No levels is such a stupid thing...  kills the advancement that is typical for RPG games... turns it intoo a full action game.

 

No classes, is just awesome when done right, just picking skill trees instead of pre formed classes...  Its the freedom every RPG fan is looking forward to.

Not the fact that there is an add with half nude female on my screen, but the fact that i am actually surfing the internet for private stuff is more of an offense where i come from.  

 

 

Nevertheless the way they present woman in this game is rather tasteless and withouth class, ... if done right, erotica can be a sensuall or exciting thing, but this is just.... meh..

They should not revamp their classes and make them simpler,,,,  having a deep world with a deep class system is what gives the game its place in the world..

 

The only thing what will help to keep more starters attracted to the game is adding better annimations and character graphics, because while the world still is very beautifull, the annimations and armor really start showing its age.  

 

THere is so much in this game, like epic weapons, that make it a long term campaign, i hope they learned the SWG  and DAoC atantis lesson very well, never change a succesfull  game at its core, because you will chase away your loyal playerbase and only get bad mouth to mouth advertisement...

 

 

The only thing i have learned for game update 10, is that they plan to replace the STR base of the Wardens with AGI, but in the same newspost, it stated that all gambits still kept buffing the same stats..

I think the open beta patch is available, its over 2.5 GB, so it might be smart to patch op early before release.

Skydrive is quite popular and I am sure there must be a way to open its document in any application.

 

 

There are also skydrive apps which I use on my touchscreen phone which downloads the files directly on my mobile.

 

Most probably it is about your plugin (adobe acrobat plugin) which might require to be activated everytime you open it. Nevertheless, you can press download button and save the PDF file for viewing on your device.

I can open skydrive on my PS Vita!

Once or twice a year i return to the lands of Tolkien, just to play the most awesome class in MMORPG history, the Warden.  

 

So was i in for a surprise to find out that since my last visit the warden became even more interesting, they added ranged gambits and now the 3 stances influence how a lot of the Gambits work.

 

Just running a Javelin and running after it to my ennemie gives me so much kick, as the impact of the Javelin feels like a train hitting the ennemie...  And after that dancing around the ennemies while using my mellee weapon.  Just plain awesomeness..

 

I just love the feeling of this class...   

.....  And its what Lotro is good in, making every class feel totally different with interesting mechanics of their own.   

If you want naked girls, go play the Utherverse..  and make your naked dreams come true.

 

This is nothing even remotely close to that.

A lot. Its being updated a lot. Last 3 months, foundry has changed in everything and is a comletely new beast. one month after launch, a lot of revolutionary features are going to be implemented. So I won't worry about updates.

Tough with all the updates, i hope you can keep backward compatibillity with older created content, having to redesign your dungeons after every upgrade sounds like a core to me ( WoW mods anyone?)  I really hope you can delvier on this.

 

the sto mission maker foundry never had issues with this, and these guys work for the same company now that pwe owns both games, so i doubt theres too much issue with foundry missions losing compatability.  they tend to just add new foundry assets rather then removing any old ones.

wow mods need constant updating because they arent part of wows code, all foundry content is the game itself, you are just doing the job of the dev team by using the tools to make a dungeon yourself.

in that respect, people that make awesome content in a foundry, are really slaves!

I didnt even know STO had a foundry/mission maker, never played, never even had any interest in the game. 

 

But its good to know they pulled this off.

The game is free to play, so that probably means noboddy will be selling you free boxes...

Just because the game is free to play is no reason not to sell the dvd/boxed version. And the game is not 'really' free...that is why there is a cash store. To continue with the game and get the most from it you will need to pay for the DLC.

If by paid DLC you mean the Menzoberranzan Renegade class, it'll be avaialbe to everyone a couple of months after launch, so there is no need to pay for it. There is also absolutely no exclusive levels, dungeons, tools, or content in the form of paid DLC.

 

The game is only for free digital download, and people can choose to support the developpers and get a few ingame perks, much as a Kickstarter, only that the game is actually real and already developped.

 

There is no Pay-to-Win.

you mean you can buy the dark elf race seperately in a few months, and probably buy a spider and buy a panther, remember also that they stated the value of the pack at 700 bucks but 200 as a pack, so expect those individual items to add up to 700 bucks when bought seperately in a few months from the store.

 

the game is ftp, but nothing they sell will ever be available for free, at best youll grind a ton of astral diamonds, trade them for zen, and buy them with your blood soaked sweaty tears!

So what is the problem?

 

Isnt a gaming developer allowed to make money?   The i want all for free attitude does not work in our western Economy..  There is only one country where everything is free... Thats North Korea, sadly they dont have anything to give for free that people really want. 

 

Just pay for the things you want, if its not pay to win, the model chosen by game developers is okay with the majorrity.

But i think that would be a mistake, it would be a perfect way to generate money.

I have found a list of prices for the ingame store, they actually are quite nice, tough with the low cooldown on healpotions people could actually buy win in PvE (not in PvP, you cant use heal items in PvP)

 

I see the store bought mounts and companions are rather expensive, but they are far from a neccesarity to buy, as there are enough of them you can get through ingame actions.

Since this is the way they need to make money, i can only advise them to push a new character class a month and a new race every few months and sell them for 500 zen ...   If they can make it work like LoL, they might actually make a lot of work... and the way they build classes there are allready 25 (x3) =75 classes they can borrow from the official 4th edition rulebooks... 

 

On top of that this might be the game where you could actually sell speedleveling potions, as the lower levels will get rather repetitive the more you play them, and most good foundry content might actually be for the higher levels. So far it seemed to me that there was only 1 main quest and that might get rather repetitive the more times you have to walk that path.

 

 

So far it seems they hit the nail on the head with their store....

Sadly perfect world is known for its unrealistic pricing... tough with this game it seems that you can play and be competitive without ever playing a dime...

This would actually be the game model where people pay for the actuall content, and the more content they add, the more money they can make...

 

So give us a free to play game where people pay for new classes, new races, extra character slots, and unlocking new content....

 

Which would mean the game would be like a free trial with one character to level 20 and for all other zones after that, you´d have to pay an acess/unlock fee.  Now as i write this, i realise that this model is allready available in DDO...  How silly of me, but that model is just awesome.
