I don't know what you are smoking but you need to put it down. 

AO is a bit behind graphics wise but that is eclipsed by its far superior gameplay.  The dedication that went into coming up with back stories for a majority of items, the purely tourist spots in AO where one would visit to see something that the creators threw in just to add a little extra scenery (like those giant faces carved into the landscape), dynamic background like those giant alien carriers that would block out the sun when the passed over wailing wastes.  Other seemingly trivial but pleasing fluff that showed a dedication to craftsmen ship.

Of course its not just the fluff that makes the game.  AO is the MMO that should set the standard for all the others with its wide variety of activities and absorbing quests.

Those koean mmo's especially could learn something from AO.

In essence, what I mean with my post is that I dislike the traveling aspect of the game. I read a post in a thread below this one and a guy wrote exactly what I felt and it was the traveling part of the game thats annoying

The reason for wow players not to embrace newbies is because they dont have too - there simply are too much people so none have to be nice because the population in the game is so vast. unlike eq2 where players are few and very nice to eachother and to new players because they want a bigger community/playerbase

btw I cant seem to find an active CoX trial, is there one? I played the game before but id like to try it out again

I wish they re-made AO but with graphics to fit the decade.

I have a very good pc and AO is lagging (eq2/wow doenst and its a lot more demanding)

I like the concept of the game and everything, the complexity but I cant stand the environments / landscapes / graphics. Some of the stuff looks ok but when youre walking on an almost totally green texture for 10 minutes and occasionally spotting some rocks/trees you just cant take it anymore. Its poorly made and I just cant spend my time on something that looks like its made with no love.

The ammo-icon and the bags were strikingly similar to AO :-o

I played the trial, wasnt quite my style

It takes alot of time to download the whole client + all the expansions and updates

think it'll be fun

I have 100mb/s fiberoptic connection.

I can run EQ2 on high with a good framerate.

I can run WoW on maximim with no fps problems.

I can run Rainbow Six vegas on maximum with no fps problems,

battlefield 2 on maximim with no fps problems,

splinter cell double agent on maximum settings with no fps problems,

STALKER on maximum with no fps problems,

hitman blood money on maximum with no fps problems

I have to agree with you. I *think* that the numbers of new paying costumers is almost none existant. I cant really see why they dont just make it all free or atleast fix the game so its playable. It's a great game and all. I like it when its really hard but I rubberband alot and my fps sucks : / its really too bad. they should make everything free or atleast take some months to fix the engine the game runs on
