As for the graphic lag issues, this will never be sorted out.  AoC uses large textures that take forever to cache, so there will always be hitching and long load times.  It is a fundamental core coding issue, and won't be corrected unless they completely change the way their client works which obviously they won't becuase it would take hundreds of man power hours to fix.  Vanguard had the largest MMO client size ever until this monster.  There are striking similiarities between both epic fails and I was a huge Vanguard fan, preordered, and then realized I made a huge mistake when all the issues just never got fixed.

I played this beta and it brought a tear to my eye.  Past horrors revisited.

(PS: Load times are around 10 seconds for the logos, 5 seconds after to Character Select, 10-15 to game, 1 sec to go into the Inn...)

 

Your load times are exagerated, or you are on a supreme system.  I have 2gig ram a 7200rpm SATA hd and the load times are ridicously longer than that.  That should be more than enough to handle any load times

Actually his numbers aren't that far off.  Its the people that throw out load times in the minutes that are exaggerating.

I run Vista 64 myself and have no issues with any of my games.  Vista has been out long enough now that any driver issues have either been resolved or have some workaround.  The extra ram would be a blessing if you plan on running AoC and Vista.

I would still like to see some kind of age verification software.  Its far to easy for kids to get a hold of their parent's credit cards but perhaps if they had to use a social security number or something along those lines we would lose a lot of the immaturity.   Although on the other side there are plenty of immature "adults" out there as well.

This is a crazy good idea!  The only this with an idea like this is the MMO companies to date don't like to stray from the norm.  They may actually find people would love to try something along this line.  Ahh well we can only hope for something to break the barriers of the normal MMOs.

From what I have read of the house packup the players actually demolish the abandoned houses.  There should be a menu of sorts that you can "demolish" the house.
