I tried PoE too. And gameplay was freaking amazing, it reminds me more of diablo2 than d3 itself :P But yea, first time i hear about Grim dawn yet, so cant comment on that one.

mmos are getting ... dumbernized, if thats a word. And for people who played a non-retarded version of something, playing dumber, easier, shallower version of same thing doesnt feel that thrilling anymore. MMOS arent stagnating, they are just getting dumber, and a lot easier. Most things tend to grow better and better, mmos are actually going backwards.

 

Soon enough we'll end up with next wow killer, which is gonna be Super Mario 2 - 3D, with only 2 skills and same features as super nintendo game had. And they are gonna call it next-gen game. 

 

Dont think its us to blame. Most genres evolved, while mmos are going backwards. Now you have FPS's with rpg elements,  rts with rpg elements. And there are mmos that are actually getting rid of mmo elements, just to make their games easier and brainless friendly.

Posts like this really shows why people that doesn't understand how game machanics/designs work, should not make games.

Tedious =/= hard

Tedious for me  = doing same instance 800 times. For you that might be fun. See, not everyone is like you. :o) Yep, i just made a random accusation of your likes and dislikes. Crazy isnt it.

Btw, I never said games should be hard, or tedious. Somehow you managed to quote my post, ignore it, and give reply to something i never said, so kudos to you :P

All i said is i dont believe mmos should be playable with just 1 brain cell on,  and most new mmos can be played while watching tv at the same time.

Personally i think its a enhancement to what Diablo 2 was. i loved D2 played it for years. Its nice to see D3 was not a myth.

it comes from fact that i probly played more gams that u prob have in your life. Currently i own 12 systems and have played amost every genrea of games out there. I say almost cuz there prob is some i hvent played. But what really grinds my gears about this post is the fact that ppl judge a game from a 5% beta gameplay....everyone rates games to there own but this game to me has everythign a top down hacker needs...now it does have its flaws but not enough to justify a good clear review and instant no buy.

Now it all makes sense. You have 12 systems. You are totally allowed to judge the game by its 5%, while at the same time screaming at every and any person who doesnt like the game, because you know, they only played 5% of it. 

how dare they, to say they dont like the game, after playing just said 5%.

 yep, by far best f2p model so far, lets just hope theres big enough community to support it, or they may end up having to add some imbalanced items to raise some money (if not enough people buy their current cash shop stuff). 

I tried gf version, and imo, its actually great f2p model too, just with some nasty restrictions. But as you can spend in game money to get rid of those restrictions, its not that bad really. But compared to NA version, EU is still a lot less newbie friendly, so to speak (cant trade/use auction, etc).

 I dont really get all this hate. Surely, it plays like 2004 mmo, just slightly worse version and less polished, and has graphics like 2007 game, but still... it has a story! 

seriously now, it IS fun to play it once, just like you would any other non-mmo game, because it does have a story. And even then, it gives you much much more compared to usual 30-60hrs you get from other solo games. So with all that in mind, if you were going to buy some other game which would last you for 30ish hours, this one is actually quite nice investment, even if you abandon it after just a month.

Now if we compare it to other mmos, that would be another story, as it really does lack quite a few things here and there :/

My biggest grip with this game, from day one, was how they never, ever tried to make something at least slightly different, and they never tried to hide it. But if youre going to make a blatant copy of another (8 yrs old) game, at least do it right, so you dont end up with 200m worth, worse version of an 8 years older game.

holy cow, just noticed this part. finally a game with crafting as a part of the game, rather than it being there just for the sake of it :)

 yep, one month away and i could care less. I guess ill pick it up once they decide to patch in stuff they removed, unless it comes as a b2p expansion, which wouldnt surprise me one bit tbh.

 Vanguard? Tibia :D (does have snes liek graphics tho) but housing in that game is a matter of prestige, where you could place your items for everyone to see :P one of advantages of tibia/uo graphics, i suppose :)

also, someone metnioned Wonderland. It does have pretty... scary graphics for my tastes, but even i lasted a couple of months just playing with my house, i never even got past lvl 40 or so, as all i was doing is crafting stuff. Everything in that game is player made, from screws to ... UFO (yes you could make UFO, locomotive, and other stuff too, lol). Too bad its graphics are kinda... childish :/ I'd kill for a normal looking game with WL crafting system. 

edit: also, there are no crafting levels, as long as you got materials and manufacturing station (theres tons of those, which are player made too :p) youre free to make whatever you want. 

 could give a shot Path of exile, if you can get a hold of cb key. Its basically like a slightly upgraded diablo 2, with randomized dungeons. and lots, lots of different loot.

Unless you want 'real' dungeons, like old style games used to have (tibia,eq1,uo?, with different floors and not instanced?) in which case you could try Vanguard instead. Havent played it since release, but i believe that one has umm... real dungeons, with floors and everything, no? 

 for gods sake its just a game, get over it. Theres much wrong with this world we live in, but games dont fit into top 1.000 problems, i believe.

ps: chair warriors raging over games wont change much, mind you. We'll still live in corrupt, and by all its definition, broken world, even if you refuse play tera because of said characters.

 interesting review :P Imo, its just about what SWTOR review should look like with 2 major differences, cash shop and story/cutscenes so thats another 0,9 pts for tor :)
