if we played a game that was easy, no penalty, no negative effect, that would be a game that has lost many gamers or gained many gamers due to the "softcore" level. Work has many differnt meanings, the work i meant isn't as OMGWTF insanely hard, looking at WAR something like "kill 2 dwarfs to redeem your "X motivation back" sometimes the WORK can be fun? imo. WoW became a 2nd job for most people (raiding) |

Think of it this way, every skill takes a cast time, every one is NEEDED.
1 Healer and they still suck. 3 DPS and they can't really dps 1 tank 1 CC that doesnt even CC well.... conclusion: This is like the twin brother of WoW but more mentally retarded (slow) really takes time and effort to get used to this gameplay.
I've played my LM past lv 30 and it was very slow, though unique in a way. |

I think a death penalty would be nice, it would keep the player more active, cautious, and aware of the player's surroundings. Something that hinders our character for a short time, or a gear lost for X amount of time
something unique that will make players work toward to recieving what they lost or something... dunno if i'm making sense

Hey I played WoW for 2.5 years, and finally quit, not because it was boring, but because I wanted to try out new mmorpgs >.> Sure this addiction is strong, but my mental will can overcome anything with support. All you need is a strong will to quit. That's what addiction does, it diminishes our will to nothingness, but if you have a strong one, you can quit anytime. Trust me, I've seen this happen before. |

The Chronicles of Spellborn: Part Four: Races and Classes
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/09/07 12:25:37 AM
I think having multiple races and a variety of classes ( around 8-10, like most MMORPGs) give the game its own "oomph" Having played many mmorpgs, classes with more than just 3 boring starting archetype, then QUESTING to see if you like it not is just plain boring. EQ was alright when they did this, so this concept is not new. There is no uniqueness to this game, even the classes are soo related to eachother, they offer no "specialty" to use. take FFXI for example, they did a good job with their job system, having you reach a certain level to unlock new classes, and you can change anytime! This job and race system just plain out bores me to death. A game like this is going to fail, just like vanguard. my 2 cents. |
