Ya SWG isn't to bad of a game, btw hey obraik how are things going over on chilistra? EH still going strong?. But as pre-cu is now long gone, and the game you are looking for seems to be the dream game, one that most gamers want but no developer seems to develop. So if you want a game that has all that stuff i am sorry to say their isn't one. |

I would say check out darkfall, you can learn any skill with any character, FFA PVP, but you lose faction if you attack your allies, guild wars, no classes, and a FPS.
It sounds to good to be true, but it looks like it might pull through. No gurantee if the game will ever come out though. |

I had a level 61 hunter in WoW, the amazing stratagy i used to get him their, i knew how to hit the 1-9 keys, until my fingers where numb or the mob was dead, and when the mob died, i moved to the next one. Rinse and repeat, 99% of WoWs quests told you to go out and hit the 1-9 keys untill X mobs where killed. Same exact thing with other games i have played such as, LOTRo, Vanguard, SWG, Lineage II, Guild Wars, Hellgate: london, Everquest II, Eve online (though this was one of the better ones), DAoC, COV/H and a few other MMOs i have played that i dont remember the names of. Every single on of them had a unique feature, i was called hitting the 1-9 keys untill a mob died, except Eve which added a little bit of verity (still was boring as anytihng though) Their was nothing more to wow then click click click, let me illustrate, To kill a mob, you clicked it, and then hit the 1-9 keys untill it died. To do a quest you Clicked on a guy and then went out and killed X mobs by doing the killing method i described above. To craft you first went out, and Clicked on stuff to mine/harvest it. then you clicked in the crafting window untill the amount of the item you needed was made. To PVP you Clicked on the other player, and then used the 1-9 keys untill he was dead To raid you went in a dungoun and killed mobs and did quests which i showed the process to above. So that pretty much sums up WoW game play, oh and grinding reputation, that is just more Clicking even worse cause its the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. and leveling to sixty required killing about 75,000 mobs even with quests, so that amounts to alot alot of Clicks. So please explain to me how WoW is not clicking.
Btw vanguard is the same exact thing if you want to use that as a example, though vanguard is my second favorite MMO i have ever played after TR.
PS. i bolded the words clicking to help you see them |

Wow ok you actually made me log in and post, usually i just read the forums and try to stay away from posting. Darkfall is a FPS, meaning you do all of the work, personally AoC's combat looks like crap, its a fake version of a FPS, but thats just my opinion. darkfall is a full FPS you have to hit every attack dodge every blow, their is no fake combat rolls, so really i think darkfall will be the one outdating AoC, but thats just my opinion please research a little more before you make posts like this though, its not very hard to find out its a FPS |

OK guys this is a poll and i would like to see what percentage of people like this idea, the idea is to make a MMO (2D ya stop your groaning and keep on reading please) that is based more on mind games and puzzles and less on hitting 1-2-3-4 untill you kill everything in the world.
I understand that a MMO is a place to escape the troubles of the world and just enjoy yourself, but while i love the idea of tons of players playing making friends and all and the base concept of tbe MMO, lets face it most modernday MMOs take almost 0 skill, any one can learn to hit 1-2-3 or 3-1-2 a bunch of times and watch something fall down dead and keep doing that untill you are max level then you go around and do that in dungouns. it takes almost no brain power and no thinking skills exept planning out which skills to put in your first 5 slots which are eisest to reach. i am not in any way insulting current MMO players some MMO games offer so much that the fact that it alll comes down to who hits 1-2-3-4 better doesn't really matter, but i believe that maybe MMOs should have a little more brainwork involved. Now i dont have 10 million dollers nor a team incredible and dedicated coders (no insult Takhaet but your one man not a team
Ok now we are talking about concept of base gameplay the way of gaining XP, instead of just killing monsters till you cant touch 1-2-3-4 any more why not have getting XP make you use your brain, instead of your fingers. so for example you are in a dungoun you enter a area and you are confonted with a chess board, you see a 2 rooks, 7 pawns 2 Bishops and a queen. your like Ya this doesn't sound to hard but it would be a beginner puzzle. i am sure you are also thinking that after 10 of these puzzles you will be like this
So does this sound interesting? If you think you would like to be a part of this and help out or just give ideas post here or grab me on MSN - DSTrooper501@hotmail.com or Xfire - Trooper501 |

sorry bout this guys, we will do our best to get the game back up and running ASAP, though keep the ideas coming even if their out there, we want this game to offer something new, and if the idea is good and in our coding abilities or some one on this site who wants to help outs coding ability then we will do it :). |

Ok guys i come today with 2 screen shots of a new dungoun i just finished.
img364.imageshack.us/my.php Picture 1 img364.imageshack.us/my.php Picture 2 OK now you may wander 2 things first off why is their not a bunch of mobs in the picture, its a dungoun after all. Second would be why does it look kind of like a maze.
Both are valid questions and i will answere them both. First let me explain the game a little and hopefully both questions will be answered through my explination. Its a 2D MMO, thats a huge turnoff for alot of people. me included. if the 2D MMO doesn't have something to really offer no one wants to play it. we understand that. the same is even true for alot of 3D MMOs . alot of people are sick of the same old level 1 i spam 1-2-3 and kill the monster, level 50 i spam 1-2-3-4-5-6 and kill the monster and that is ALL i do to level sure i do a few quests which just tell me to go hit 1-2-3-4 and kill a few monsters then come back and get some XP for knowing how to hit 1-2-3-4 and thats all sure you have high level dungouns which have great scenery and cool monsters to spam 1-2-3-4 but in the end its still the same. all you have to do is spam 1-2-3-4. So we decided that, that is not cool. so we added something we dont think many MMOs have done. Up to level 20 you live a semi normal life doing semi normal things, with just a rumor of the abnormal, eventually you will find a certian guy who will have you do a certian thing and you life will change. you will enter a realm that will puzzle you (pun intented). and you will find that to get XP you will have to rely more upon your mind then your ability to hit the number keys
if any of you guys have riddles or puzzle ideas or just game ideas post them here we want to here them. by riddle and puzzles i mean things that can be solved on a board sort of like a board game the two pictures are exemples of puzzles. We are working on a full screen version so untill that time please excuse the size of the images |

Ya guys i am helping him create this game it should turn out pretty good for a 2D MMO, we already have over 70 items ingame, over 14 different monsters and over 10 zones (not much yet) we are aiming for probably 100 zones, 150 items and over 100 different types of monsters. and huge bosses, with a level cap of 40 that will raise as new content gets added. |

edit: before i start i apoligize for the long post its just these ideas seem to be the game i have always wanted, and sorry for the grammer mistakes and spelling feel free to yell at me for both the long post and the spelling
Wow i am wishing i could make a game about now, after reading this thread no game will be good any more heres alot of my ideas i think a cool idea would be to make the game a FPS, it would fit in perfect with the hunting and stuff. i wouldn't want easy town traval, i believe that it should take a while to get from town X to town Y, not just a 5 minute walk. and if you want to survive the trip you have to get a group, if you want to stick on the road all you would need it one other person because you would only get the wandering animal or bandits. but if you want to take the short cut through the wilderness you better get a big group with good weapons.
i think the ability to only bring so many stuff would be amazing. it could be annoying but you could always head to a town and bank some stuff but only that town would hold those items, so you couldn't go to a bank 10 towns away and grab them. unless you ordered them and say every hour a caravan would leave the bank in town one and traval through all the towns dropping off any items that had been ordered. the trick would be that if a bunch of other players decided to ambush the caravan they would get all of the stuff in it. though guards would guard it very carefully. also NPC bandits and NPC animals would attack it if they came across it. those if you left your good sword back 10 towns away which is like a 2 hour trip and you are currently hunting around town Y you can order the item to town Y and in around 3 hours you get the item, if that is it isn't stolen.
i think also a monster spawning idea would be each monster has a home. meaning their is wolf dens all around their is ogre villages their are bear caves. you get the idea. now if you kill a wolf he belongs to one of the wolf dens in the area. when he respawns he respawns in the wolf cave and slowly wanders out into the wilderness. that is as long as the mother wolf is still alive in the wolf cage. if the cave has been cleared the wolf then spawns at the next closest wolf cave. and so does the mother wolf who eventually finds her own wolf cave and founds a family their. This could also work for the Humanoids, if you clear a ogre village the ogres spawn at the next village and eventually one of them wanders upon the abondoned village runs back to his village gets a bunch of people and they found a new town. though if you kill him before he makes it back the town stays empty.
if this could work it would be a perfect spawning idea. and really make hunting fun you could eridacate all the wolves in the area and their caves, but guess what the wolves aint coming back to that area for a while. i also believe levels are crap and they take away from the fun of the game some. i dont like oh your level 19 we only take level 21s and above in this group. i would prefere that towns each have like trainers that train you, and any one can use them if they have the money of course not every town trains something different. and for good abilities you would have to find hidden refuge's or hermits in the wilderness who would know more from living in the harder areas then the normal townsfolk. on the same note i dont believe classes should be ingame, why am i restricted to only being good at a bow. at the start of the game i should be kind of puny and theirfor only seek out stuff such as deer if i can catch them. as i use my knife which i first start out with i learn to use it better, when i enter my first town i can buy a bow and find a trainer who shows me the basics of archery as i use my bow i not only get better at it in real life (as in like i learn how to track stuff) the game makes me better at it such as i start pulling my bow back farther and get more range and more power to the point i learn how to ride on horseback and shoot arrows, though i would first need to find a guy to show me the very basics of horseriding and mounted archery. same would work for stealth as i stealthed more i would get better at it i would slowly turn more invisible, or as i learned how to track deer for food, deer prints would be more visible in the mud. same goes for anything as i become better with a sword i would learn new combos. thus it would be possible for me to learn everything but this would take forever for 2 reasons, first if i just ran around and learned skills but didn't use them in combat they would not become second nature meaning i would forget the basic stuff. so to learn the higher end stuff and to be able to use it effectivly would require me to have used the lower end stuff alot, and second since ingame traval would be slow and the places that tought advanced things would be hard to get to it would also require more time. this would also be a reason why hunting groups would be formed, not only to have fun but to get better at what you do. though XP does drive people it just adds more seperation in groups.
on the same note i think magic should be ingame, but so extremely rare to find, for exemple it was banned from the empire so magic is only really used outside the of the empire, but the mages outside of the empire are to busy flaming each other to go into the complicated learning of magic with you, so you have the find the extremely rare and hidden Mages hiding inside the empire, and convince them to train you, but since they are normally on the run and always undercover its hard to find them and no guide would be able to tell you their location, you would have to follow rumors you would find by talking to poeple in tavarns, and even then for all you know the mage could be undercover as a ogre, and when you raid the ogre town to find him he either might flame you to death with fireballs, talk to you because he is impressed that you where able to kill the ogres, oh or you kill him because he doesn't reveal himself and you think he is a ogre. and that would just be the beggining since the empire would have people who could sense the use of magic, whenever you used it when you where training you would have to switch spots fast before the soldiers got their. but once you where trained in magic you would be amazing, though a arrow could put a untimely demise to your plans or a knife in your back. and once you diec you would only be left with the barest use of magic such as basic fireballs, and to get back what you had learned you would have to go through the whole process again. and for maps i believe that towns should sell maps so i start out and i have to buy a map of the area from the town, now some of these maps might not be right, so i might buy a map and believe it yet they could have not added something to the map or it could be drawn wrong. players could also maybe draw maps and sell them. |

I find it funny that people believe that since its M some kids will be kept out, usually its the less mature kids who are able to get it even though its M. and on that not come on Halo has some of the MOST immature people i have ever seen any where and its rated mature, IMO though i may be wrong the M label really has no effect on the maturity of the players ingame. some Teen games have a mature player base, but so do some Mature games, and both have games with horribly immature playerbases. |

Sure their wont be PVP at launch but just wait till they add Egypt this will be the king of PVP games, just imagine 40 people with 4 minions each thats 160 people, waiting on another 40 people wiht 4 minions each. thats a ton of possibilities for PVP combat. instead of needed 2k people for a 1k on 1k huge Nation verse nation battle you just need 500. i am hoping its PVP will some what resemble EVE with huge combat and hopefully wars for the conquest of areas. |

I agree theirs tons of info at that Wiki site, if its succusfull it will be amazing (excuse the spelling mistakes).
From what i have seen this seems like it will be a FPS MMO, kind of like a Jedi Knight in a Japan skin, the way they are talking about learning combos and stuff.
If the game comes out i think i will try to be a ninja, who uses ranged weapons, like bows. |

Ya but as i said, preording gives them money which either they are using for the game, or it gives the incentive to actually make the project work. So by waiting to preorder it you could just be helping it flop |

The MMORPG boards for this game seem to be well monitered since posts are made just a few minutes after, but their are no posts about the game, is every one to afraid the game might flop to post?.
I am considering preording this game, because it looks pretty good, and they need the money i am sure.
you cant just expect every one else to preorder it and make it happen
So what is every one elses thoughts about this game? |
