Marvel Super Hero Squad Online: TV Show Actors Voicing Game
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/08/12 6:41:47 PM
I think I recognized one actor's name on that list but can't figure out where I know them from or if it's just their name that is familiar. |

I would love to see some decent size guild caps... TOR capped at 500 but then again, that game was obviously not designed for guilds. |

I got a chuckle out of this as well. And they even get defensive about it in the article itself. In my opinion though, if you feel you need to put in some sort of comment about that in the article, it should be a really good sign that it doesn't belong. |

City of Heroes: Death of the Statesman Interview

Thank god they killed him off. That tool was responsible for "enhancement diversification." I just wish he would stay dead. But how many heroes do? Next time they need a ratings boost, bam, he's back. "Oh, by the way, I'm Zeus." |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: How to Improve PvP
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/12 1:11:33 PM
I think you've missed a couple of obvious ways. Number one for me would be: I only like one of the three warzone maps. The other two are just boring as crap (whether my team is winning or losing, I just lose interest very quickly in them). So I would like to be able to queue for the single map I like. And of course, I'd like them to put in more so hopefully I could find a second or third. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Crew Skills and the Endgame
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/10/12 1:30:40 PM
With a couple of minor exceptions, TOR crafting is largely a money & time sink. Pretty much any drops at 50 (and quite a few in the 47-49) range are better than the orange gear that can be put together. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: 5 Ways The Sith Empire is Pure Win

You forgot the biggest reason: the Empire community! Ok, maybe that's not a point in favor of... I'll go back to my "handful of pebbles" vs your force lightning. Or maybe I'll toss a septic tank at you. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Official SWTOR Review

I also didn't think crafting was fun. Accessible? To some for some of the crafts. Just not overly fun. The farther up you get, the more of a time sink it is and the rewards (i.e., the items) are still sub-par to most drops. I notice that the Gameplay section spends several paragraphs on the class stories. I don't consider that actually game PLAY. Plot, sure. Game and class mechanics, PvP, travel/mounts, and things along those lines are what *I* consider game play. Right now, I'm giving it a 6 based on what I've experienced so far. PvP warfronts are a joke unless you're 50. They were fun for the first few days but then the sides end up all 50s on one side and a mixed bag on the other, it's not even skill that's going to make much of a difference. BioWare made a poor choice IMO in not banding levels for warfronts. (which is a statement I have seen my 800+ person guild echo repeatedly) |

Well, #4 is about the only one that interested me from this list. Of course, #5 is a catch-all but I expected that. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Mirrored Classes
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/01/11 9:03:57 AM
Yeah, this mirrored class thing is why I think the game is pretty much going to hit the make/break mark around 4 months. That's when a good percentage of folks will have capped a character or two and flipped to the other side. Now if BioWare can be pushing out new content at the speed Trion does, then they may have a chance to withstand the mass exodus. |

I don't hate WoW. I just wasn't overly impressed by it. And I was disappointed at how Blizzard keeps lowering the bar to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Form a group, work really hard, accomplish XYZ? Well, in 6 months, a random PUG of brand-new level capped folks can do the same thing without researching or planning. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: 5 Things We Love About SWTOR
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/21/11 3:17:44 PM
"But we all agree that the quasi-Clone Wars look of the characters and world are a damn sight better than if BioWare had tried to make the game look like the live action movies." No, we don't all agree. I didn't like SWG at all but I think the character models all looked a lot better there. While I do think the TOR is a superior game to SWG, the giant steroid-laden, barrel chested characters are laughable... and not in a funny way. Luckily, some of the body sizes are more realistic and don't look as awful. But I still would have much preferred a live-action look. Or hell, even what BioWare did in the Dragon Age or Mass Effect series. |
