They probably gonna merge all the servers into one ot two.

At this point Wildstar is probably the biggest fail of the last 10 years of MMO history. Carbine wont say it, NCsoft wont say it, the playerbase wont say it but everyone knows it.

Im talking about AAA MMOs and WIldstar was sold as one of them. Warhammer, AoC were a disappointment at some point, but they sold a really good amount of copies at launch, and the population drop was significant just months after release, in Wildstar it was in less than a Month.

ESO?, they still have content updates each month, and even when the elder games is not that good and people quit once they hit the VR grind. ESO have a good population from level 1 to 50, and new players all the time. Wildstar doesnt have new players.

given that their f2p model is pretty crappy, I'd bet that's mostly subbed players.

Now that you can buy account unlocks from the GTN for credits, it isn't too bad at all (if you have tons of creds that is).

free and preferred players have a ridiculous credit cap, only subscribers can buy such things on the GTN.

So, you want as a F2P player  the same benefits that a subscriber have for free, interesting. And maybe im wrong, but so far looks like the F2P model of BW is working. ¿why they should change it?.

Really??Are people actually bitching about millisecond ping-times in this day and age? No... tell me are people REALLY bitching about ping times still?

Go play Quake 2 on a dial up connection and enter a server with a dozen DSL users, then come back to this thread and bitch away all you like. You people are talking about ping times that are still faster than the average human reaction time. In other words you won't notice or see them.

FPS games did not always have lag-compensation. The early ones played fine. People with 100 ms differences still remained competitive with others. Is this generation of gamer such a spoiled little elitist they can't even deal with some latency?

Go back to the real world and play catch if you want low-lag gaming... oh wait... that's right. The average human reaction time is 215 ms!!! Ohhh geez! How can we function with anything more than 100 ms!?!??!?!?!??!

People bitching about lag need to A) Play this game on a PC that won't stutter and cause frame rate drops that sooooooooooooooooo freakin' many gamers label as "lag" and B) actually play the goddamned game instead of speculate about playing it.

I live in Bumblefuck, the middle of absolutely nowhere, high-desert, no town for 90 miles southwestern US. I had plenty of PvP action with 0 lag issues during the last 2 betas on high pop servers. According to the doomsayers on this thread, I should have been dead simply by logging into the game!

This is a MMO not a FPS and we are talking about ability delay.  With no skill queue or lag compensation, the guy with better ping than you, will do more dps in the same amount of time than someone wtih 200ms.

New MMOs have that system for a reason.

'Sunk Cost Fallacy'?

Why do we continuously bash Blizzard for a huge success in the history of the company? Give me one other company that has the tenure and the subs as a measurement of success? Why has no one else come close?

Where are the 'millions of people' who quit playing WoW? I bet they are doing nothing more but trying to find a replacement that will satisfy the quality of gaming that WoW has produced over the years.

WoW wasn't always WoW. It evolved from a cheesy rpg with box-to-box capabilities named, WoW.

"More Wood Please"

Let's be honest, the game has taken many turns and Blizzard has been the standing champion of change.

"Change is good." -S.Walton

Change has made the game a huge success across many platforms and genres. Blizzard failed in many of the changes they dished out but has always been big enough to control what they can... content! They are the masters of eye-candy and people want to be taken away from wherever they are, WoW is a huge time sink (not necessarily a fallacy).

I played WoW until my life changed enough to move on. No way will I ever begin to think it was a huge mistake or even something I was doing while other gaming companies evolved. I had solid fun. The community was great and I developed good friends along the way.

It is not a mistake that WoW survived this long but merely that Blizzard has a finger on the pulse of gamers.

WoW is good or great for the people who have been playing it for the last 10 years. But you know?,  you have out there an insane amount of gamers or MMO players who never played WoW or just dont like it at all, they are scattered playing other games.

And like i said before, the 7 mill of subs number is a bit tricky.

The primary reason why WoW still have 7 mill of subs is called ¨ASIAN MARKET¨.

I was called a troll earlier in this thread and if OP wishes to think that then so be it.  OP did finally provide a link with people complaining about no ability queue, which I agree is part of his complaint, but if you create a new account and make one if not your first post on a forum throwing a fit about a game you better have proof to back yourself up.

Now to continue this, I am glad there is no queue, this might actually make people play instead of creating macros to fire off their abilities.  As far as lag compensation goes, every game has lag, game developers can only do so much as they have no control of their signal after it leaves their location.  If you have a bad internet service then you will tend to have worse lag then someone with good service.  Is this the games fault?  No.  Is it your fault?  Maybe, depends on if there are other internet services in the area you could have that could be better.

Macros on PvP, yes probably 10 years ago or maybe some F2P game still have that issue. A PvP player doesnt use macros to play, i mean, thats just the faster way to gimp yourself in a fight where the situation change everysingle second.

Latency is on the top 3 priorities for a PvP player in a MMO if not the number 1. This issue is a gamebreaker for the PvP community. And you have out there way too many examples where the latency killed the PvP in a MMO.

When you lose a fight or duel just because the guy in front of you have way better ping and not skill, the PvP die, easy like that. Skill queue is one of the best innovation that we can find a MMO these days, is a must have to improve the PvP and PvE experience. Not having this system ingame is like going back 10 years into the past of the online gaming.

This is for the people who play and then bail because they didn't like the game and then just start posting doom and gloom threads because they want everyone to share in their disappointment which was self inflicted.

Man the sky is not falling and as a matter of fact you guys are so far off its funny.  There are 174 ranked guilds on that website that have killed the first boss in GA.  That takes a lot of effort from AT LEAST 20 people to accomplish.  MANY of those guilds have WAY more then 20 members.  My guild currently has 34 raiders and around 15 friends and family if that gives you an idea.

174 x 20 =3480 active players.   THAT'S JUST THE RAIDERS AT WORST CASE NUMBERS.  That would be one over populated server.  Now take in the fact that there are a TON of RP guilds, PVP guilds and MANY MANY progression guilds that are still farming Silver Dungeons just to get into the raids.

3480 x $14.99 = $52165 a month they are getting.  SO I am going to do the laws of math and ASSUME that raiders make up about 10 percent of the actual player base.  That would be $500000 a month if NO ONE bought any Creed, which if you stand near the creed dealer can hear someone buying creed like once every 5 minutes. Also I know at least 10 people who have server transfer....JUST yesterday and that's another 20$ per person.

O lets not forget box sales that they have already earned.  So 3480 (worse case again) x 49.99 (also worst case because there is a 74.99 upgrade..that I for one bough).  3480x59.99 = $208000 x 10 (10 percent) is over two million dollars.

Thats just basic math ASUMMPTIONS which shows that I was off by a good amount because

this show that 74000 BOX sales alone (NOT DIGITAL SALES) have been sold.  That's at least 3.7 million dollars they have earned from boxes.  I am guessing that digital sales were 3-5times that amount if not more because NO one really buys boxes anymore in MMO's. Thats over 20 million dollars (more if you factor that many people purchased the 74.99 version).

So that is just a small survey slice of the Wildstar community.  I very very small slice that I greatly minimized just to show that worst case outlook.

So sorry to burst your bubble but if you just did some minor research or ACTUALLY played the game past the first 20 levels you would see that the game is not only doing fine but it's thriving.  The sky is not falling...hell its a nice sunny say outside.

The game is doing really well so if you have been avoiding the game because of the DOOM and GLOOM post...your just missing out on a very good game because of someone elses ignorance.

You really have no idea.  WS is a AAA MMO, or at least they want us to believe that. 74k Box sales (we know about the digital sales, still we have no officials numbers),  is a HUGE failure from any point of view, we are not talking about an indie MMO, Wildstar is a NCsoft game with all that means and it doesnt look like the numbers are growing.

This game cant survive long enough with a niche playerbase, easy like that, Carbine know it, NCsoft know it. So WS is heading the F2P/B2P model or we could find a new Tabula rasa.

Skill and Patience!.  You havent played too many MMOs, right?.

And about the low population, this pretty much say it all.

And ESO numbers so people cant make a comparison

True, do not include digital sales, but everyone can have an idea of what going on.

Except Wildstar is being played more than ESO right now...we can only assume that means more sales or just a smaller crowd enjoys playing in Wildstar. Wildstar isnt sold in too many stores, most of their sales were from online.

This post is just one of many talking about Wildstar low population and empty servers, but you are saying that is being played more than ESO.

This could open a whole new game.

Is a Korean MMO, which translate into:

  • Grind.
  • OP classes on PvP (especially mages).
  • Strong players ganking weak players.
  • The 1 skill Kill on PvP or like everyone call it, one shot kills.
  • Grind.
  • a heavily gear based game
  • A Fluff paradise of useless things. (Like a Car in a medieval game, as an example)
  • Grind.
  • An insane amount of free time to be competitive or progress ingame.
  • And of course, more Grind.
Not even talking about Trion being just a publisher, so all the updates and xpacs are made thinking on the eastern playerbase. But to be honest there is a lot of people who love and play this kind of games on the western market, actually playing games like Aion or Tera, all of them F2P games, I wonder why?.

........., Ok.  Just try to find the game for youself, you wont be missed.

This was inevitable, It happen with everysingle new MMO, but i cant remember a drop that big in an AAA MMO like this before in a month or even less. We found the same problem in games like SWTOR and WAR (as an example), but not right after launch and they got 60-80 servers.

Even AOC, even with all the problems, had a good population a few months after launch. But this happen when you make a game that is literally a copy of another, people will try it, get tired, and go back to the original.

I seem to remember GW2 and SWTOR being equally empty a few months after release.  What cracks me up is that people roll new characters two months after release and then say, "startin zones are empty the game is dead!".  Yeah no kidding because unlike a lot of what is out there you actually have to play the game once you hit max level.  You can't just hit max level and then say, "I'm done, time to roll an alt!".

SWTOR hold on more than 1 mill of subs after the 3 months mark. Then the population drop was huge, but just till the merge or the new server tech, after that the game didnt have populations problems never again. ESO did good for at lest 2 months, And still from level 1 to 50 the population is really good. The new Vet changes and updates will bring people back to the game.

Wildstar by the other hand is empty in less than a month after release and we are talking about an AAA MMO.  Not a good sign. Tried the game once more time last week with a friend, even witht the trial, the game is just empty, never seen than before in an AAA MMO one month after release.

But the real problem here is NCsoft, we know what they do when a game is not profitable.

Is the new Flashpoint coming on the 2.9 Update GSH.  But, we know nothing about SWTOR 3.0 yet, so it could be also, a new planet.

All i can say is, that i have been playing ESO and WS for the last 3 months, now im back to SWTOR wating for GSH and news for the 3.0 xpac.

The game is far from perfect, but is fun, and thats all about. TOR have one of the best intanced PvP of the market, if not the best. The combat is fast, dynamic (far far away from the AOE spam fest of games like WS and ESO), wich make it more tactital and strategic, and even now the animations and reactive combat are just amazing .

SWTOR, like i said, is far from perfect but is a great game, gettting bigger and better overtime.

Probably the end of the 1st month and banned Bots.

It will get better?. No, like any other MMO before the population will drop, even worse when the New WoW xpac is coming.

At some point Anet and NCsoft were thinking months ago:

¨So we can spend a lot of money and resources to improve the game or just launch it on china¨.

So, now we know what are the Anet and NCsoft priorities and why we have no news about real content or an xpac for the game.

And I think this staff/light armor issue is more pvp related and not really related towards pve?

Is PvE related. At endgame, with trials and dungeons is all about light armor+resto staff, everything else is just useless.   1st 20 secs, all the grp but the tank have a staff and ligh armor.

Update 3 looks good, but not enough to make people come back to the game. Is just a fluff update. Too many problems to be addressed, like the class balance on PvE and  the VR grind.  The game is good, have potential, but still need a few more months of updates.
