I would actually be ok with metered internet, so long as it's priced fairly and competitively, and I can easily and readily track the usage for which I will get billed, and it's traffic-neutral.

I already pay for metered electricity, and "metered" trash service, and cell phone use. Most municipalities meter water use.

I would much prefer a straight meter than a data cap with steep overage consequences.

Problem is if internet was metered "fairly" ISPs would lose money across the board sense the average person doesn't even use enough to actually make up for the cost they pay now.

Net Neutrality isn't just about Netflixs, and by saying such you are blatantly spin doctoring this whole issue.

ISPs have been wanting to do away with Net Neutrality long before Netflix.  However they haven't had much success until now with the head of the FCC(regulator for Net Neutrality) Tom Wheeler (former lobbyist for the ISPs).

Yes in the beginning but as players level up it makes more and more sense to grab better higher zone level land.  This frees up the lower zone level land.

Land size plays another effect as players are able to lease land the own to other players.  Note when I played the alpha at around level 38 I owned mid sized land and shared it with a friend so we could both build and farm splitting the cost.  In some areas splitting cost is highly recommended.

Well it isn't an mmo but Nexus Jupiter incident is very much like Eve online in both gameplay and visuals.

mabinogi casual hahaha if you were to play it casually it take you 2 years before you could even be considered a beginner.

Note any game that bases skills/spells advancement on use and kills is not something you can casually play and expect to get things done.

  • More focus on Groups, less soloing.
  • Less phasing.
  • More ways to get xp.
  • Less "nerfing" of traditional MMO aspects to force you into questing.
  • More skills at a time.

Actually,.. i don't think it is possible to save ESO for the MMO market.

With the exception of "more skills at a time"(save that for future expansions) this pretty much nails it.

I actually think It being tied to TES is more damaging than good.  Sure the name has and will sell a lot of copies but it also confines it.  For one we all now that the whole premise of its pvp will be pointless when Talos shows up.  Now that could be years from now (real life years) but ultimately it confines the story with in a timeline.  Unlike other mmos StarTrek, WoW, and some what Swtor(3000 years or so before eps 1) who began their story in limitless future.  Not to mention all the expectations people who know the TES series have or are going to have regardless what people say("its an mmo not a single player game" kind of stuff).  So honestly while it might have helped it get box sales but the TES name might actually hold it back.

There a company nether good or bad.  They're not your friend, they just want your money, like any other company.  Keep in mind only select few have tested the current version of the game.  The beta version is 3 months old(which makes no sense stress testing it but whatever).  So we have no idea how the current version will due with a the launch load.  Then there is the frequency of updates, we have no data on that, no history even.

So calling Zenimax one of the best companies the has developed an mmo is silly.

i cant think of many developers that would change their game this close to launch, can you??, try hundreds that have been testing the current build of the game, not "a select few". google the .180 patch notes to ESO and you will see they have changed and fixed a ton of things in game..they have stated they will have meaningful updates added to the game every 4 weeks, they have already finished with 4 updates for after launch and they continue to work on more. If they arent one of the best companies now, they are headed in the right direction in my opinion. and by the way, they will have one more beta test with the current build of the game before early access on the 30th of this month. If you actually did some research and asked the right people you would find all the data you want on this game.

"They have stated..." We have seen nothing yet so no there is no data on the quality or frequency of their updates.  100s of players is a select few when it comes to testing an mmo.  Devcat, Carbine, Funcom, Bluehole, GGG, and many more have made changes this close to launch of a mmo.  Hell Devcat added entire new skill set 1 day before launch of there f2p mmo.  Zenimax, has yet to do anything that hasn't been done before as an mmo developer.

Why?  Seriously why would you Stress test this version when its no where near the one your going to have at release?  Seems very pointless sense your going to have to patch those bugs eventually with more than likely this weekends activity going on anyway.

So Why wait till release?

I've lost faith in WildStar especially since they've handed you just a 1000 keys to give away.  Really 1000 keys?  that's almost an insult to their fan base.

it still has the best combat out of the recent crop of Diablo'est games, nice and meaty, truth is D3 can only get better and its going in the right direction that's for sure.

Um that's pretty big opinion there.

Personally, I find D3's disconnect from its weapons to abilities to be well lazy programming.  Animation leave something to be desired and character builds are quite limited.

You have to specialize in those particular roles, the roles are not really the same.  For example medic dps is more built on debuffing defenses thus allowing more dps in a group setting,  while spellslinger is more of a straightforward approach when it comes to dps.
Probably after all I've seen Dragon priest and there not supposed to be moving around until Alduin's return.  With said I think anything is possible, damned be the lore!

Once again game developers seem to think that one leads into battle with their face....  Seriously when will this type of thinking die.

For all of ESO issue one thing I was surprised at was there attempt at immersion.  But in my opinion the biggest hurdle to their immersion is their own animations.

For example who in there right mind would swing an axe by full striating their arm at a 45degree angle, then swing horizontally with no elbow give for the impacted, only to then bring their arm THROUGH themselves to place it back its default position.

The animations are terrible worse than WoW and just as bad as TSW except not as limited.

I'm not saying they need to be as fluid as Tera or as robust as Vindictus.  But it should at least been on quality with f2p games like Raiderz and DragonNest.  After all people claim that only low quality games go f2p and if that's true then a p2p game should at least be on quality of the current f2p games out there.

Pretty sure it will suck, its made by the same nerds that made GW2.. that has a heap of balance problems as far as I am concerned.

ESO seems to own its title and live up to the name, I am sure the RVR will be great and from everything I have seem it is looking good.

Wildstar will have OP clases and FOTM rerollers, ESO will have viable builds for all classes due to the nature of the amount of different builds you can create by just adding skill points.

I could be 100% wrong here, but Wildstar reminds me too much of wow, at that means FOTM classes, cookie cutter builds and gear>skill.

There will be cookie cutter builds in ESO as well,  Its unavoidable.  As for gear>skill, no can make that call as no one has really experienced ESO's mid game or even its end game.

As for whether or not Wildstar will hold up to other rpgs hard to say.  Its "cartoony" aesthetics have a proven history of holding up over time vs. a more "realistic" approach, but as for whether its content can hold up as well has yet to be seen.

People complain a lot about Wildstar's aesthetics but honestly I have no problem with them especially when they go into such detail with their animations.  Wildstar looks like the most lively mmo I've seen with characters reacting to even hot and cold climates.  Now I just wish I could test the game out

Never rely on press to decide if you should play a game or not..

Lets be honest..Most Press players are awful at these games i don't take anything they say with a grain of salt.

You're better off deciding your own opinion on a game you're going to play then worrying about baddies giving previews.

Of course, never agree on a single review. However, when the single review starts to become one of many all coming to similar conclusions with footage to back up their opinions. It becomes quite easy to come up with your own conclusion without having to spend 60-80 dollars on top of $14.99 monthly fees to find out that the product has failed to match your expectations.

I keep seeing people mention the monthly fee, Honestly people whining about that fee should quit gaming...Because clearly you're far to poor to be gaming.

Monthly fee's are of zero importance in determining if I play a game, hell even the box price doesn't determine if i'll buy the game or not..

If I enjoy the game, i'll pay the monthly fee, if not..Oh well...I got to play Beta..I know it might be my cup of tea, therefor I'll buy and play it..If i don't enjoy it, Oh well...

Wait, how is not wanting to waste 14.99 considered being poor? You have poor logic. I pay a monthly fee on the game I'm playing right now. Because as you said, "I enjoy it". But if you don't enjoy the product and you have to pay a monthly fee you feel bad for having wasted the money.

You don't pay a monthly fee till 30 days after the original purchase, If you've not decided in 30 days if you enjoy a game or not, You don't deserve to bitch about a monthly fee. When you buy the game, You're paying for the box fee, That is it..The monthly fee comes after 30 days, and that decides if you're willing to pay, If you pay that monthly fee, and you dislike the game already, then you're an idiot.

Seriously, chill down before you pop a blood vain. I have a right to complain about fees on a product that have proven to not be needed in order to maintain a game's life.

You certainly do have the right to whine while being cheap...Hence why I won't stop you from doing it.

Being a smart and vocal consumer isn't cheap, and if someone is selling you something you should voice why you will or wont buy.

If the game still has their NDA up, this close to launch, it's because they have something to hide.  Sorry, but  the purpose of an NDA is *supposed* to be to prevent the competition from stealing your ideas and beating you out the gate.  It's NOT supposed to be a way to hide your unfinished product from the people who are considering investing in it (by purchasing it).

An NDA doesn't mean anything in terms of something to hide..

GW2 didn't have an NDA for a very long time, and it was still a stinker in some areas

Oh yes because GW2 faults totally have an effect on whether or not ESO has something to hide.
