Because tanking is a thankless job with a billion little pricks blaming a fail on you. If you don't have all epic gear and have 30k+ HP, people go "BAD TANK!" It's much less a hassle to simply be a DPS, which is a lot less mental strain.

The term isn't offensive. Ten year olds who roll night elf hunters ARE tards. I think it's an apt name for them.

Good to see this. I've been in the same corp for ages, and all they're doing is steamrolling the north =P Sure, PvP is fun with em when I can do it. But I like in close fights rather than long range fleet battles. Pulse lasers and autocannons for me, thanks. I might have to look you guys up if I finally decide to leave my corp.

Anyway, an all DK guild? Shouldn't be hard to find. Tons of DK's out there. I have one to 72 myself. Fun, yeah, but not my thing, really.

 I hate to say it, but it made me feel like I was playing a Chaos knight. And it does it better than Warhammer Online. The voice changing thing sealed it for me. DK is gonna be my main =D

I love it when people cry about losing ships. Okay. So you go out to 0.0 and instantly get ganked. Right. You're an idiot. Seriously.

Eve is a TEAM game. You're meant to fly around in fleets if you're going pvp. Think of it this way. You're a soldier in hostile territory. You're walking down the road and looking at all the cool stuff. BAM, you get shot in the head, and scream GANKED! 

Bottom line is, if you're SMART, you won't get killed. If you're an idiot, then you're just fodder for the rest of us. Is it smart to jump into a 0.0 bottle neck system which is PROBABLY going to have a hostile bubble camp? No. You deserve to lose your stuff if you don't think. Period.

Um...Because Eve IS an mmorpg? It's massive multiplayer. It's online. You develop a character through getting equipment, armor (ships), skills, and you go out and kill things. Not only that, there are a lot of people in the game who ROLE PLAY. So, if Eve isn't an mmorpg, what is it? 

...How are you dying? I heal myself more than a priest usually heals. First, yeah, raiding gear is no bueno in PvP. Secondly, insta cast DOTs DO work. I don't know what you're doing wrong. Thirdly, did you not get Haunt? Haunt not ONLY does pretty good damage to stack on top of your DOTs, it HEALS for a pretty good chunk of your health. Combo that with Siphon Life and Drain Life, and you've got a constant stream of your enemy's life force keeping you alive. Not only that, SL everything you see! The more the better! Locks are still awesome. I'm loving Affliction now that DOTs can actually crit. I'm pumping out damage and healing anything the enemy throws at me. Usually only a warrior or rogue can get me, and now after the patch, rogues have an even smaller chance of being able to down me.

Don't know what you're doing wrong, buddy, but locks aren't broken.

My mains are destruction, (obviously), but I've been debating making an IB or SM to help order out. Any suggestions on a server?

Anyone can be useful. From a lowly frigate all the way up to a battle ready titan. The reason I like EVE is for this reason. Yes, frigs are underpowered on the offense side, but they make excellent tacklers or scout ships. Even if you just started in the game today, you'd be useful. The thing about skills in eve is, for the most part, it just allows you more options.

I tire of seeing threads like this. Everyone's opinion is different. Personally, I'm having fun in the game. Sure it has its fair share of bugs, but what game doesn't? The only thing I don't like is how I feel like the order classes are underpowered compared to the destruction classes (Yes, I know, I play destruction. Sue me =P)

Once Knight of the Blazing Sun comes out, I'll probably play one of those. I like tank classes, and sadly, Order is lacking. It's either be a midget, or a guy who looks like a girl. Destruction seems to have all its bases covered.

I never played DAoC, and am kicking myself. I've been hearing how good a game it is. I've played a lot of other mmo's, though. UO, AO, SWG before the update, WoW (of course), EQ2, Vanguard, EVE, list goes on and I'm sure you guys aren't looking for a full resume on me.

So, I say just take WAR for what it is: A game based around PvP that is just meant to be fun more than a level grind.

I've dabbled on both sides, and yes, I definitely see how destruction is more fun to play. I play a WP, DoK and Chosen at the moment. Tried WH, but it's too squishy for my liking. I like WP cause you get to stay in the battle longer, but their DPS is kinda lacking. DoK has DPS AND healing, which is why I usually just play on him.

Order classes definitely don't look as badass as destruction classes do. Dwarves..no. High elves...Big no. Only people who look decent on high elves is either the shadow warrior or swordmaster. I love playing human classes, but I'm usually a melee type who likes tons-o-armor. When Knight of the Blazing Sun comes out, you know I'll be playing that. Until then, destruction it is.

That's not encouraging, that's FORCING people to play order. Play Order if you wanna play Order, play Destruction if you wanna play Destruction. Don't MAKE people play Order. I think when the new classes come out, there will be more Order simply because there will finally be a human tank. I know that's the class I wanted to be when I heard about the game. Look at how many Chosen there are. Human knights are appealing. I know the IB is an awesome class and all, but me personally, I can't stand being a midget like that. I prefer to actually look a little intimidating =P
