Actuelly i think subs could be rising but Blizz has about 2 months before they peak out and from their it will be a down hill graph in subs. IMO and many people i know who play WoW TBC left something to be desired and alot of people are contemplating quiting or already have. Not to say the game isn't good, but every game must die, and no matter how good wow is now facing alot more competiters who are slowly adding things to their game WoW doesn't have.

Well the guy before me was right on most things but on a few things he was wrong and unfortinitly they where 2 of the most importent things.

First off, Crafting is better than any quest item, while a level 14 quest will give you better items than a low level crafter can a high level crafter can make things far supurior to any quest or drop, also they arn't bind making them resallable or so i have been told unlock quest items which are usually BOA.

And the next point is dungouns, i am not a WoW fan and personally their dungouns sucked in IMO, most of them where just run and run for XP and quests and seemed to have very little story behind them, meaning sure you could learn alot about the Scarlet Citidal but in the end people just ran and ran it for the XP and loot, in LOTR all of their dungouns seem to be done for the Story line, and alot of the Human begining Instances are very fun to run, and you know exactly why you are their, it seems to me that low level dounguns are for story lines not XP and loot.

My last piece of advice is Either create a Hobbit or a Human, i tryed the elf and dwarf starting area and hatted it, it just doesn't compare to bree and the Shire, also you gotta muscle through Archet because it sucks, but later on quests start getting interesting, though their are always kill X boars and X bear quests, it seems vital to the LOTR storyline to include bears and boars, though i dont even think either was mentioned in the later 3 LOTR books, bears where mentioned in the Hobbit with the guy who could become one. Boern i think.

So when you finally make it to Mount Doom expect Boars to be roaming its slopes

First off LOTF? Lord of the flies? Its LOTRo, ;) Secondly no Class in LOTRo can tame a beast though the Loremaster can summon Bears and Revans, i think even a eagle but i am not positive. the Hunter is not a pet class but is more like a Mage in WoW.

I think Lalia is one of the funner things in LOTRo, i mean its like she is the Devil every where she goes elites pop out and try to kill her, i mean i dont have that happen to me.

One of the more enjoyable times i have had was doing the escort Lalia quest, me and a friend tried to do it and got wiped first elite encounter, so we got a group of 5 people together and we go to talk to Lalia, now she starts moving and none of us relize that first theirs another person standing beside us who isn't in our group and second that none of us can see Lalia's health bar. So we escort Lalia through the entire thing and finally get to the end after a few tough battles only to see her run off without giving us the quest completed all confused we look around and see that theirs another guy just standing their waving at us :S. evidently this guy didn't even care to help us fight and just followed behind us and let us do all the work.

Who is the guy who saves the Priest just to get owned by the huge demon dude, ya i know i dont know alot about WH, but whoever that Ranger was he looked amazing and if he is ingame i am playing him.

What does it truly mean?  I understand the label of Next Gen in the console wars but what about the MMO world?

If you do come to a conclusion on what Next Gen means what are basing your information off of?
Your own personal opinion?
The dictionary?
Game developers?
Internet blogs and other people's opinions?

The word Generation stands for the act of creating something, either alive or inanimate. 
Usualy the word is used when you create something based on something else, human reproduction, or the term 2.0.
In this case we are talking about MMO's. 
Simply put Turbine created a game based on previous MMO's else, with improvemnts and emphasis on story, instancing, and grinding achievements-aka their trait system.  IMO this embodies the term next generation, Turbine created a next generation game not just for Tolkien fans but for those people who like an emphasis on story, crafting, and exploration rather than loot and PvP.  
For those people who like fast bloody action and really cool PvP AoC will be your next generation game because that developer is improving what has come before them.

Before posting this I took a quick glance at Turbine's LoTRO launches press release.  The words "Next Generation" never appear.  I don't think they marketed it as a next generation game because no one really knows what it means. 
IMO it is just a sales pitch to make people go OOOOO and AHHHHH!

The flamming in this thread makes me said, almost makes me not want to play WAR if people in this game are so quik to flame, all he asked was wiether their would be Player cities and siege like in AoC, and he gets called a AoC fanboi and a few other things, why would it be so hard to just answere his valiade non flamatory post, and i love how you call him a flamer yet you flame him.
