How important is the overall look of your character in a MMO
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/07/13 7:00:05 PM
voted not important. i spend 99% of my game time looking at my backside so who cares if i have pointy eyebrows? i dont stop and look at other people and they dont stop to stare at me. i do like to have armor that matches though, hate looking like a rainbow warrior.

Recent games classes getting bland and less options/ game depth?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/10/13 5:03:39 PM
Originally posted by Magiknight exactly. one size fits all mentality. heaven forbid a class have a weakness. waah why cant my warrior heal itself, waah why cant my healer also do some damage, waah why cant my glass cannon wear heavy plate!! no choice anymore as far as classes. you might get some choice in how you spec such as a few more points of damage or a few more on defense but thats it. easy and lazy but hey if you can make millions doing the least amount of work, why wouldnt you? |

Christopher Tolkien speaks out after 40 years...
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 12/29/12 12:05:45 AM
i read all that crap of an article, have to get near the end to find out why all the bitterness. they own the works but really have no say in how they are presented and they dont make much money from the films and merchandise. they fear the actual works are being overshadowed by the liberal interpretations taken by the movies. something any author has to worry about when converting their work to another medium. JRR was shortsighted when he sold the rights to his works. they were hugely popular during his time, did he think that would lessen over the years? i think that if the family didnt have to sue to get some money from the films then they wouldnt be as negative today. in the end it all comes down to money, whats new?

so how long did this whole process take? from the time you first posted to when you said it was fixed was a little over 24 hours. not bad for something as screwed up as you want us to believe. i agree the process should be simplified, the CS should have more power to correct things but if this only took @ 24 hours to rectify it seems a bit silly to even post about. let's hope the thousands of other people with issues dont clog up these boards. |

i am sure he has stock, shares, contract or whatever that he will get paid any bonuses due to him. he isnt the lead programmer, artist or whoever else does the daily grunt work. how many guys or gals there have a vp title and are co something? co-manager? well i guess the other co-managers got a little more work dumped on their plates, big whoop. |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: The Way Back Machine - WAR's First Impression

scenarios killed it. they wanted an open world with RvR but people just went and played the instanced scenarios instead. no wonder the world was empty. |

no one is looking for an argument except you dude. this was a review thread and i stated why i did not like the game. you seem the one to have issues with it. if this game is a sandbox as so many claim then let me play it the way i enjoy it and that is by being able to take more than one quest at once. if i had a grocery list i would not go to the store multiple times to do the job, i would get everything i could while i was there the first time. this mechanic of 1 quest at a time is unrealistic. and please stop bringing age into the matter(checked your profile and im older than you). i enjoy a good slow game as i have many turn based games on my computer at the moment and they require much more thought than this mmo will ever require. i enjoyed eve as well and that is akin to watching paint dry if you travel a lot. so please dont equate this game to some uber brain game that only a thinking man can enjoy or appreciate. |

had 5 available quests from the maritime guild in lisbon. did 3 that werent difficult. 2 talking to people and one fighting. came back and the guy only had two available. so no progression there. went to intermediate school city and decided to check out what quests were available. dude had two go to lisbon quests and talk to people. no reason not to be able to do those at same time. if doing multiple quests at the same time leads to boredom later on then the game hasnt got much under the hood to begin with. if it's a sandbox like everyone suggests then whats the problem in knocking out a few quests in a single trip? |
Originally posted by GrayGreene You can have only one quest at a time. If you did some research you'd find this is not a themepark game. Those games are fun in their own right, but this is different. It's a bit more cerebral. One quest is all you can ever have, with emphasis being on the immerssive, not task oriented grind. That's fine you deleted the game, capt. howdy. But who cares? These are the uncharted waters online threads.
cerebral?? having multiple quests where you need to talk to some people in a city isnt that difficult, i think we can handle the multitasking. i lose no immersion by having 2-3 quests. instead it is very unrealisitic to have to go to lisbon run around talking to people and go wherever they send me then finally back to the questgiver to complete. then after that i can get another quest. oh you want me to visit the port of lisbon and talk to someone, well damn i was just there i could have done it then. this was a review thread so i gave my review of a game mechanic thats flawed in my opinion. |

tried this out since the options to do whatever you want were plentiful. i deleted it after i tried to get two quests at once and was denied. figured since i was going back to lisbon i would get several quests that involved that port. guy in maritime guild told me i had to many requests at the moment. whether you get the ability to take more quests on at a later level or there is an item you can purchase that allows such a thing i do not know and did not bother to find out. was easier to delete the game. |
