I would strongly recommend EVE Online. It has a very strong pvp aspect, crafting system, cash system, questing system etc. players OWN entire systems and bases and do pretty much whatever they chose , large player battles of 100 vs 100 players are all in the same system attacking each other with very light latentcy!
Its not a clickclickclickclick style game, you need to conserve energy, use consumables and use your piloting to play.
its nothing like freelencer.
Take the trial or youtube it, i enjoyed it for a good 2 years before recently playing warhammer online
my past games are WOW (long time), Anarchy online, FF11, DAOC, Earth and Beyond, Atlantica, EVE, tabula rasa...
IMO, The game has inmproved quite a bit from release. I remember other mmos i played taking at least 6 months to a year to reach the improvements im seeing now (lag/crash wise).
I played wow, AO, AOC, EVE, FF11, SWG(god i hated swg) and none of these games have the improvement speed ive seen in WAR. There are still some dumb errors (spell effects that wont leave my feet, mounts that persist where you dismounted from them) and features that desperately need to be implemented (dungeon group chat channels available on global chat).
The keep sieges are actually doable for me now.
I only renewed my subscription because they actually fixed what i left for.
Population imbalance is killing this game very quickly..

Quote from the Person who started the post...
"This game will die a silent death, apart from the shuffling of Orc feet and the picking of noses from smelly Goblin fingers."
"Do something soon or it's over."
If this were true, world of warcraft, the worlds most popular mmorpg would have failed a silent death in the first 6 months. my server balance out of beta for about 2 years was 75% alliance (Lightbringer server).
Gorefiend, the last server i played has never had better then 40% horde...
On the Warhammer Online server i play, gorfang, the chaos to order win/loss ratio is 50%
Soooooo ... ?! ...
