I'm in game right as I typed this, trying to get buffbot's attention to answer more questions and being throughly ignored.

ok got in touch with buffbot.... talked to him.  He said some contridictory things that did not change my mind, reported the whole deal to mythic.  Took more screenies of the conversation, will post in the morning... too tired to do so now..... it's almost 5 in the morning here

I don't know.... something about this does not smell right.... let's ignore the fact that he has only 2 posts here and that I've never heard of the site he's talking about AND when I google it the only hit is this same post on the warcry forums. Insteed lets look at the prizes.

5k gold for power leveling.... Who has 5k gold right now... I don't think that it would be possible for someone to have that much to give away unless they have a room full of farmers working away, and then there's the 9 2k prizes that he's offering. 23k in gold as prizes is a outrageous amount and not possible unless, again, this site has a team of farmers or has a deal with Mythic. If they had a deal it would be in the herald and the post would provide a link to it and it would of been announce long before the night it happens (look at the post and start times).

Finally, what is needed to participate. You need to roll a new order toon on the selected server, contact the rep, GIVE HIM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, and join his guild. Either this is a very thinly veiled attempt to pick up email addresses to be gold spammed (I hinted twice at the farmer idea) or a very elaborate attempt to get more order players on the hochland server.

Let's just hope for the sake of the game's reputation and the dopes that fall for it the later is true.

On a whim I rolled up on hochland and grilled Moc abit.  The Thor's hammer is not even up atm and will not be until october 25th, long after concusion.  When asked if it involved mythic at all he said it was Thor's hammer exclusively.  When asked why the real world email would be needed he said it was for the distrubution of "item codes" when pressed for where the item codes could be applied *ie the mythic website* he logged off.

I wish I could of asked him where the money was coming from.

oh... In that case, pony up to reactivate the account and pass the GM to yourself or someone else, then cancel it, problem solved. as for the name, I think you are stuck

so the leader is functionally leaving and not appointing anyone to manage in his stead?  Easy solution, jump ship.  Find a new guild run by people with the presence of mind to realize that you can't leave the group with out the ablility to use it's tactic points, standards and other wotnots and still expect it keep going or make your own. Ya you lose the effort of the past week or so, but it's not much time so no big really. As for changing the name, I do believe that they are set in stone when the guild was made.

Now in the situation that said leader did give someone full permissions then you are not missing out on much as there are only 2 ablilities of the guild master that cannot be granted to another person, and those are assign a new master or make an alliance.  The rest can be done by any rank with the permissions.

I my guild, I gave full options to my 2nd in command, he can do all I can but the 2 afformentioned tasks, and my officer core ( of one person ATM) can do all but change rank permissions and names and kick from guild (and maybe a couple of minor things I can't remember ATM).

known issue

Bretonnia order side would be a good choice (if you swing that way) it's medium ATM but feels closer to high, a few more bodies would help, and it would correct a small population imbalance.

Frankly if you are rank 27 I think you missed the point of WAR, you would have obviously had to pve grind up to that level non-stop and this is a pvp game.

The washed out textures and blocky models is caused by a process called Level of Detail.  What it does is scales down a models details for performance sake (ie it's off in the distance or there's hundreds of players on screen).

well the fact that you just zinged yourself aside, Warhammer is a very dark/gothic game in both play style and art.  The character design just fits in with that idea.

The problem as i see it right now with comparing anything from WAR with WoW is that even the people that have played WAR have only seen a limited amount of it. My worry about the game as i see the way it progresses is that there is only going to be so many times that you can take the same objective before it gets boring?? This is the same critisism that is levelled at WoW PvP, but from what i see at the moment, WAR has based it's whole game along this premise, just on a grander scale. Before everyone screams at me, i know it is a massive over simplification, but at the end of the day it is a case of Take objective - move to next objective - take main objective - rinse and repeat! How many times will you be able to do it?

I can say, that as an elder beta tester, the tier 4 content and zones are far from boring.  I can't give perticulars but it's as entertaining as tier 1 was.   As for the "take the objective, rinse repeat" what else is there?  Wars are fought over objectives, this hill, that city, some road, it's a fact of warfare and the games are just mirroring that.  I could be worse... the end game could be kill a bunch of tanknspank trash the a scripted boss, rinse repeat....  Oh wait there's X other games that do that same thing.

That being said.  Bloody graphics does not a good game make.  Good games can have then but don't need to.  The devs decided against blood, so live with it or play another game.

amen to that.  I utterly despised AOC and played WoW until it made me sick and I don't troll their forums, why would I want to?

I don't get some people's need to let everyone know that they don't like a game.  If you don't like it then don't play and keep you mouth shut.
