Well it is a good idea if you leave the game and don't intend on returning.  How would that be fair to someone who is playing the game and would like that name, and you have no intention on returning?  Really, this is adequate considering the level cap they put in place in regards to taken character names.  In my opinion...

Side note:

I'm glad that there have been improvements to the Freedom server in City of Villains.  The last couple of weeks have been very laggy in the public map area.  However, it seems to be a lot better now.

I agree that I would be more concerned with the in-game content rather than advertising. Although advertising is what keeps active players active as well. I'm just concerned that too much of this redundant video/audio/text/voice content websites are becoming a social norm. I'm 20 and I'm concerned that this never-ending evolving technology, such as MySpace, will get out of hand and people will become too dependent on these media services. This is kind of branching off to another topic. This topic is about PlayNC capitalizing off of people/users' Internet activity habits. I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way though.

Am I the only one who feels that this is unnecessary?  Don't get me wrong, I think it's a cool/innovative appraoch to attract current and new customers.  It just seems like it's more added crap or rather a waste of digital space.  Hey, if the people want it...  What's with all of the redundancy out on the Internet?  I'm a fan and current customer to both CoH & CoV by the way.

It's exactly the same price as if you were paying for either just the COH or COV account.  In other words, $14.99.  I upgraded my COH to COH vs. COV Edition and am still paying the same monthly price, plus an additional 30 days worth of game time for free.  That's with the upgrade.
