NatWest is a [real life] banking company. It's probably just someone's bank character, since advertising bots are no more than level 1 (then deleted in a hurry). I see the occasional bank character and/or guild named after Norwegian banks at least, so chances are the international corporations, etc., will be used as well for naming purposes. |

So... is there ANY truth to this or is it simply a rumor that has somehow infested a vast majority of random forums on the 'Net? |

Warcraft was originally intended to be Warhammer, but because Games Workshop withdrew their license (and other complications) Bizzard ended up making their own lore and in that way released what may have an astounding (but not surprising) similarity to Warhammer. ...or so I've heard. |

With the introduction of Wrath of the Lich King players will allegedly receive XP from PvPing, thus (eventually) being forced out of their PvP brackets. Can anyone confirm this? Feel free to share your thoughts... |

Blah Blah is recruiting... (Guild recruitment spam)
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 9/16/08 2:40:15 PM
Since newly started guilds exceed at spamming the trade channel 24/7 with "<Blah Blah> is recruiting... Planning on doing Kara soon..." (gold spammers pale in comparison) why not merge with the approx. 1 million other guilds in your realm doing the exact same thing? You might get an actual raid going instead of getting reported in-game by players. Just my two cents. Have a nice day! |

No Shade Of Grey: Order of Destruction is *evil*

"Order of Destruction"? What a weird title... So, I guess that would make the good guys the "Order of Order" then? Tee-hee! *cough* |

New patch: Bug+Feedback report features (re)moved
WAR Open Beta Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/13/08 5:19:31 AM
I noticed that the Bug+Feedback report features now have been removed (or moved to a less obvious location) as of latest patch. Does this mean that Mythic no longer are in need of feedback despite the fact that they are, indeed, in need of feedback? I'm not sure what to make of this... |

I don't get it. Why are players complaining about healers in WAR being "OP" (overpowered)? Healers should be powerful - at healing (that is after all what they do) - NOT damage. The price they pay is that they're "squishies" (low armor) and once they run out of Action Points it's pretty much Game Over. If you can't really defend yourself with offensive spells, then you should at least have the chance to get away through healing yourself. It's not like you're doing much harm to the opponent in the process. Does staying alive in the battlefield mean that you're OP? Try playing a healer yourself and see how it feels! Side note: WAR may change the definition of what a healer is per say since they can also be competent DPSers if specced into it, but that's not really the case here since you will most likely drain your AP pool exclusively on heals to stay alive. |

Path of Mork or Gork or Da Green for leveling a shaman?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/12/08 9:00:14 AM
Hard to say, but Da Green can probably be ruled out, as it is more of a buff/debuff path from the looks of it. Don't quote me on that one. So the dilemma is really whether you want to do 5 okay heals followed by a REALLY good damage spell OR 5 okay damage spells followed by a REALLY good healing spell. I'm only 9 on my Shaman, so points in various forms are rather limited still, but put I them all in Intellect for spell damage for leveling purposes. The heals seem to be decent enough anyways for both soloing and PQ'ing. My buddy has a Shaman a few levels higher than me and he's specced DPS, but actually heals better than most others in scenarios, so kinda hard to say. Hmm!

So maybe I'm picky. Or am I? Anyway, I find it hard to immerse myself into something that has animations similar to a GIF-anim consisting of 5 images. The whole thing just feels a lot less responsive. Open any 3D character from [insert drumroll here] World of Warcraft in WoW Model Viewer, pick an animation and scroll through the frame-slider. It's a friggin' ballet! I don't need fancy state-of-the-art graphics (Which WAR doesn't have anyway), but I do want gameplay that works AND animations that look smooth. If they (the graphics artists) can make decent animations on an 8-bit console, the animators should be able to make 3D models look A LOT better. |

Warhammer Online looks good aestethically, the PQs+RvR is good clean fun, etc., but I find the animations overrall to be REALLY poor and stiff. To me that is a HUGE turn-off and quite possibly a make or break. I expected more to be honest. Yes, it's Open Beta and as much as I'd like this game to succeed (already bought the Pre-Order + Collector's Ed.) I doubt that they will go through every animation in the game and make it look like...well...actual movement. Will there be a major patch coming up shortly that will fix this or is this pretty much a case of "what-you-see-is-what-you-get"? What do you guys think? (x.O) EDIT: A majority of the 3D models look like they were rendered, taken a screenshot of and then saved to a GIF-anim. It's that bad. Is it really too much to ask that they would put more effort into it? Oh, and I'm not trying to troll in any way, these are just my personal opinions. |

Technical issues: EU or US client?
WAR Open Beta Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/11/08 1:44:10 PM
When posting about technical issues in the Open Beta could you guys please state which client you are using? That information alone could quite possibly sort out a lot of the misunderstandings on the forum. |
