by all probability blizzard checks the IPs your account is logged from and if the IP is from a "known powerlever service provider" you get banned. THey don't ban you for playing at internet cafés for example, but I know you know that already

Blizzard is only hurting themselves when they expect a family to pay for several accounts. Why would I pay 45$ a month to play thier came for 3 people if one account would work just as well? If they ban us, then they must not want my business too badly...

like they care about YOUR money...

Well... Starcraft and diablo dont use the same graphix or gaming engine.  And neither do they use the same dev team.  Funcoms games do.  They put two games into one project.  Now they are cashing in on the graphics engine in AOC - without actually providing any stable core mecanics on the rest of the game.   I was hoping they would manage to make some kinda stable engine in the next 6 months - but it seems we are talking about at least a year now.

 

Actually I think Diablo 3 will use Starcraft 2 engine, also WoW uses Warcraft 3 engine.

  I've read that d3 uses the wow engine but with higher polygon count and such

mythic couldn't have spent more than 5 bucks on the patch server

There are still 1000-1500 online in the evenings on that cluster and will likely be even more with everyone quitting AOC and Warhammer coming out soon.

Regarding the balance in WoW vs the balance in WAR. Since all of you know that RvR will contain "_lots_ of ppl versus _lots_ of ppl" -fights, 1on1 will by logical reasoning be more unbalanced in WAR than what is it in WoW.

Blizzard banned me once for using Curse Gaming's 'Ultimate Warcraft Add-on Pack' that at the time had over 122,000 other downloads. I found it hard to believe that I and 122,000 other gamers were all given 3-day bans for these add-ons that millions of players use.

I never resubbed after the ban.

Blizzard is in it for themselves... 10 million players x $15 per month each and they can only crank out one expansion every 18 months?

Their CEOs are rich enough... they don't need my money anymore.

 

boho, SOE banned my eq2 account because I resubbed with a different credit card. Then they unbanned me and removed my playtime
