Well, looks like I'm gonna be returning to WoW. Was planning on picking up AoC or Warhammer but when I saw the trailer and the features... man I slapped myself for having quit 3 months ago. Now I gotta see if my guild will take me back.

I am 110% sure it has already started...

Well yeah it's cool that they are focusing on PVP. Howeveer this PVP focus does != automatic success. Hell look at DAoC; we all know how "massively" popular it is (sarcasm). And yes I agree with the OP, if you don't like the idea of a PVP centric game, don't play it, don't troll about it, just find something that might suit your gamestyle (AoC, WoW, etc.)

Wow there are still people playing this game

I know two VERY close people that neither have über system specs nor have they ever played DAoC and they got into Beta. They got their email this week.

It sucks when your best friend or brother gets into closed beta and they're like: I got in the Beta lol!

And I'm like:

There might be something in it. Important.

omg tit's!!!!!!1111one111!!!eleven
Half Life and Fallout 2. Coincidentally IMO, 2 of the best if not the best games ever made.
Out of nowhere the question popped into my head... and my brain almost exploded as I couldn't and still cannot decide. Interested to find out what you guys and gals think.
I never knew whining could reach this level... Of all the things you could ask for betterment (word?) in an MMORPG; you ask for the removal of jumping and running in circles

Seriously can you imagine WoW without jumping? What would you possibly do to pass time between BG queues? /jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump
/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump/jump
I tend to agree with DKirby. 'Course my xfire sig tells the story
Flyff... lol
I have question... well maybe not a question but a concern. Why did the devs feel a need to copy the class system that was originally implemented in EQ2?

This is the one thing that I really disliked about EQ2. And in fact it seems I wasn't alone since they did away with it in the latest expansion. The whole pick archetype, level up, pick specialization, level up, pick further specialization, has been tried and it has generally failed. If you come to the realization that maybe the specialization you picked isn't what you thought it would be, then you just lost a whole lotta time and effort as generally, no way is given to be able to revert the choice. Whereas if you simply have specific classes from the get go, you usually have a pretty good idea if you like the class or not in a couple of levels.

And I admit that my concern may be unfounded as I don't have access to the game and perhaps I will change my mind once I get my hands on the game. But anyway... there you go.
They said the beta will start this summer... Does that mean from today on out? Anyway, please post if anyone gets their beta key.
That after all this time and all the other MMO's out there; WoW is still this popular, has to say something about how good the game is.
After playing my buddy pass key; and getting past the initial hype... IMO the game has nothing new to it. The class customization is HORRIBLE. The repair costs are ridiculous. And no I'm not a fanboy of Tolkien nor of the LOTR movies. I liked them, but you know... And really; I shouldn't have to be a fanboy or an LOTR freak in order to love the game. When I got into wow, I hadn't even played any of the WC series. Only Starcraft and Diablo. And WoW from the beginning got me hooked. It was like a drug.

This game doesn't have that. When you get past the pretty graphics, and the hype... there's not much meat to the game.
I don't see anything wrong with busting your ass off to get uber weaps/armor and steamrolling noobs. You put the time in; you expect the rewards. IMO, this is too much babying if they put caps you cant go beyond and such. This will be a big mistake that will put off a lot of the hardcore audience out there.

I'm already disappointed to tell you the truth.
