Posted this a few hours ago in the lineage eternal forums

this game is so different from all other mmos, it might be epic and fresh and fun...

Not reversible...

but if you take the dungeon tour, its a matter of a few days before your alt is 58 again, and then you can keep progressing from there again...

wait two weeks till the servers are settled

Buy hte game and the WoD expansion pack

activate your free level 90

quickly learn your skills in the tutorial

and join where everyone is, the level 90 to 100 content

You will really enjoy that...

I think this is the right time to start, or rejoin WoW ...

Now all Blizzard needs to do is find out how to make those first 90 levels attractive and accessible again..

to avoid getting disconnected from afk you zone into newbie dungeon and get hit by newbie mobs that way it hits you and stay afk otherwise your getting booted off server and end up 5 hour queue.

like go into ragefirechasm get hit by mob and you wont get booted back to queue.

Enjoy as long as it lasts, i reported this to blizzard as an exploit..  Wont take long before its repaired.

Posted today, enjoy

looks more like an action rpg, then like an MMO. Keeps me wondering how much MMO there is in this game.

Yet this is the game all of Korea is wayting for, the true successor of Lineage 1, which is the only game competing with WoW for title most successfull MMO ever...

play archeage for now... and wayt 2 or 3 weeks before enjoying WoD,,,

They'll jack the good concepts from ESO, WS, and AA put their spin on them with a little polish and people will love it.

Blizzard is the master of taking other peoples concepts and pulling them off Vetter than the original designers.

Which still is the best method in the galaxy when it comes to making games..

Somehow i hope they add some more of the freedom of choice from  ESO when it comes to Classbuilding specs..

Overhere. In europe most servers seem less stressed,,,

the game is great, the solo content makes you feel like a hero in a movie, yes its on rails but then so are rolercoasters. Its agreat thrillridd. The Garisson really adds to this feeling to

When in game it plays smooth as butter...  seems like the OP never really played at release...

However the  QUeues are getting out of hand, the DDOS attacks are also getting worse instead of improving things, and since the game is that good more and more people keep returning, making the problems even worse, in the end it will all be okay

I am glad i transfered my characters to a lower pop server before release..

Sadly the whole game is down right now in EU, with blizzards websites unreachable, so no clue why

I'm going to brush aside my outspoken hatred for Blizzard/the game for a minute ask a legitimate question out of curiosity.

I'm also completely disregarding the login issues and other instabilities/DDOS attacks...

Everyone seems to be relating the expansion to Burning Crusade 2.0 or even Vanilla overhaul, but no one really specifies why this is the case.  I'm curious as to WHY this conclusion is being drawn, because the original game/BC was actually decent until they completely destroyed the game with phasing and casual gameplay.

So what makes this expansion tick?

Lore is closer to the orriginal warcraft games, the mainquestlines have some great stories to tell, combat, immersion, no flying mounts, integration of garrisons in the gameplay, graphics (yes for a 10 year old game engine the new zones look great)...

Its WoW back on the orriginal track as long as the feeling lasts i am having a blast, it feels like i am playing WoW again the way i loved to play it which is good....

So I take it you've done such a thing, before?  If not, then I assume you've talked to an MMO development team who said as much?

15 years ago, there was an MMo called EQ, where choice really mattered...kill undead and get friendly with the elves, kill gnomes and get friendly with the trolls.... And only 8 skills and dozens to choose from.... aA system with real choices...

Sadly they threw this all away

Did your honeymoon period with WoD end?

Try staying on topic, and no i am still enjoying WoD very much for what it is when at home behind my PC, your comment adds nothing at all to the discussion.

You give people a blank canvas and you will end up with a blank canvas nine times out of ten.  People need direction, they seek direction, this is proven time and again.  Imagine if you are given 1000 talents as soon as you create your character... which ones will you choose?  Will you even try each one out or will you seek out the guidance of the internet to tell you what to do.  You tell yourself you want choice, but when given a choice, you don't go against the grain, you seek it out.  You create literally the same character as everyone else, do the same dungeons and raids, seek out the same gear.

Players can play games any way they want to.  Nothing is forcing you to actually equip gear, choose talents, et al.  You do so because that is what everyone else does.  Nothing is forcing you to use a mount or portals.  Nothing is forcing you to do quests.  You do all of these things because that is what the game tells you to do.  You have all the power to do things differently.  You chose not to.

Yes, it is all a matter of choice... choose to follow, choose not to follow... either way it is a choice.

Or just choose to follow A, B or C....  Thats a true choice.

and if you read the last centense you would hvae understood, i want them to implement choices intoo Themeparks games... If with every quest you get a chance to follow a b or c with different endings and different faction gains..... And many t quest require a certain faction to even  get access to them..

imagine an event, where you can choose to join side A or side B... You could either help the ogres to conquer the human town, or help the humans defend the town... People that join either side get flagged for PvP...  At the same time there is a gnome questgiver dealing out quests that tells you to steal someting from the sieged town. But accepting this quest makes you KOS to both sides( so sneak in carefully)

and i am not saying you need all those 1000 skills from the start.... Collecting is to much fun to get everything for free... And progressing is a neccesarity for 90% of the players...

it seems like not only the developers need to learn to think out of the box, but most players too

Sadly they threw this all away

Sadly the only thing in current MMOs one can choose is which one to play...

i want to choose if i go left or right..

i want to choose how to play my character and which skills to use

i want to choose what to build, and what it looks like

i want to choose what quests to do, and how to do them

i want to choose what my character and its armor looks likw

i want to choose where to go and when

i want to choose when to PvP and when not

and i want to feel the consequences of my decisions..

Every choice i make in game needs to have consequences

Every choice ingame needs to influence who loves me, and who hates me.

however since everything is a circle, one should have ingame options to keep influencing the world and make those that once loved you hate you, nothing should be set in stone for eternity.

it is so simple, and not that hard to implement, Then why has all of this been removed from MMOs in the past 15 years?

And while this seems like me asking for a typical sandbox game, thats not the case, i want  them to bring back meaningfull choices to themepark games...

Thats the difference between Wildstar and ESO...

Wildstar will go f2p and only have minor improvements...

ESO will stay p2p and keep improving till its in the top 3 MMo´s

When i am done with WoD i might return to ESO.....   Will i ever return to Wildstar?  i dont know yet.

Wonder how long before they balance garishness buffs, then rewards, then everyone has the same minmax setup, then it becomes a chore, then it's simplified because everyone had the same setup. RTS in a MMO, stupid idiots haven't a clue what their own vision is anymore.

Who cares,

You have to enjoy MMOs for the now and not for what they can become

I loved every minute of it so far.

It feels like its extremely well done

The leveling part is very casuall

Despite the old technollogy engine, they improved the story telling capacity again.

My discipline priest is a lot of fun leveling and in dungeons

Oh and did i tell you i am the commander of a garrisson commanding people around ...

I think i am going to enjoy the ride as long as it lasts..... I just love playing new stuff.

More comtent updates, free and payed is what the game needs, i guess they have a whole titan team to employ..

if they would also manage to make all the old 1-90 content viable again for max level chars, they can have my soul

I won't be touching the game for at least a few days. Overcrowded zones are horrendous.

actually they have their charm... i allways loved playing at release of games... its not a problem if you are not a pusher... push push push... faster faster faster, its not a competition.

It can be used to socialise....

I plan to be online from 23;00 till 01:00, just to enjoy the feeling, and i diont have a busy scheduling tomorrow, my day starts at 9

They basically ripped side buildings from wildstar (not a bad thing) the didn't implement housing because they couldnt technically (it's no coincidence garrisons come in after 10 years in the year wildstar is released. , the 'its boring' is ckassic bliz bs. housing has allways appealed to a portion of the player base, certainly as much as farming.

Player housing has always appealed to players for a limited time.  In games like Lotro, Rift and even already in Swtor these features (housing) get forgotten and players end up using them as storage lockers.  The devs use their data and see players really don't spend much time at their house so they stop focusing and putting resources into housing.  LOTRO is a great example they were talking about updating housing,  but based on data they felt the resources were better off spend elsewhere in game.

"It's boring" is not blizzard bs it's using actual data and comments from the devs from the games I've mentioned above and others.

the more i read the more i realise that Blizzard is actually making these garissons part of your daily gameplay.... crafting, quest hubs, PvP....

Sadly they forgot the customisation part, but then, it seems their engine does not really support this.  I think Blizzard probably made the best of it, because tahts actually what they are good at.
