So I stopped playing Skyrim for a while so I could get something with a more dense storyline. In this case I'm talking about the first Mass Effect game, that I got in the last Steam deal. The game, as everybody probably already knows, is the opposite of Skyrim: great main story, worst side quests ever. But that has nothing to do with my point here.

The thing is: in my 30 hours of ME I saw something like 3 times the quantity of bugs I saw while playing 60 hours Skyrim, including random CTDs and being trapped or thrown outside the meshes of the levels. I know Skyrim for ps3 had serious issues but my pc version crashed 3 times and presents some collision bugs once in a long while.

And I'd give Skyrim a 9/10, not because it's so technically great, but because the experience I'm having is so rich and great that some issues I have about it are just not enough to make me feel bad about it.

No, really. I usually open the game just to walk around the woods a bit (which usually results in finding something interesting).

When I see a humanoid character with bunny ears I always wonder what there is in the place where normal human ears would be. But they always have this long hair that never reveals their big secret.

I was kind of disappointed... until I saw the video.

Loving it for now. At first I didn't like the interface, but now I think it's kinda elegant. I like how I can navigate the menus using the mouse or simply with the WASD keys. Still I'll wait for some more PC-ish interface mod.

My only problem was with the classical "favorites menu" since it made me think "why the hell can't I just bind my skills to the number keys?!" but someone answered my doubts for me here.

Another thing that surprised me was how smooth this game runs. I thought it was going to be pretty heavy on my processor because of its small size. I'm running on high settings in a Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz, 2GB of RAM and a GTS 450. I get around 30 fps in the open world and 50 to infinite in closed areas.

Too bad I didn't think anything cool.

I just wondered "What Dance Dance Revolution has to do with mmorpgs?" =/

Seems like a good game. A friend of mine that plays it says its f2p elements are pretty fair.

I wanted to try it but I found out it was region locked for me (I live in South America). A real pity.

Going to war, gotta get my high heels.

I've seen some people here avoiding the morals and even economic discussions on piracy by simply going for arguments like "It's against the law, therefore it's wrong! And that's all!".

Now I'm curious: in my country there is still no law against downloading or sharing material under copyright, piracy here is when you are making profit in some way using this kind of material (like selling burned DVDs). So does this make me magically right if I download a game here because I'm not acting against the law?

My point here is that this piracy discussion goes beyond law statements and sticking with just that is pointless. Also, laws can and should change with the world around them.

I also cry a little every time I see some random dude going all "Aww! Poor mega companies, they are just inocent victims in this cruel game of captalism". B**ch, please.

Rift was the game that made me lose my all hopes with the current MMORPGs.

I was always a f2p guy since subscriptions get a bit expensive in my country and I was just not that interested. I used to hear a lot how p2p games were not mindless grindfests like those generic Korean free games. Then there was that Rift anniversary promotion in which they allowed people to play the game for free for 5 days.

Man, I was disapointed. The game began as always, in front of some person who has that exclamation on his head that gave me some quest to talk to another NPC, and soon I was doing lots of the quest that has always been haunting my dreams: "Go there and kill X of those mobs!" And it followed like that always. I was like "If people say this game is a wow clone, so that's what wow and p2p are? A polished grindfest with better community?"

Still, I liked some stuff like the way you can customize your profession with 3 sub-classes, but all in all, there were better things to do with $15. I've got to try that WoW trial but now I'm not that motivated.

Every time I remember there is still a profession to be revealed I get sad. I remember that there are still some "next great news" until we get a release date.

ROFL..  I bet 90% of the people posting about how they want a 35 dollar stuffed animal, just because its Gw2 have atleast posted once some anti cash shop / company greed post.. But oh wait, its Gw2 the second coming of christ in video game form, lets all swipe our credit cards for stuffed animals..

No I really LOL'd at this one.. sooooo epic... so very epic.

Or maybe it's just a stuffed animal... From a game... That we happen to like (I'm thinking more about GW1 than GW2)... And maybe, and only maybe, people just buy this kind of stuff. Giving a charr to your girlfriend that happens to play GW with you just sounds nicer than giving her a generic stuffed bear (in case you want to give her this kind of gift).

In B4: new trend of discussions on mmorpg.com about real-life cash shop products ruining/saving the world. Following, The Secret World announces line of books based on the game written by Dan Brown, posts get longer.

I also loved it, but since my currence is not dollar, it gets a bit pricey to me also. Also there is the international delivery fee.

But I like the idea, they should do this more often and maybe I'd buy some GW stuff to make my bedroom a cuter place or to gift someone with style.

I do love Korean art style. Yeah, I include overly sexy women with uncovering armor, but I do agree with the guys complaining about the big swords, even it's not something that would made me not play a game. It's just looks childish, in contrast to the rest of the game.

And they are cutting stuff from the loli race, Pedobear disapproves.

8 is the new 9, and 9 is the new 10. 10 is totally unrealistic.

8.6 for a 6 year old game is equally unrealistic. You are being way too kind, and, im sorry to say, not credible.

The age of a game is not mutually exclusive from a good score. Grapics-wise older games will look poor in comparison, however, gameplay>graphics in games. There are a number of games that are older that have much better gameplay options compared to games that are released now. Classic games remain classics because they were pinnacle games of their time, and most often stand up to the ravages of time.

And I'do go even deeper on that "graphic x age" topic. Dated graphics don't mean ugly bad graphics. Graphics are very closely related to art design and this one, when good, it never gets old. No matter how many years pass, I still think Chrono Trigger (yes, the SNES game) is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played and if somebody asked me to review that game I'd give it a high score on graphics. I myself tend to see "graphics" as a really subjective aspect, more than the technical stuff related to the technologies used.

Aside from "art design", I still think GW looks kinda nice, mainly when compared to other MMOs that came 2, 3 or even more years after its debut.

It sounds all good, but why so many are interested in ugly evil cats from outer space... it's beyond me.

Everybody loves ThunderCats.

Bring Vindictus to rest of the world :)

I played some minutes of this game and the battle system is great. A decent made action oriented combat in a mmorpg is rare stuff.

Still, I've got this impression with Dragonica and soon the game turned to be extremely repetitive and I stopped playing it. So I won't run around screaming that Dragon Nest is the next great f2p that can beat p2p games yet and I'll give it some more time. Also, the loading times are too long.

How is that possible that nobody made a comment about the music?! The piano music at the beginning of the trailer is absolutely gorgeous. I hope the game's actual soundtrack will keep the same quality.

I'm a great fan of video-game soundtracks, but for me it's rare to find music in mmorpgs really memorable.

("listening" to the video again here)

This game is getting me anxious. I need a release date.

So they took away the lolis from the Western version?
