Well foot in mouth about Torlight, but in all fairness goto there website it is all about Torchlight the single-player dungeon crawler. Seems they are pretty tight lipped on the over MMO itself. Main point still stands though. Do the companies themselves have to request to be put on the list or what? |
|
|
How can something like Torchlight be in the game list for MMORPG? Archeage just got it's self on the list and it is has been in development for sometime. Also Fallout Online is being developed by Interplay and that isn't on the list either, but effing Torchlight is? Who filters and decides when games are added and who is their manager, because it doesn't take a theoretical physicist to figure that out. Take off Torchlight and add Fallout Online http://www.fallout-on-line.com/ |

Dont expect their bug/exploit fixes to be any faster on a larger scale. What killed the game for me, I got tired of hearing Henrik on the IRC chat say what is coming in the game and not seeing anything of that nature put into affect. I played beta, release, and 7 months after release if you question my actual gameplay. I hope you find the fun you are looking for, but don't expect a polished game by any means. It can be fun still, but I got tired of exploit after exploit. |

I choose Xsyon considering if I wanted to play LotRO, WoW, Vanguard, etc.. I would why pick up another rendition of those that being Rift. I have preordered Xsyon some months ago and I was in Rift beta the recent ones, but I cannot get myself to play the beta based on the same old same old, how can I get myself to purchase it. I don't play the pre-release of Xsyon as I did, but with wipes still coming I find no purpose until it is final. |
|

Yes there is a wipe, I believe Feb 14th. Also they are supposed to unlock a lot of the features the game has to offer. So right now there isn't much to do in the game and because it is a pre-order only beta, the population isn't that large and sometimes almost null. The world is freaking huge and the game offers some interesting aspects, I pre-ordered it like one month ago and waiting for the big patch that is coming before I do anything else in game. |

To be honest I am not surprised at all. I let my sub expire and have zero plans on resubbing. Also, I am making a prediction that either SV fixes the game and saves what is left of the sub base and possibly gains a few more or they are going to suffer a miserable fail and this game is pulled before the year is over. It honestly takes them to be going in the negatives for a little bit before they just can't afford to keep working on a game they aren't making money back on. There development model is awful, how can you be developing all this stuff to add in the game and not actual fix the real issues with the game, E.g. exploiting/hacking. To me it seems they are stacking shit on shit to make a big pile that will eventually have to be resolved to be successful. I really enjoyed this game during beta because I was willing to accept the flaws the game has, but once release came and all these things Henrik talked about didn't happen I was truely disappointed, so I canceled. About a month ago I thought this game has to be better by now so I resubbed. Wow I was truely surprised that the game was almost exactly the same with a few minor additions (Compass, random loot bags), but I also noticed a ton of bugs still and heard about new ones that were be exploited on top of figuring out how to exploit a bug they had with books myself, after I had figured that out, I lost all interest in the game and chalked this company up to pure FAIL. Back to the drawing board I go and no MMO to play as I can't seem to find one that suffices to my gaming needs. |

Originally posted by Thallantyr You say PVE (WoW). Firstly, wow didn't invent the target/attack method. However this seems to be the most disappointing aspect to the game thus far (But I think I can manage, seeing it is an FPS based MMO). Being able to target is a lot better than re-targeting every time you have to attack, and since this isn't a FPS style game, how else would they incorporate a non-target base system? I do however have a feeling this is the closest to UO we will see as a whole, and the developers do state they are trying to capture the best features that WoW, UO, Lineage 2 had/have. Each one of those games had awesome features and had very annoying/disappointing features. I have played all of them UO being my first MMO every played a long time ago. But just like you I am "dying to see how it comes together." It does indeed look very promising. EDIT** Great find btw I enjoyed the videos and seems to be the most promising game in the next couple of years. |

I pre-ordered this game in hopes of finding a new MMO to play as I am currently between them. I do like the direction Xsyon is taking and I am very interested when they release the patch in february as it is supposed to unlock a lot of the features this game has to offer. For now I am not playing Xsyon because I have absolutely nothing to do, and that isn't because just lack of current features it is mainly lack of people to socially interact with. To me that is the biggest downfall to this game, but it is understandable considering you only get beta access if you pre-ordered it. I think they should open the beta up, but that is just me. In regards to this, DFO, or MO, I would choose DFO if you like PVP and MO if you like to be out done by someone who exploited the system and still are. I played MO in beta and at release, than I stopped and recently resubbed to see what changed. MO is going to bomb this year, I don't see how they can stay alive with the game nearly taking no fixes. You can still run hacks that teleport, speedhack, stamina hack, you can exploit finishing books faster than normal by crossing certain areas of server lines and leaving the area to come back and finish. I am going on a tangent, but that is because I am highly disappointed with SV. Bac to Xsyon, so far this game has some actual potential, I am curious to see what happenes come february patch, to me this is going to make or break the game for me. They are a small team with some previous programmer issues as stated by them. Bottom line, wait till after February for the patch and see what people say about the game then, if there are significant updates to the game and the developers get in a lot of what is promised I think we might have an unpolished diamond if not I guess it is just another rock ready to sink (I hope not). Everything above is purely opinion based on personal experience. |

I wouldn't worry about it to much, I have plenty of friends who have purchased gold in WoW and nothing ever happened to them. I'm not talking like 1k, Im talking like multiples of 5k and a few 10k's I personally never had a problem making gold in WoW but not all my friends are into farming for gold or consistently doing the AH thing. I would tell your friend to feel lucky that someone decided to empty there alt bank and give it to someone instead of just quiting like I did. |

I played beta for awhile and coming from DFO being the last MMO I played I would say it was familiar controls wise, but everything else has it's own uniqueness, the combat is a little slower and with stamina drain you don't have the retarded figure eight melee combat. If you like DFO chances are you will like MO, the only thing they don't have is free based aiming for magic, but they have there way of balancing it out so mages aren't OP. With all the new features and changes to the system, it should be a different game from what Henrik stated on there IRC channel when I was playing MO. Sounded like it would be a lot more similar to Oblivion, which I hope this proves to be true but since beta has been down, will have to see come the 9th. I had a lot of fun pvping in this game, and it is good to group up with a good group of people and not a$$hats as they become targets for the people looking for RPer's and noob campers. I know we have gone in raiding groups of 20+ looking for people praying on the noobs and just random reds. I hope you give this a good shot since you enjoyed DFO as did I. EDIT** Typos Also this game is the closest I have seen to UO since the good old days. I am young but I am a gaming old timer. HAHA! |

General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 3/26/09 12:39:51 PM
Yea I got the email, but I couldn't log in either account is inactive, I looked all over to see if there was something I was missing and there wasn't. I just resubbed since I was going to go back anyways. The whole xp requirements has been revamped so if you kill something you gain quite a few lvls till it evens out, I was lvl 21 and I gained 3 lvls now I am all evened out. I don't think I get the bonus XP, but oh well. I don't need things handed to me! Would have been cool though. |

Oh MMORPG fans, what has happened to us? We have been so spoiled with carebear games and easy to play games that we all forgot how a grind was normal on some of the best MMO's ever released. Why does everyone want the game to be so easy and achievable? I remember the days of UO where you had to tame all day to get a few more % into your skill and it went up in .1 increments, just to get a white dragon tamed so you could have a pet or get a mare. Everyone complains about the grind, what has happened to the pride of having a bad ass account that you worked your ass off for. I personally don't like grinding either, but I remember the days where being legendary in your skill was something to be proud of, now everyone wants it in a few weeks of playing. Say what you will, but everyone who knows what I am talking about, knows the truth! |

IO Capiral Princess LLC has nothing to do with games of any sort, no engine, no wages unpaid, it is a community of small businesses. This doesn't reflect the status of there game or the pockets, aside from there statement of having financial issues. Just google IO Capital Princess LLC and you can see for yourselves. |

I am not trying to read anything into it. But it makes a difference if you are trying to get this game and are a huge fanboy of it. As opposed to just not interested in any MMO right now and are just looking for something.
I will not buy this game. It is just not what I am looking for. B ut I look a review of a game and make my own decision on it's validity. (Both the review and the game) I don't see a reason to post like what you posted other than being a fanboy or someone looking to start something. In other words, why are you posting your opinion of "his" review if you don't care about the game?
Lol a "Fanboi", I don't play MMO's right now because I don't have time, if I were to pick an MMO to play like I stated before. Yes I am an MMO fan not specific but I hope this game gets better I never said the game is great I never said it was bad just that this review is horrible and the fact he stated because of not being able to macro now even makes this more of a bogus biased review. You my friend sound like you would like to start something. As you stated my opinion and it is what it is, you picked at me. |

The simple fact that you have quit twice, makes me question your whole motive about playing MMO's. Just like the other reply I think it shows your lack of patience and I bet you do this commonly in games period, nothing particular to MMO's only. I personally think this is another biased game review... and notice I am not playing Darkfall, but if I picked it up I wouldn't take what you said as any reasoning for getting or not getting this title. |

Are you high? What makes you think you ever have to solicit for WoW? LOL this made me laugh though. |
