Alot of people are just fine with spending more then a subscription would cost.

This is why games go free2play. if they ask 30 dollar for a sub everyone goes WTF OMG ROFL APESHIT, but spending it on the cashshop is somehow oke.

Beside some people spamming global chat at times you do realise this game is much more mature then most other mmorpgs?  This game is not appealing to kids and i would say the majority of the playerbase is atleast in their 20s and older.

Pulling a game down because you see 1 guy say something in chat u should quit internet in its whole.

This just happens when one clan decides to siege another clan for political reasons.

Clans are still building themselves up since the game is still rather new so this stuff does not happen so ofter currently.

Since everyone pretty much agreed the previous trailer sucked they have made a new trailer while there was one of the first sieges going on on the europe server.

Seems like one of the guys at aventurine actually does know how to make a trailer (i like it)  I was also part of this siege and it was the most fun ive ever had in a video game sofar.

Full loot is so hardcore because it makes players pick one of dozens of suits of armor from their bank each time they die.  Actually, that sounds about as hardcore as the gold cost to repair equipment in WoW.

If only you knew anything about this game. Yea you can have dozens and dozens of armor sets if its crap... in df1 armor was not a big unfluence  in Darkfall unholy wars it is.  Some stuff is going to be to expensive/ time consuming to create for anyone to run careless around with it.

I got the game for free.

Darkfall players had the option to buy darkfall unholy wars + 1 month sub for just 1 month worth of subscription for a   long period.  old players were also emailed about this.

No they would have to craft it themselves at first anyways.

Its good to see they didnt rush steam release when it got greenlit. The patches in the last week have been really good performance wise and the game runs really smooth.

Its a niche game, different from everything else and deffinetly not for everyone. But if you do like the concept of it and get into it its a great expierience. It is not a game you can play for a couple of days and say "Nope, dont like"  theres to much to it and the learning curve is pretty high.

I never had more fun in any other game and i suggest people to check the game out. There is a lot more to the game then ganking, looting, pvp.

These threads start to get repetitive.

Just like with Darkfall 1 tho they changed alot of things, Darkfall Unholy Wars is made for a small niche. The devs did not have an intent on creating a wow killed.

However this is a game you really need to expirience but be warned if you have some serious wood chopping to do (because the thing you want to do requires wood, you dont have to do it if you dont want it) 5 minutes of woodcutting gets you nothing:)

The gfx are quite nice,  go watch some videos foccusing on the gfx themselves not some guy playing the game without having touched his video setting or someone doing some pvp that has more then likely turned off most things to make it easier.

You now level up your skills via prowess points, which are gained by doing just about anything - harvesting, crafting, killing mobs.  The more you harvest/gather/kill in increments, the more prowess you get.  You then allocate those points to your skills for harvesting/crafting/combat, or you can spend them on stat boosters, i.e.e strength, dex, etc.

 

The world was actually made smaller by AV, and there are less holdings and no chaos cities.

 

The NPC quests are nonexistent, aside from the kill (x) of this mob in the dungeons, I believe.

 

The character models have all been made the same size, so with armor on, it really doesn't matter which race you chose.  This is the biggest =( for me; as the models and size of the models in DF1 were what gave me that "Holy Crap, this is awesome!" feeling.  The combat system doesn't seem to be as fluid, and there are classes (yeah, AV calls them roles): Warrior, Elementalist, Primalist, and Skirmisher.  Pretty limited set of combat skills.

 

Mana missile is still there, though.

 

Overall, it's a shell of DF1, pretty much a completely new game with a little bit of the feel of DF1; I'm playing it, though.  Might as well.  Maybe by 2019, AV can figure it all out and make a happy mixture of the two games.

It's a pity about it being a smaller world.

I was able to solo in DF because it was such a big world that I could explore the fringes with a low probability of getting ganked by a large force.

Dont worry about the world being to small its mostly useless water being removed with some small cuts out of the world here and there, The lakes are bigger in the new world so ships are deffinelty going to be a part in more sieges.

The world is still huge.

Quests npcs are removed and there is now a feats system. So basicly if you just play the game you will finish feats. You finish one feat and another more difficult one unlocks. You can ignore these completely if you want or just do the ones you feel like doing.

The new ui is very difficult to get into and needs some polishing here and there but once you get the hang of it its really good. My only complaint at darkfall unholy wars at the moment is releasing with not every prestige class available i hope they get the other ones ready before making the game available on steam and such. And i miss the old loot,inventory,banking system.

I wouldnt even care if all of them were doing heroin its a fking drawning of a game. You see smoking every day in your normal life and frankly the game devs tried to potray humans and humans suck on cancer sticks, deal with it.

If you want a smooth running game you dont play at launch day, however i must say its much smoother then most triple a games launched in the past years.

Also this is not a game you can expierience in 1 day. most of the content is not even played yet because players arent far enough to get to those things.

If you stop playing darkfall after your first day you havent done much researching about what type of game it is and should stick to games that tell you exactly what to do quest by quest.

I was pretty excited about it back in December when it was supposed to come out the first time, then it got delayed and I put it on the backburner.

I had heard bad things from beta testers, so just kind of gave up on the game.

Then to my dismay I learn the discount for DF veterans expired and was only for preorders.  Adventurine made my mind up for me.

I guess they don't want my $15.00.

I am not going to pay $40+ for the same game twice.  So I guess I'll get to try it when there is a free trial.

Put something to your sentence that would say why av cannot be praised at this time. They deffenetly did not do certain things in the correct way with darkfall 1.0 as a indie development team new to things like these.

They certainly listen to their community with unholy wars.  beta access forums full of proof. Loads of things discussed by the players being added,removed,tweaked.  Something concerning the players?  they open a specific forum for it for discussion between the players and the devs.

Its to easy to make such statements and i by no way mean they are perfect just like any other company.  i rather have the current Aventurine over most big succesfull companies any day.

The higher the imbalance the lower the reward.  if is significant then no reward at all.

if the rewards are worth ur time youll have loads of players joining the weaker side for better rewards if winning.
