From what I have been reading, WAR is more based on RvR. You are not an adventurer out to make a buck or whose goal is to enrich himself. In this game, your race is on the brink of doom. You are clashing with the other races ( well Order vs. Destruction) for supremacy. It is not to seek out some mobs cave and camp it for the purple drop. While I believe there will be PvE threats and rare mobs to go after, the theme will be that these PvE threats hamper your race in its ability to defend itself (or obstruct your expansion campaign). Your glory to play this game is to challenge yourself against others as a member of your race of your choosing. The end game is when you ransack your enemies city or your city falls. Then it resets after a time (though I hope the city reset thing can be role played or the game triggers a set of programs which give the fallen race a chance to reclaim their city..) |

I am leaning towards the OP here. When I first saw AOC, it had a lot more neat classes - they had a druid and a stormcaller, as well as the mitra, set, bear shammie priests. They had a Zealot, Halbredier in addition to the warriors. They had waylander, and black lotus assasin or something for rogues. Mage archetype I think was left unotuched. While I understand the announcement to merge some of these classes because it was hard to justify a true role for them in the game, I just thought to myself is this a means to get back on production schedule? Did they promise too much? Honestly, I was excited to try something different - just what skill sets could I have access to as a Halbredier? Would i master polearm weapons? Would a zealot be a fanatical berserker type with some party buffs ? Anyways, at least it is not Fighter, Priest, Mage, Rogue. I can understand it is a lots of work to flesh out professions and keep to the Conan Lore. However, as JFK once said We go to the Moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard. |

Does it matter what gender the person behind the toon is?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/23/07 12:47:51 PM
Woman avatars seem to bring some rp element to me. Playing a male avatar just too easy from a Rp perspective. When I try to roleplay, i usually try to play a female and come up with some interesting traits. I often find when I am playing a male toon, I don't role play as much. |

The Secret World - Funcom new mmorpg!!!!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/12/07 9:07:34 AM
Neat stuff FunCom. If they truly go to the Lovecraft theme, this game will do wonders. Heck, i would even be happy if it had contemporary elements of horror like the Buffy the Vampire TV Series, mix it up with the Dresden Files, spatter some conspiracy elements like the X files and wrap it with the Da Vinci Code type of mystery . Sorry rambling a lot. And Don't forget to include hot chicks from "Charmed"... |

Yeah I must say it does make sense. People who own accounts must take responsibility for them. If you are selling a "product" to them, and they abuse it, why should you "fix" your product. From a theoretical perspective, you could make this into a profitable endeavor. For example, change nothing in your game. however, for those who want the ultimate protection to prevent their account from being hacked, buy your account key scambler program (maybe something like MightyKey). Now for players that truly do not want to share their account have the proof because they paid a premium for it. The other standard account are still secure, but allows for you to share the account with your friends.

Whether it be escape from an ancient tribal cult or a near death experience of a long sea journey gone awry, the clan of Hathia were shipwreaked and almost lost to the the dreaded coasts of <enter island chain name here located at the southwest corner of the map>. Though a tropical paradise, survival is no less challangeing like any other area of the region. In appearance they are more apelike than man, though they are more cunning. They have a knack for fishing and harvesting tropical fruits the lands grow. Knowing that resources on their island are limited at (36n 27w), they seek to dominate the remaining cluster of Isles. Compared to most civilized cultures, this primitive society doesn't even warrant a footnote in historical archives. However, these creatures are ambitious and seem to have insatiable needs. |

Just wandered by your interesting thread.. Not sure how to begin, but I would like to see what happens. I was interested in perhaps starting in one of your islands. Perhaps either as a slave colony of perhaps Darkholme (where perhaps they experiment on their riff raff) or start a new colony as a pirate. I would focus on gathering resources for survival such as fish, wood for setting up camp and see if a life can be made from exploiting the sea (pearls, fish trade, raiding worthy sea vessels). |
