Its been said several times now that they aim to release the old season 1 content in replayable story blocks, So it will be in the same form as season 2

Having missed much of season 1, i am looking forward to this

But when will this available, did anyone hear or see a date?  Or did they cancel this plan?

With the expansion still far away, this would be a good time to release such a thing.

I have heard the same thing, so I think they still want to do it. Maybe as part of the expansion? I will be honest with you though, Season 1 wasn't great at all so you really are not missing much.

The best things were always the seasonal events (Super Adventure Box and stuff like this).

I even understood they would upgrade the quallity of the quests to the same level as season2 but keep the stories intact..

I doubt there's anyone who's ever played GW2 that would expect expansions to be free. After all, the game has no subscription and all updates have been free. I have no problem with paying for an expansion whatsoever. It's the right move for ArenaNet.

Also worth noting Anet stated in the beginning im pretty sure the Expansions would be handled in Guild Wars 2 the same as they were in Guild Wars. The only difference will maybe be the price(unless i over-looked it already posted). The price was $19.99 for Guild Wars Expansion but could easily jump to $49-$59 depending on new additions and the current way gaming expansions are prices vs way back when GW was doing the $20 expansions.

All this is speculation on my part and my $20 expansions for the original game may have been a reduced price as i started playing later after that game was already out a while.

To my knowledge the orriginal GW1 expansions (which where not expansiosn but full games on itselves cost the price of a full game at release..

maybe you joined the game later, and didnt pay the expansions at release...

For 10 bucks anyone should pick it up. Whether the end game is super fun or not seems to be up to per individual.

Personally I find it very strict and way too pigeon holed into achievement lists and all sorts of system that sort of punishes you for going out side the box.

Anyway, with close to a thousand hours logged I cant really complain. Maybe this expansion will get me back.

I think thats the answer... 1000 hours of fun for only €10...  An offer only a fool can resist..

Very disappointed they did not add more weapons and skills only adding 1 new heal 1 new elite and a couple utilities wont be enough to last me a month let alone 2+ years.

The expansion is probably a year or longer away....

they are adding several specialisations for every class, i would say atleast 3, and there is a new mastery system that also influences your combat... All those specialisations offer a whole new set of skills and abillities.... And the mastery system will be very deep and will probably work like an AA system...

sadly it will never become the skillcollecting game, we all know from GW1

The never said "several specializations". They never said utilities came with the specialization either. Only 1 weapon. I watched it too... Maybe they could say what you said in the future, Colin certainly didn't say it on stage though.

They said that each specialization will allow a profession to use a new weapon. There is nothing mentioned regarding how many specializations there would be for every profession, if it is only 1 or multiple, it is not confirmed.

One specialisation would be just illogical...   Specialising means that there are several choices to specialise in...

end game in gw2 is basicly based around wvw bg pvp ..sure you can pve till end craft w/e set you need for "end game" but the game IS based around pvp dont let the pve / pvp mmo's fool you.. in gw2 its not really either or

There is more then enough PvE to keep you busy at max level...

completion, and exploration

dungeon runs and fractals

epic weapon grind

new story parts, being added regularly trough the living story content, its the only progression you have at max level

however, currently there is no progression in both PvE as in PvP, no gear progression, no character progression,   There is no reason to PvP either.  The game just has no typical endgame, its played to enjoy stories and lore...

My best bet is if you didnt like the orriginal game that much, you will not going to like this one either...

personall i love the character progression at max level part, i think thats what currently is missing in the game.

thats why i am happy with no new levels and no gear progression...

i dont think the way the game plays actually will change a lot...

thats why i am looking forward to this game, played 9 straight months at release, thats the longest for any game since the release of WoW.  And still playing on and off...

I dare say everyone with half a brain should understand this....

they need to make money after all....

More challenge

deep character progression

and luckilly no more vertical gear progression and no more levels....

sounds prommising for an allready great game, espescially the character progression part...

I love the video.... but one great system does not make a great game...   This looks prommising.... but there are some worries, just naming 3 here

1)  How about making combat really really fun (no fun combat means no fun game)

2)  Meaningfull NPC interactions and converstions, people are so used to this, that they would really miss it if it wasnt there

3) Personal goals for  the Players... in the end this system will boil down to fighting other NPCs battles time after time... what can players gain from it?   ..  will they have long time goals on top of these short time ones..

These are events on a major scale, but will there also be events on a smaller scale, like the ones we know from GW2, and will there be oldfashioned  epic Questing available...

The title says one thing,  but you yourself ask for 2 things..

if i had to ask for one thing, it would be even more fun then the orriginal game...

I am off now, playing other games till 17th of March, if they dont want my subscription money, i will make other use of it

And by 17th of March, we will see where the game leads us

Anyone else walking this route?

Looks pretty boring. Its a lot of spinning and big flashy crap. Seems like they are targeting the younger gamers with the style game they are making.

Boring? Thats because you might not understand the combat, its a combo system mostly, so you are allways making decisions and reacting to the world.....    You can not judge a combat system from a video, you need to egt into the details to understand what it is all about.

Its obvious, this game is all about combat...

Lets just hope in the end they dont make the same mistakes as DCUO, which ended up with a non living non immersive world..'Sadly thats where actionoriented games so far have ended up...   And i could not yet find any proof of this game being different... its a portal game...

Between the two GW2 does have a better feeling combat system.  Of all games, DCUO will always reign as the best combat system.  Always fluid,  always exciting.. always visceral, and very tactical too.

GW2 is about as good as a more traditional style hybrid can get.  Where you have target locks, and at least some ability to mitigate damage by dodging.   The combo fields are fun, though rarely thought of by the vast majority of players,  and unfortunately there are too few differences in class builds to make any player really unique in the way each fight takes place.

I agree here.  Having played both, GW2 is hands down a smoother and more visceral experience.  It might not have the build diversity that ESO has, but it has combo fields and synergies that makes ESO feel like a one-trick pony.  Also the siege weapons in GW2 make ESO's seem like pea shooters that all laughably have practically the same range, plus or minus what 20 feet? However, like you said, DCUO I feel has actually the best combat of all action MMOs.  Too bad the rest of the game doesn't fall in line for me though.

I love the combat and the stories in DCUO, to bad they failed in creating a persisten dynamic immersive world...

and when SOE sold the rights for EU to that strange company, things went further down...

ESO is better in every single aspect imo.

Really? How so?

despite the many  things they have the same, in essence the combat feel of these two games is very different...

GW2 feels much more flashy then ESO...  and yet it has a brilliant tactical layer

But where GW2 excels in my opinion is the tactical layer, the skills interact much more with other skills, and the buff/debuff system is genious..  ... and the actuall real time execution (mostly due to annimations) feels much more fluent

The strategy layer (planning fights and build) is top knotch with them both...

However, i love the resource system of ESO, instead of CD based system, and thats why in GW2 i do prefer the thief. Because the way it plays with a resource system and much less CD's, combined with all those other strong points of GW2s system that require much more attention to the battlefield and your own state as in ESO.

((Other games like TERA, where it often feels like i am locked in place, Neverwinter and TSW that are actually quite boring to me, because of the CD system, and then there is Wildstar, that totally overdid with the clearly vissible AoE targetting))

which one do you prefer?

1) more PvE stories/quests. ( on top of the dynamic content)

2) an AA system instead of extra levels.. Just to give the people a feeling of progression

3) more PvP modi and battlefields

4) more classes

5) more weapons for excisting classes

6) more spells and abbilities for excisting classes

7) more races

8) more content, new zones, new races, new dungeons, new jumping puzzles

9) multi group and solo options for dungeons

10) 2 extra skillslots, one weapon related and one skillrelated

thats my opinion... Whats yours, what would improve the game?

I forgot the most imprortant thing, no Trahearne...

As someone who was thinking about picking this game up, this thread makes me really not want to play it. The game sounds awful if it needs all of these things that badly.

Well. My first year with the game was awesome, but after two years players get different needs in a game, if someone starts playing the game, the first 3 months he will not notice anything from that list...

the game is still good. But lost most of its awesomness to me overtime, thats not because of the game but because of me and other players
