |

Then you eather have never played oblivion or Darkfall or your lying. Darkfall world is totally different from oblivion but look in many ways like morrowind only much better grafhics and AC2, specially some areas with plants and trees almost copyed ferom AC2. Darkfall only resembelence is morrowind, the mobs is Darkfall are both high AI and stupid AI and i mean realy stupid AI that easyely can be exploited. Mobs in oblivion dont act at all like Darkfall ones.
You haven't even played Darkfall. What do you know? I wasn't talking about the "world" I said "gameplay"... Apparently English is a 2nd language to you as well... The "world" of Darkfall is pretty unmatched in any MMO I have seen. The gameplay is a lot like Oblivion. I know, tough concepts for you 12 year olds. Try to keep up lad, try to keep up. |

When a game has more negatives than positives, that makes it garbage. From everything I have seen and for everything others have posted, The negatives to me more than out weigh anything positive in the game. Your opinion is DF is great, Mine is that isn't worth my time or my money. We can pull down MMORPG.com game list a sec, and there are easy 10 games on that list that shit on DF graphics and animations wise. There are 10 games on that list that do any given aspect of DF better. The ONLY thing I can tell that DF has that others games do not is the ability to loot a body of a person you kill. So THAT is worth full game price and 15 bucks a month? The ability to loot a body?
No thanks I will pass, It isn't even a good looking pvp game, like I said If I wanted to John McEnroe someone to death I wouldn't do it in DF, I would get a sword and head to a tennis court.... Yeah that is how bad the melee animations are in this game, looks like a tennis backswing over and over 7000 times. With a blood poof after every swing.... pretty lame. Sad part is, for people who know better, you don't even believe in the game yourself. Which is evident because you all vigorously defend it so much. A truely great game needs no defense. DOesn't even need a post. It just delivers. Head over to the wow forum and look at all the hate... I rarely post there, you know why? Not because I play it, I used to but I stopped. WoW doesn't need to be defended. Because wow defends itself. WoW eats competition for breakfast and spews remains of dead games all around it. It doesn't need fans to back it up. Every fan of wow on the planet could never visit a forum, and it wouldn't make that game any less than it is right now. FFXI another game that will always stand the test of time. Years have passed and it still hanging on to about the same subs over a constant amount of time. It doesn't need defense on a forum cause it is just that good. LotRO had prolly the best launch of any MMO to date. It also has some of the smoothest gameplay and better community fo the games on the market today. People try to bash it, but what are you bashing really? Nothing because LotRO speaks for itself. It is just that good.
What does DF say? It says I have horrid graphics with horrid animations, with mediocre gameplay on a system so bad hackers can tear me apart. With a dev team so small and in experienced it couldn't deal with them if it wanted to. Hell it can't even release on time, much less deal with cheaters. Yeah DF needs you guys here, it needs defense and it needs all the help it can get. So I don't care what you guys say or do. Have fun in a mediocre world, if you can ever get into it.

Ummm LOL, if you take 95% of the players and transfer them to 6 servers, it stands to reason that those 6 servers would see an increase in population... This isn't rocket science. There aren't NEW players, it's the same old 10,000 that have been paying to play this beta for years now. |

As I watch my 3 year old son play Lego Star Wars these things jump out: 1.) It is more "iconic" than SWG will ever be. 2.) It actually has collision detection. 3.) Combat works, and it requires more skill than SWG. 4.) It actually follows a timeline. 5.) It is more fun to play and watch than SWG. I'm pretty sure that Lego Star Wars was intended for an audience a few years younger than that of SWG but it is pretty funny how it certainly meets more of the criteria that LucasArts always states they aimed for in SWG. If Lego Star Wars was in MMO form, there is a good chance that it would carry a higher subsriber-base than SWG does. Good times on the Wii. |

This poll is absurd. Darkfall hasn't even released yet and anyone who played beta will tell you it is far more ready than MOST MMO games they have played. Darkfall will be fine. SWG was successful for 3 years before they ruined it. So it wasn't a total flop. EQ 2 isn't a disaster. Dark and Light should win this easily. |

The game STILL has a lot of the bugs it had at launch and they aren't going away. This game will NEVER have collision. You will always be shooting through walls. You will always see the occasional rat spawning in a rock. There will ALWAYS be rubberbanding with your speeder, etc. The OP is simply lying to this message board. I encourage anyone who wants a good laugh to download the free trial and see what it's like to do some of the missions in this game, participate in the busted combat, or watch the particle effects. SWG has always been one of the most buggiest MMO games on the market. The only difference is during Pre-CU there were a lot of players and there was freedom. Now you have dead servers and the same linear crap you get in every other MMO. The OP is simply not accraute in his/her/it's assessment of this *beta*, I mean game. |

If the combat engine is indicative of how combat and space travel is going to play out in this game (which it is likely pretty close to what it will be) then Infinity will be much more dynamic than EVE. EVE is great at what it does and it is a good game. It's the sole surviving sandbox among all MMO games and a lot has to be said for that. The engine is going to separate this game from EVE, though. It's all about the engine and optimizing every bit of memory and action. The end result, if this continues, is going to reflect that attention to detail. I'm anticipating this game will be a solid MMO with a decent enough population of players. They reallly need to step up the development process to keep everyone motivated though. |

To the OP: Carebears are welcome, heck, we hope you decide to play. It's easy ganking and easy target practice for the other PvPers. You'll find a lot of us are a tad more difficult than a WoW NPC on auto-attack. So I hope to see you in-game soon. Carebears rock! Without sheep a wolf has nothing to do |

The truth about SWG from a person who plays the game.
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 1/28/09 2:42:39 AM
Truth? As in YOUR opinion? LMAO. You can have your truth and I will continue to agree with the 9/10 people who try SWG and don't continue to play it. The game STILL has bugs from 2003. The game STILL has no collision detection. The game STILL has a very low population, hence server merges. The game STILL has hyper-inflated economies as a result of adding loot drops and having 5 year vets on servers. The game is STILL designed for the WoW target audience and requires no skill, no thought, and offers no risk. The game STILL has combat that overlaps code not designed for the engine to handle. There are PLENTY of reasons why most people find SWG is not worth paying to play. There are also a few of you who will come here long after SWG has been shut down telling us how good the game is/was. Heck, for that matter I suspect we will see all sorts of NGE emulators, right? *Laughs* You want the truth? You can't HANDLE the truth! |

When did WARHAMMER look good? It was pretty evident in development that WAR was a WoW wrip-off. It never looked good to a lot of us. |

Been watching this game for several years now. Really unique gameplay and a great engine. I don't see how it might fail. There is too much perfectionism going into this game for it not to succeed. |
