One very important thing is missing from LoTRO
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 4/27/07 2:24:57 PM
Maybe they were scared that too many people would complain about the whole hobbits can't swim thing. So if you were to send them underwater, some fans of the literature just couldn't take it. That would be cool if they did the EQ1 thing, where you had a swimming skill. Then just start all the Half-lings at 1, and everyone else at at least 50 or something. I for one would like swimming underwater. |

Worried about pvp in this game.

Like one of those crazy dust clouds they had in old cartoons when they were fighting? |

Will anyone play a faction other than pirates?
General Discussion « Pirates of the Burning Sea 4/19/07 12:29:24 AM
Personally, I am going to pick whichever faction has the least amount of people. The way I see it is, the more enemies, the more fun!

That might be cool, maybe a yearly tourny or something. I just think it would have to be a pretty small statue, like life size maybe.

You make a good point.
Anyways, I guess you're right. I agree to disagree. :p Also, to get way off topic, it was nice to actually discuss something with someone over the internet, instead of recieving the usual "yer gay, lol" rebuttal. |

I do realize it isn't a word, but both texts I referenced to contain acronyms, and their definitions.

I believe that the list of games on this website, while not all MMORPGs, all belong together on this website. If someone develops a different definition for an MMORPG, it doesn't matter. As far as I can find, there is no creditable definition for an MMORPG, and no, Wikipedia is not a creditable resource. If you are truely concerned that people are going to misenterpret what you think an MMORPG is, then I suggest you write the editors of Enciclopedia Brittanica, or perhaps the fine makers of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. |

I would consider an MMORPG any RPG that is played only on servers provided by the game makers. If players can make their own servers, and use the same characters on their server, as they do on an official server, I wouldn't count it. But anyways, I don't see what the problem is with having games that aren't necessarily MMORPGs on this website though. It's not like really does anything to effect us in any way. Unless you're some petty jerk with lots of time on his hands...

View of SWG population and current gameplay
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 4/13/07 1:28:44 AM
I played SWG at launch, and it had to be my favorite MMORPG of all time. For whatever reasons though, I quit. Then about a month ago I decided to give the new version a shot, despite all I had heard. In my opinion, they basically turned their game into every other MMORPG, painted to look like Star Wars.
Not only that, but as said before, there is hardly anyone around anymore, despite what this guy tells you. One of the most annoying parts about that I found was, not that there was no one to play with, but, that even though there were no people around, once you got outside the city, the ground is coated with Player Housing. Every single space available, there is something there. I went as far as 10k out, and still the ground was littered with buildings. I was really confused as to where they came from, seeing as how there was no one around. Anyways, they ruined there game when they decided to make those changes, and I am not going to keep paying for a game that doesn't care about its community. If they ever for some reason decide to change it back, I would definately resubscribe, but until then, I'll play something else. |

That was a satisfyingly thorough survey :)
Hope it goes to good use too, and of course that you get a good grade on it. |

Lots of people have been complaining about this game not running well on their PC. So I wanted to get an idea of what people are running, and how the game runs on it. So, if you play this game, please take a second to leave your Specs and a little bit about how the game runs on your PC. |

I don't get what you people are complaining about. My old comp runs this game fine. I am just about at the recommended settings. I do have some trouble with flying, but I don't like to fly much anyways. I would say the biggest problem you're going to see with this game is that your processor is too old. All the people who are complaining probably have old ass computers, and just been upgrading RAM and graphics cards, thinking that is good enough.
If your going to complain about your comp not being able to run this game, put up your specs. Also, my brother's PC runs this game amazingly. It was top of the line about a year ago. So all of you people saying you have awesome comps and still can't run this game are idiots. |
