Actually he picks a very important part. No matter what you may say wow was missing things that was planed, just because it got by without them doesnt mean they didnt lie to us or w/e you want to call.

Continue that and now these features that was suppose to be in at launch are now a xpac but we forget since it was a long while ago.

Take that same logic and apply to WAR. Quests are in and work , PQ's work , technicly they didnt have all their planed classes cause hero classes was up on there, and we are just now seeing them. They changed their mind for balancing reasons remember .We have siege weapons, we have RVR we have a capital to attack we have the mechanics.

I'm sorry guys, but WoW released way better than this.

For one, It was not missing half of it classes.

Second, it was not missing any cities.

Third, what it was missing was not core to the game.

This eclipses WoWs release.

The part you are missing is this.  They may have had all that crap in the game, but it wasn't finished.  Some classes did not have talents and most of the classes that had talents had crap.  Remember Hunters with no talents?  How about Druids with only resto?

Cities were in, but they were pointless.  A couple quests, some trainers, they all didn't even have Auction Houses in them.  Just because you feel that was finished doesnt mean it wasnt crap.

It had no pvp system and no completed raid content at launch.  I call that core to the game, especially at launch when there was no such thing as heroics or alternate gear advancement.

I played WoW from beta up until about 2 months ago.  No one is going to pull the wool over my eyes with what was or was not in at release.  Sorry.

They should push it back me thinks, but if they can pull it off bravo.  Otherwise they will get exactly what they put in.

LOL:

  2.4
  Sunwell Plateau
  Sunwell Isle
  New Daily Quests
  And much more

You have traveled through the Dark Portal and braved the perils of Outland; you faced off against the might of the Burning Legion itself, and you prevailed. Now the journey that began with the arrival of the draenei on Azeroth and the blood elves' inclusion into the Horde is about to come full circle as a mighty army gathers to purge evil from one of Azeroth's most important loci of power: the ancient, magical Sunwell.

  2.3

  Guild Banks
  Faster Leveling to 60
  And much more

The stronghold of Zul'Aman has stood for millennia as the Amani trolls' seat of power and bastion of the fearless, cunning warlord Zul'jin.
Zul'jin has spent several years plotting behind Zul'Aman's walls. Furious at the Horde for allowing his hated enemies, the blood elves, to join its ranks, he eagerly embraced a scheme that the witch doctor Malacrass recently proposed: to seal the power of the animal gods within the bodies of the Amani's strongest warriors.

Now Zul'Aman's army grows more powerful by the day, hungry to exact vengeance in the name of its fearless leader, Zul'jin.

  2.1
  The Black Temple
  Druid Epic Flight Form
  Nether Drake
  And much more

The Temple of Karabor was the center of draenei worship until its priests were slaughtered by demonically corrupted orcs. In the massacre's aftermath the warlocks of the Shadow Council seized the structure and gave it a new name: The Black Temple.
When the Alliance invaded Draenor after the Second War, the orc shaman Ner'zhul hastily opened several dimensional portals in order to escape. The resulting magical backlash ripped the world apart. Drawn by these portals, the pit lord Magtheridon arrived in what had come to be known as Outland and took the temple as his seat of power.

His dominion over Outland remained unchallenged until the arrival of Illidan the Betrayer. The pit lord proved no match for the wielder of the Twin Blades of Azzinoth. Today Illidan occupies the temple, awaiting any and all who would challenge his rule.

Sure looks like everything was in WoW at launch...

You also don't recall they promised siege weapons, a pvp system, multiple raids, and all classes to have completed talents.  Well none of that happened at launch so get over yourself.

The news sucks but as long as the gameplay is good I will still play.

Also losing 4 classes out of 24 is 1/6=16.666%  not 25%.  Learn mathematics please.

I want to see the classes added withing 3months of launch, I would be patient upto 6 month.

I want to see the other four capitals in the game within 6 months, I would be patient upto 12 months.

If they fail to accomplish those goals the gameplay better be so phenomenal that I won't even remember what was cut out.  If it isn't,  I will be very disapointed.

Not to be an ass, but you are like the tenth person I have seen using the incorrect spelling of the word "CANCEL".  There is no H in it.  Sorry, but it had to be said.

I am in it for the IP.  The fact the gameplay sounds great and I like the way the game looks so far just means I will (hopefully) be subscribing after the first month.  I generally give all Warhammer games a shot.

I think the anticipation and all the nagative chatter that is vomitting forth from the internet just got to Browncoat.  Lets just hope he changes his tune once more information is out.  Simple case of being unable to see the forest because all the trees are in the way.

Great reply by Jeff.

These are the only things you ever need to post in order to participate in the stagnant wasteland that is a MMO forum.  Any alteration of these guidelines is fine, especially if you can make yourself believe what you wrote is original:

"The game I like is better than the game you like because I say so."

"I choose not to see any of the flaws my game has but I will quickly point out the flaws in yours."

"If your game has more subscribers than mine it is only because the people playing your game are dumb. "

"If my game has more subscribers than yours it is because my game is good."

"I want a game that will beat WoW because I can not enjoy my game unless WoW fails."

"EVE is the digital manifestation of Christ.  Only the true believers can understand its greatness."

"There are only three different types of posters on any forums.  Trolls, Fanbois, and Yourself."

"I am the only one on the forum without an agenda."

"I do not care about what you are saying, so I will reply to your post."

"Developers who hide all the information about their games are doing it to help development.  It has nothing to do with them being horrible game designers trying to spin PR."

I leave anything out?

If AoC is steak and wine, than the steak is raw and the wine is a bag of grapes.  The idea is there, but the end product does not exist yet.

Out of curiousity what is more important to you?  When you buy an MMO do you want a great game or a great world?  Let me clarify since thats a broad question.

Game: Gameplay.  The mechanics of the game, the flow of combat, crafting, aquisition of gear, leveling or skills...basically everything that the developers are in direct control of and equates to mathmatical values and coding.

World: Envirenments. The architecture, the landscapes, the visuals.  The ability to essentially "live" in this alternate reality.  Roleplaying, the ability to own a piece of said world or alter it, and stuff like city building. A sandbox basically..

I am not saying you can not have a little of both in a game or even a balance.  You may like them both evenly or wish to see them both fleshed out perfectly in your ideal game.

What the question is, given the choice between one or the other.  What would you choose?

Logic will never reach the close-minded.  Everyone who has been around the block knows that WoW coppied the EQ formula and improved it.  The also have alot of ex-EQ staff working for them now.  The original WoW staff is all but gone.  If you did not play EQ back when it was released you will not understand the blatent similarities between both EQ and WoW.

Anyone who is willing to put in the time will see that Warcraft got most of its ideas and lore from Warhammer.  It is common knowledge.  It is not some huge conspiracy.  Blizzard presented Games Workshop with two ideas.  One was for a Fantasy RTS based on Warhammer lore and the other was a Sci-fi RTS based on Warhammer 40k lore.  Games Workshop turned down the deal so Blizzard decided to self publish since the already had alot of the game mechanics in place.  The put the Sci-fi game on the back burner since they did not haev the money to fund both games.  The altered the art work for the game enough not to be infronging on copyrights and then they came up with some quick lore ( about 20 pages).  They released the game Warcraft: Orcs vs Humans and it was a success.  The Sci-fi game on the back burner was eventually altered and what was originally Space Marines vs Eldar vs Tyranids became Starcraft with Terrans vs Protoss vs Zerg. The rest is history.

WoW's UI is not original, look at games that came out prior.  It coppied them.  If you check out the UI for AC you can see huge similarities.  WoW's combat system is not unique, again it coppied from other games.  The combat animations in WoW are not robust.  Melee have one animation with varrying particle effects for their special attacks.  Casters are the same with one casting animation for offense and one for defense, they just change the particle effect colors.

The blatant stupidity coming from people who say WAR is a clone of WoW is just irritating.  I do not care what game you like or dislike.  What I am tired of is all the liars and uninformed sheep who say what other idiots before them have said in an attempt to either sound profound or make WoW look like the second coming of Christ.

The question is a bit odd.  Think of the reason why shields were invented in the first place.  Now think about what you are trying to do as a tank.

Can you tank with a greatsword?  Sure.  Will a guy tanking with a shield be better at mitigating damage than you?  You can bet on it.  Which one do you think a group is more likely to pick up?

It is your choice, but you can not expect to be good at everything just because you want to use a certain weapon.  Thats like using your arrows as melee weapons because you like the way they look.  Weapons and tools were created for a reason.  This may be a fantasy game, but alot of the mechanics are based on real life.

Thing is the hate machine isn’t working  aside from a handful of zealots posting their daily BS here...AoC continues to kick ass sales wise.

Sales do not make a game great.  You assume that everyone who buys the game continues to play it.  You also buy into Funcom's PR spin.  Seriously "One Million units shipped" and "700,000 accounts created" does not equal "One Million copies sold" or "700,000 active accounts".

I also like your last line "AoC continues to kick ass sales wise".   There is a bit of admition on your part that the game isn't kicking ass in every sense of the word.  Just sales wise.

Succede or fail I do not care.  The lack of foresight on these forums is mind blowing.

Anyway. Cloning WOW/EQ formula doesn't make that mmo successful, the opposite infact. I think allot of people want something different. Not games lke AOC or LOTRO but something different, something more like EVE but with a easier learning curve and a balance between linear storytelling and sandbox game play /virtual world content and the possibility to affect the world.

If this statement were true, more people would be playing EVE.  The truth is, more people want to play a game like WoW.  That is why it is selling more.  Does that mean WoW is better?  No at all.  It just means that more people are interested in it.

When EVE has numbers that are anything near what WoW has you will see developers put serious effort into improving that formula.  Until then, sandbox type games will remain a niche market.

More people want to play a "game" then play in a "world".  Proven by sales.

What is the point of PvE for that matter?  When you break down anything eventually you realize it is pointless, so stop worrying about it.

PvE = You vs. the Programer.  No matter what you do you are playing against a person.  The only difference is that PvE targets have a set routine you can learn and exploit.  PvP targets are able to learn and adapt at a moments notice.  It is more challenging.  Not better, just more challenging.

I recently started playing LotRO.  Played for about 5 days and decided to buy it and get a 3 month subscription.  There is grouping all over the place.  Yes you can level to cap solo, but why?  If your whole goal in the game is just to hit the level cap then you are not enjoying it.  Slow down, read the quests, spend the time to get a group (takes me no longer than 30min tops), and enjoy the world.

If you are into RP I highly recomend Landroval (server), tons of stuff to do that doesn't involve leveling.  The problem with most games is that people feel the need to rocket through the levels to get to the end game.  In LotRO I am thoroughly enjoying myself by slowing down and actually looking at what I am doing.  LotRO is more of a world than a game like many MMOs.

If you are looking for a good community and an interesting storyline, I recommend LotRO.

You need to realize, as it was stated earlier, they SHIPPED 1 million copies.  Does not say they SOLD 1 million copies.  Find out how many they sold, without guessing or pulling numbers out of the air, and then post about how successfull it is.

The comparison to LotRO is perfect as far as sub numbers go.  I can easily see them maintaining between 100-200k subs for the long haul.
