Although your approach is rather amusing, I usually just ignore them. My life is too important to waste time on people like that.

Zorn you and I both know WoW is a big copy cat MMO. Blizzard takes any good feature in rival mmos and makes it their own.

Stop trying to act like blizzard has even one original feature in WoW.

I can't wait for TOR to release so blizzard could take a few features from that mmo also.

No, to my knowledge EQ2 didn't have a complete XP stop and certainly not on a  level up through PvP alternative...

Any links to check it perhaps ?

-----

You couldn't wait for AOC or WAR also. Well they've come and gone and what did we ALL  see ?

New features introduced that let the number one game even have more options.

I can imagine this is again a new nightmare for a Wow hater :))) and well known Wow troll in this Wow forum.  :)))

Read the content patch notes of 3.2: I guess a lot of sleepless nights lay ahead once more :)

Sorry but you are wrong. EQ2 'has' a complete XP stop feature. It may not have always had it, but I can verify that it has it now. You are correct about PVP, in fact EQ2 is not known for PVP at all.

I am not really sure how that bit of information is relevant to this thread.

Gameguard will be in the release, and for all of those who have chosen this as their excuse for not playing:  Who cares?

You for one obviously cared enough to make your asinine post.

Not important? i actually would love to know if the final AION release will have GameGuard or not, Since gameguard Manages to generate blue screens in my computer i must be prepared -.- .

This thread is vitally important, because if Gameguard is in Release I will not be buying this game no matter how wonderful the game seems to be. Do the research yourself - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameGuard - GameGuard is considered by most people to be:

a) a rootkit (and as such potentially harmful to the security of your OS)

b) plagued with bugs

c) destructive to legitimate software (see list on previously link)

So, if and when anyone can confirm that Game Guard is going to be in the final release... please let us know.

Thanks.

Why not Harry Potter? Dumbed down literature ftw. After all, a certain dumbed down mmorpg is currently #1 in popularity.

I was sick of quest based leveling after a couple of weeks of WoW. Please no more!

I love SOE dont care about what they did to SWG as i never played it. The legendary EQ and EQ2 are imo the best MMO's to date. WOW ane everyother quest based MMO are EQ clones.  Flame away boys i wont be around anyway i will be playing EQ2.

Game is almost out, are you supposing that something drastic will change once it will be gold?

um yes it will.  Beta and live are 2 different client versions. That means many patches in between.

That sorry excuse hasn't saved the last ~5 major games from flopping.

Have to agree, this excuse has been used to death going back to the legendarily (probably not a real word) disastrous Anarchy Online launch. Not that I wish these people bad or anything, but people are doing this funny thing people do and putting this game up on a pedestal. It's not the Holy grail of games come to deliver us from WoW. Maybe it'll be nice, but it's not looking to be anything remotely revolutionary.

Bring out the Holy Hand Grenade!

You probably don't know that the game is more than 6months old in Korea and it's still gaining subs. It's beat WoW over there.

I doubt you know that since it's launch in China like 2months ago, it's got millions of subs and they're opening new regions every couple of weeks.

Flop? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

I agree that it won't drastically change the game play, or anything in the early levels, but there's nothing that needs changing. Everything works in a great way, quite the contrary of any of the flops you're talking about. The only complaints you're hearing is that it's a "WOW CLONE", most ignorant statement ever. There are no complaints on any game feature, content, combat, performance etc.

The question isn't whether Aion will flop or not, it's whether it will be a resounding success in the west, or just the normal, hundreds of thousands subscribers base.

Actually, I do know those things. And you clearly have problems with reading comprehension. I never claimed that Aion would flop. I merely pointed out the the logical fallacy of claiming that 'It's just beta.'

Nothing major is going to change between now and beta. That is the basic point of a beta test.

As to wether Aion flops or not, who knows   I for one will not install it on my computer as long as it has Gameguard attached. But I do hope it succeeds because competition is good for the market.

Don't you all have some reputation to farm?

WoW is like McDonald's Lotro is like a steak house. But they are both restaurants.

Your mistake is not that you think Lotro is similar to WoW, but that you don't realize where WoW came from and what games it 'copied'.

I would like to check this one out once it gets out of the Hype stage.

Real time environment changes without instances sounds like a promising step forward in the genre.

I would love to blame Microsoft for this, but the fact is that Gameguard is a POS and you are going to have to disable important security features of your OS designed to prevent Rootkits from being installed in order for it to work.

Even with double XP (and a built in bot  )  It's quite a grind to get to lvl 30 when the PVP starts. It seems like the only point of the game is going to be PVP and the only people who are going to be good at PVP are those who spend the item shop cash to refine equipment.

Gameguard.

Botting issue aside... Gameguard is nasty software in general. IMO it is the wrong way for companies to head. I have serious doubts about ever playing a game that installs a rootkit on my computer.

this thread is going to start fires.

Interesting, so the liberal left's initiative to put internet in every American's house is actually ruining gaming for all of us !

PS3 and PC according to their site:

http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/

Also confirmed (PC) on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XIV

And yes, I for one am tired of the 'streamlined' mmorpg. If I wanted one, I would play Progess Quest.

WoW is lame bcuz its EZmode
