I reflexively joined Kickstarter for the $25 pledge as soon as it launched...

 

... but no way I am even looking at this "game" until it's actually in a playable state and they let people try it.

It's a guild vrs guild pvp game. If a solo free player could compete with a guild of subscribers the developers have failed hard at designing the game.

It comes from the Bizzaro world where you haunt message boards and complain that you don't get ENOUGH free stuff in a game that you have never ever spent a cent on.  The rational person, having not spent any of their money on a game they don't like, would move on.  It's not like the company screwed him over or stole his money.  He's complaining that they didn't give him ENOUGH free stuff.

 

I haven't spent a cent on the game, but will sub at launch because it seems to be a fun game.  I started fresh this beta.  Played for maybe 10 hours and am level 21...  oh the grind...  /sarcasm

Such a complete waste of time. If you want to play this game properly, even in beta, buy a founder's pack. I have lost count on how many "quests" I did and still level 19. It is so bad, I am going to skip the betas because I am already burned. 99.9% of my guild members are founders and the exp gain (using LP for exp since there have no issue with LP regen) + boost is ridiculous. Within 2-3 days they have reached max level. Even others that were 9 levels before me surpassed me so easily it was so irritating to watch.

On top of that 99.9% will SKIP (not read content and spam F) story/side quests because that is what the game is and everybody will powerlevel to death. By the time you reach 50, it should take you 2 weeks-1 month as a hardcore with a founder. As a casual, send me a letter when you do.

LP regain? Do not even ask. You might as well go and hang yourself and do yourself a favor.

You want an LFG tool for server? "Go back to WoW scrub". There are still so many basic stuff missing; i.e linking items when the character screen is open (you must unequip and then link)

And with the current status quo, this is a straight out P2W farmville shitfest. To give you an idea; Most major guilds will have crafters that will have founder's packs + buying LP pots from cash shop on the daily basis.

The P2W_NOT advocates should at least do us a favor and offer an apology. Going back to the game now to level up due to guild orders.

 

 

 

ROFL...  subbing to a game is not P2W.  You have complained about this game continuously.  It's obviously not the game for you and you obviously have not spent a cent on the game so in the words of the immortal Adele Dazim " LET IT GO.... LET IT GO....."

26 states have VERY good consumer protection laws that supercede ANY company policy that is made in violation of the established consumer protection laws of state and federal government binding to any company physical or e-commerce and is agreed to by any company that direct or indirectly agrees to do commerce within said state or principality.

So please explain how that is relevant to the case at hand where a customer willingly admits that the company has delivered what was promised, paid for 3 months, got a discount, used it for 30 days, and wants a pro-rated refund simply because they want to take a break.  Show me the relevancy of your statement and a case that applies. (particularly since the OP lives in Cyprus)

Your analogy is rather lame.  How about this one.  I buy insurance that covers the coming year.  I cancel my insurance policy after 2 months and the insurance company sends me a check back for 10 unused months.  That's how that REALLY works.  They refunded my month for future time that I don't need insurance.  Once they refund me I'm not covered.

The gamer is asking for a refund on future time that he hasn't used, once he is refunded he cant play.

 

No.. it's YOUR analogy that is lame.  The gamer purchased time in a block, like an annual pass, and got a discount for that commitment, like the annual pass.  My analogy is spot on.

Well lets say that they created a program that tracks account activity. Correct me if I am wrong but old sub MMOrpgs had that because I used to remember receiving email(s) about if my account was inactive for a specific period of time it would get permanently deleted.

Let us say we never had that type of program. How much would it cost? 200?500? Say it would cost them 1000 thousand dollars just for the sake of an extreme example.

From let us say 100k subs, your research suggests that 1k subs will most likely request a freetime of one month after purchasing a 3 month sub.  Make a one month freeze up to 6month pre-paid subs. Increase the fees for a second freeze and scale it up. For a yearly sub limit it to 2 months freeze. 

Because it doesn't happen now does not mean it will not happen or should not happen in the future. There was a time where paying for a server transfer was not possible. Now it is possible with specific MMOrpgs and specific restrictions.

More 3/6/1year pre-subs would appear because you would have more flexibility with your play time.

Seriously.. give it up.  This is one of the silliest threads in recent memory and responses are something like 95% against your idea (on BOTH forums).  Once again, try your idea with Disney.  They know exactly when I enter a park.  They would laugh in your face, yet they are considered one of the most customer friendly companies on earth.  They also make BILLIONS of dollars in their parks with this exact same policy.

 

As they say in Disney World.. LET IT GO.... LET IT GO....

Again... try that at DisneyWorld.  Buy an annual pass.  Use it for 3 months and ask them to "freeze" it for you or ask them to refund your 9 months.  Let me know how that works out.  Disney is a pretty profitable company so I think they have a better grasp of building customer loyalty than you do.

Labor point pots in the cash shop could be construed as P2W to some, although it mostly seems to be a time saver rather than a method to "win".  Some may get ahead faster, but after a couple of months it seems that most people will be in a big melting pot of similar power. 

 

Yup.  Some people seem to think that a F2P experience has to be EXACTLY the same as people who sub to the game.  It's a mind-boggling mentality.

I played the game to lvl 22 - I was always wanting LP and needing LP. At lvl 20 a quest to make armor needed 600 LP - I had 10 - needed to be online 10 hours just to make the armor and that is kind of ridiculous. No I don't want to sub and no don't want to buy into an alpha/beta of a game (I think that is asking fro trouble - in case the game crashes before coming out). That is why I am calling this game a P2W game. To have such a difference in a basic element of the game is staggering - I hope no other game goes that way.

 

TERA, which has the exact same SUB/CS system, is not the same way. I can play to my heart's content and be competitive against sub players (they get pretty armor and different mounts, etc.). It is not the same with AA. I literally would have to throw money at the game, just like all the other players to be competitive and it is a PvP centric game at the end.

Giving players that sub to a game more LP is not P2W.  Somewhere along the way the term has been hijacked to mean that if you have to pay any money at all to play a game it's P2W.  That's rubbish.

 

P2W means that people who have unlimited amounts of money can get huge edges in game.  In AA that seems to be limited to purchasing LP pots once or twice a day.  Although I wish there were no pots, that's not game breaking to me.

 

Requiring you to simply SUB to a game to get the full experience is not P2W but basic common sense business.

Are you saying that the Early Enrollment folks don't have to pay a sub fee when they first enter the game? Or are you saying that the Early Enrollment will be pushed back to the end of the year?

 

The three months are the same as paying a sub.  You just paid up front instead of month to month.

But again who wants a players in a alpha build ? answer : none except those who are money hungry. A player can not contribute to a alpha release even a beta is pushing it. And what YOU fail to mention is that the "beta" that cost $100 is actually an early release where they plan to charge a sub.  So I really HOPE those $1000 Alpha boys are testing the shit out of it...
