OP, purchase darkfall

And Mortal Online blows DF combat away.

if ever, I've played MO beta for a long time and the combat is not in any way better than dfs combat

old player does not kill noobs by the goblin spawn for regs, what kind of bullshit it that?

Hi,
I pretty much tried everything, and not many mmo's seem "for me" so i'm curious about trying darkfall.. but..
I always been a carebear.. while i understand the PvP / Full loot.. if  i play safe can i enjoy it as a mainly pve player?  Can i go solo a lot?
My play times are one night a week for about 4-5 hours, and a hour here or there the rest of the week. It's hard to have real time to dedicate.
Also I enjoy playing stealthy based characters, And i know little of this game....

Any thoughts?

Vaed

no, pretty much the only pve you will see as a solo player is goblins

I have a story to share. I'm not the best at telling stories but I'll try.

I had finished all the goblin killing in the mahirim starter area. I had advertised in the channel that I was interested in joining a clan. I got to join one after a short while. After that I went to a place east of that which is inhabited by trolls. The very leader of the clan came to me and gave me a bag filled with staves, armor, swords and all kinds of things a new player would be very greatful to get. As I started trying to kill the trolls I noticed that they were a lot tougher than me and that I wouldn't be able to solo it. Shortly after, another adventurer arrived, a mahirim aswell, and we started killing the trolls together. We did this for maybe an hour or so. After about an hour had passed I got very low on hp due to several trolls. My mahirim friend started attacking me and consequentially killed me and took all my stuff I had gathered + the stuff I had been given by the clan leader. I respawned in the mahirim spawning place and just laughed, wtf really.

I have not seen a single reference to old school Ultima Online pre-T2A. Nearly all of his criticisms are a throw back to UO. The only thing new is the fps element.
Trying to judge this based on EQ/WoW criteria misses the point entirely.

word.

----------------

I played DF in beta and I bought BF about 2 months ago and played maybe a week. I want to love the game but I couldn't find any incentive to log back on : /

I'd be happy, not having to potentially die and all that

raiding has been dumbed down to never seen before lenghts

what the fuck? is this a bad joke? Judging by the screenshot this game will fail so miserably it's unbelievable. I mean come on, the graphics of that game are dated even by 2005s standard. And let's face it, that UI looks a tad bit too uninventive and erhm.. blatantly copied from another game *cough*

I've played EQ2 on and off for soon 3 years and I know what you're saying. I don't get why you have several abilites that does instant damage, just with a different name.

If you roll a ranged class you will find the combat gets more interesting, I love the ranger class. Wizards are fun too but got a little too boring after spamming the same abilities over and over

 Tutorial for a sanbox game?

What exactly should this tutorial include mate? :D

There has been a quick guide for new players from the start explaining controls and other basic stuff.

Eve had one of the most extensive tutorials I have seen, and it very much a sandbox game. I would say if the game is complicated then it will have a tutorial of some kind, and starting areas are made to slowly introduce game elements.

Sandbox design does not equal complicated game.

See Darkfall.

truth, darkfall is very very straight-forward and easy to understand

Get a new computer folks.

It actually looks pretty bad. Low res and low detail. and by the way, I'm quite sure my computer is better than yours

GTX 260 900MB

Phenom II x4 945

8GB 800Mhz RAM

and no you dont

hd 4870x2

core2 extreme x9650

8 gb 800Mhz

err was I talking to you?

I e-mailed SV like 2 months ago about me wanting a refund, I still haven't got an answer. I'm guessing they don't give a fuck, not even enough to send a simple "no"

BTW the word is spelled MORE not MOAR, most people learned that around the 3rd grade. So at least spell correctly if you want to try to insult me, which you will never accomplish.

Welcome to the internets, cry moar

AION is a korean game.. NCSOFT was always known for its grindy games... and you cant say that oh its a grind if you want it to....LOL

it didnt matter if you quest in a NCSOFT game or not.. it was all very grindy... its the way the koreans like it.  takes a LONG TIME TO LEVEL in their games.

every game i have ever tried by NCSOFT was no different then its last...

as for the naysayers saying WAR is dead... BS

its far from dead.

in fact i resubbed and lovin it... nonstop action in tier 4

on top of that... if any of you played DAOC.. Mythic thrives on RVR for end game... and most who complained about WAR never played daoc or truly knows mythics history... RVR is its end game.. yet so many complained thats not enough...

LOL

cant laugh enough that you didnt expect that... thats what the end game is in WAR.. ITS PVP.. ITS OPEN RVR.. that is the end game... not pve... and if you know mythic from DAOC.. PVE was never their strong suit....

their strong point was RVR...

until the thick headed realize that... those thick headed will continue to bash the game.

its a fun game... and my suggestion... resubb and give it a chance.

You grind mobs or you grind quests everything in the mmo genre is a grind get over it.

..It seems the definition of the word "grind" changes as people want to in order to make stupid arguments. but really, grinding is when you stay in a specific location killing the same mobs over and over again for either loot or exp. You can't by definition grind quests.

WAR is really fun and it is improving. The game isn't unstable for me either.

I played darkfall in beta and I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever play darkfall

About a week ago I bought the game and it has improved a lot. it actually feels like a game, and it's very unique and entertaining. You can get really fucking pissed and very entertained, also, doing shit actually matters. My clan recently bought a city, we've had to defend it a lot of times from incomming surges of reds, but it's all good

the only thing I don't like about DF is the chat system. They should give us the ability to color code chats and to merge chat tabs. aswell as implement a right-click function on chat names

I started playing yesterday, I'm having fun. Joined a clan with an alliance that had their own town. I also got a starter kit by an officer that helped me alot :)
