snails response to this is treating you like an idiot and hoping you will quielty go away...there is no solution nor even an attempt to address this problem..hell they didnt even bother to translate the tool that was suppose to "help" you check for corrupt files. My guild was initially suppose to pick this up, but unfortunatly not every member was able to get the game installed properly. After a quick search in their forums it was pretty obviouse there was no solution as of yet, it took some people 10 days of constant trial and error to finally complete the download..nevermind the time and bandwidth wasted, the 3 people whom picked up the deluxe edition wasted their money. My entire guild has passed on this game...i suggest you do as well should you encounter this problem.

Thanks a bunch for the info Requiamer and Aesperus, i had watched some of the videos and during the battle scenes and it did look like a mess as you said..but i also did not see what was happening meanwhile with before the battle or alot of what was happening during wtih the supplies and stuff in the background. Sounds like i'll probably have to grab a copy and try it myself. Asheram, there is actually a mod/mode where its quite similiar to what you might be interested in Warband called Strategus. (Crpg) Essentially you can do what you normally do in singleplayer and take over/fight for areas on the world map. You will have troops and declare war and control points/towns on the map, It then will show the name of current guild of the area. There is also an rpg element in it where you can level up your character and buy new armor and weapons to equip yourself and your guildmates. Its pretty intense, heres a vid to give you a better idea if you're interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLL83yiZB4A thanks a bunch for the replies, have a good one. -temp

You might get better performance if you overclock your cpu a bit. Seems a little bit low in relation to your gpu and might be bottlenecking. Also make sure all your drivers are up to date, monitor, gpu, audio, chipset even etc. You could also tweak it a bit since it uses the unreal engine, some of the settings you're able to disable with little to no visual difference in the .ini. Try disabling shadows as its very cpu heavy. You should be getting better fps than that, im running a i5 760 @ 3.8ghz with a 560ti gtx and i get around 80-110 after tweaking. Theres also a feature in the game that actually caps your max fps at 80, try playing around with that. Goodluck -temp |

Originally posted by TheDor ...? Like i said, i've read a bit and seen some videos of the GW2 beta...but looking at videos and reading about is different from actually playing the game. I have read some of the threads and my concern was does the the combat turn into zerg style. I've seen multiple threads showing concern/complaining about this, but instead of answers or opinions...its more hate that he/she is offering his opinion or asking about it. Same goes for people complaining about no incentive for WvsW, but if im wrong like you said...what is "Tons of incentive"? Incentive is something like either your server gets to keep that castle for a bit or buffs or i dont know increased taxes, a ranking system?? <--these are just examples to try and get a point across. If i wanted other people to think for me, i would have just went out and bought it based on all the GW2 is the next big thing threads. You're right i should have been more specific in my op thread instead...anyways...wasnt concerned about 1vs1 and class balance that much, i was asking about actual large scale pvp fights with multiple groups or simply defending/assaulting as a group. Is it usually coordinated?..or only once in a blue moon and people normally do their own thing. If i do play, it wont be because of 1vs1 in WvsW. Glad theres a commander chat when you join squads..sounds awesome. The highest player limit i've seen for Warband is like 250, not really concerned about the money. I'd like to know if its worth the timesink. Thanks for all the replies so far, if you're going go spend the time to write a response...please elaborate explain, otherwise thanks anyways for reading. -temp |

umm...not really looking to compare the 2 really. I'm just trying to decide weither to actually get it. I realize ones considered an mmo and the other more of an fps, but for me its just about the pvp and if its fun..regardless if its tab targeting with dodge or fps aiming. I've been reading some of threads here and like Warband, apparently skill plays a large factor...thats why i was looking to get some more info. I highly doubt you will be dealing with 250+ players on screen at any given time and since theres no real incentive with WvsW...your immidiate concern is the area you're currently fighting in, you would then move back and forth from each area/keep following the frontlines. So it seems like its pvp for the sake of pvp. Which is perfectly fine ..since thats what im looking for. I guess the thing im really inquiring about is the pvp combat....actual in game battles and the feel of it, does it usually just end up being zerg fest with people bunching up and spamming skills? Unfortunatly this is usually what happens if theres alot of people fighting in one area i find when using tab targeting. One of you mentioned an RTS aspect...where does that come in?. If you mean that people will coordinate in chat during battles...i think thats just wishful thinking no?. Unless im missing an important feature i havent read about. IE: commanders or voice chat features. As for Warband not having siege features/constructs...they do. thanks for all the replies so far, but could you guys please elaborate a little more?..I really enjoy pvp castle sieges :] thanks again. -temp |

Hey guys, for those people playing this game for the WvsW element...have you tried the Mount and Blade:Warband game?. For those who have, could i please get your opinion only on WvsW in GW2 and the Mount and Blade series? Seems like WvsW in GW2 is essentially what Warband is..except Warband does it better. Please, only respond if you've actually played both and are familiar with the features and gameplay of both games. Thanks in advance -Temp |

Did you even bother to call them before racing here to post about it ?...so far you're the only one whos complained about this. Assuming it wasnt something your son did to warrent the cancelation, im sure this could be fixed with a quick call..no need to bash en masse as a whole because you're upset. If you feel so strongly about it, post back with the results. edit* sorry was not aware of the above article and current account issues, good luck on getting your account fixed up. |

A Mature Player would never Pay or Play this game...
General Discussion « League of Legends - Clash of Fates 2/17/12 5:29:30 AM
This reply is directed towards the OP, i rarely post but felt the need to comment on this thread for some reason. Try not to take this the wrong way...i believe you when you say you did not go afk or leave..you seem to be pretty firm on that point...perhaps...you were banned because people were harping on you for not playing well? You certainly dont have to be amazing at this game..but you do have to be generally competent at it. If you arent that great ..thats fine..but if you get feedback from your teamates or advice...try to take it and learn from it, instead of being defensive right away/ignoring them. There is an option to report for unskilled player so...maybe thats what happened..otherwise i dont see how you would have been banned for afk if you insist that you havent. At the bare minimum they would check the logs for afk'ing...so if you did get the leave penalty ban...that speaks for itself. If you were really "mature"...then do the mature thing and just move on...dont spend a dime on this game, advise friends not to play this game..raging on a public forum...is not the way to go.

Why does Tasos / Aventurine always invite unknown people?
General Discussion « Darkfall 7/08/08 9:14:06 PM
dunno about you guys ....but it seems painfully obviouse that they choose "nobodies" simply because....there is...NOBODY lol...they probably made up some character and said blah blah, i hate the game vapor etc....and have him coming back with nothing but praise. |

Any mmo you would have been happy to play as a single player game?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/08/08 12:58:05 PM
well..this might be weird...but i wouldnt mind WoW being a singleplayer game somehow...cause the game itself was pretty decent...but it was the community that ruined it for me. I pretty much soloed to 55 ish by myself...(which was ...cant say fun..but worth the monthly fee) i realized i couldnt get the good items unless i partied up and tried raiding...and that where it pretty much messed up for me (met/dealt with some pretty weird/frustrating people..)...sure there are nice people...but not enough. |

Long before the history of China had even begun to be recorded, there existed three major factions. The Lawful, Chaotic, and Evil factions, as they came to be known, fought each other fiercely for possession of the continent. The fighting would not subside until only a single faction remained. This 'Thousand Year War of the Continent' was a war among wars. Not a soul could have predicted the outcome. One day the tide turned at a place called Five Mountain Range, and in the outer reaches of Karma the 'Thousand Year War of the Continent' had been put to an end. The Lawful Faction, once a great power on the continent, had begun to buckle under the might of Chaotic Faction's occult artifact, the 'Ark of Heaven'. The Chaotic Faction, who had secretly applauded the fall of Jung, united in arms with the Lawful Faction against the Evil Faction's powerful weapon. The union finds itself in an uncertain position. The two factions, having once pointed their weapons at one another, were now being asked to lay down their arms. The overlords of the Lawful and Chaotic factions carefully selected 8 promising, next-generation martial artists to be sent on a mission to seal the 'Ark of Heaven' at the Sun Temple (one of 4 primary bases of Evil Faction). A Follower of Tao, one of the martial artists leading this party of 8 to the Five Mountain Range was granted the title 'Tutor of Five Elements'. With his help, the 8 martial artists were able to successfully make it all the way to the gate of the Sun Temple. After getting rid of the combat masters of Evil Faction, the 8 martial artists were in the process of sealing the Sun Temple when the 'Ark of Heaven' sucked them inside. Inside Karma, the boy discovers that Bak Rang, one of the most promising leaders of the Evil Faction, had stumbled upon the existence of 108 mystical artifacts, or 'Karmas' sometime in the midst of the 'Thousand Year War of the Continent'. These 'Karmas' possessed powers that supernaturally governed the Continent. If any single person were to possess all 108 Karmas, they would have the power to rule - and even destroy - the entire Continent. ![]()

![]() There are 4 different classes that you can choose to be. Pretty obvious on what they do. Please read about the weapons, located below this, so you can see what class can wield what weapons. ![]() Each class gets 3 unique weapons. Every weapon has some advantages and disadvantages. For example, the Warrior may pick the Simitar, Lance, or Axe. Simitars have very strong solo attacks, which attack one enemy at once. Axes have very good AoE attacks (attacks that attack all enemies surrounding you), while Lances have a mix of both. While you are able to pick which weapon you wield and can change at anytime, it is wise to stick with one, for your skills will only work with one weapon and you have limited skill points. However, for a price, you can purchase a skill reset potion and start over, but it costs a lot of money buying the potion and the books to learn the skills again. So most players will only switch weapons a few times, and only if they have lots of money to waste. |
