AoC will have PvP worlds. And you will get a percentage of thier loot as only it's tainted and called "blood money" which is like a PvP currency. PvP will be completely unique with player city vs player city with siege, mounted combat, formation, and actual player skill. what more could you want? if you want completely brutal total item loot-age theres runescape which i dont recomend. but i think the majority of players dont want so much death penalty, so unlucky.

GW nightfall is the best one IMO and GW:EN is just a slight expansion of PvE to keep players distracted whilst they develope GW2. After reading all the FAQ's and watching all the video theres no chance i'll be playing anything other than AoC, i doubt GW2 will offer the next gen stuff AoC. I agree WAR and tabula look good, but uncomparable to AoC. I'll also most probably be playing for 360. Well I really recomend getting nightfall if you love GW and have nothing to play whilst waiting for new games to come out. GL

I've been thinking alot about a pretty traditional fantasy MMO in some ways, but with different style of controlls. At the moment controlling your characters at the moment is more like issueing comands. I wanna see a realistic style of controll used in some games.

For archers I wanna see a FPS style where to hit a target requires more skill than in rpgs and even gun fps because of the slower speed of projectile, arc and dip- pherhaps even wind. The only games I can think of which are slightly simular are using your bow on zelda, and a phoenix crossbow on nightfire (try killing with this long distance its fun). I know there are FPS MMO's on the way but they dont have other classes, in FPS games so far the only style is FPS. I want a variety of bows/ cross bows and even hand thrown weapons, and different arrows/bolts/poisins.

For mele I want to see a upcomining concept of your sword hitting int he direction you swing it. making fighting with mele weapons more like you are doining it and not telling somebody else. This concept is coming to some games i think AoC, elveon. I'd want to see different types of armour which gives realistic protection and movement with a range of different mele weapons for different occasion and different warrioir stances.

For magic I want to make this also more challenging my remembering combinations to weave your spells making it more difficult to cast and require more real skill. This is also realistic cause if you are attacked in game you are likely to get interupted in real life and mess up your weaving. very slightly like punching in combos for a special move in tony hawks. I think that there'd prolly be a spell book you can read off but to be proffesional at this class you'd need to be able to recall your spells and punch them in fast. With spells i'd want to see a veriety of effects and less focus on pure damage.

With all these new styles on controlling the way you fight it will make the game way more interesting and appeal to a wider range of people and basically just be a large advance in the style of the game. The game i hope would be more PvP based, but not exclusively it should still have traditional stuff like quests, towns etc. I'd want a large variety of styles of PvP and battlegrounds/arena's. That's basically just the vague desciption of the style of play in my dream MMO, it'd still need a brilliant storyline etc to be a success, and man it'd be hard to produce. enjoy.

Perhaps it is good news for you but you're largely describing Age of Conan with the FPS archery, directional melee combat and magic system.

I realised that after researching AoC after this post. So AoC has all my dream features done better than I could imagine, In my dreams there wasn't a priest class, but still you can understand my excitement for AoC.
I read about it in PC gamer mag it looks pretty sweet. I think trading/guilds are an asssest which make games MMO-ish which guidwars had, and idk about this.
I struggle finding any exact infomation on the internet. I search google/wiki,  try offical sites, read game reviews, read forums ask people. But sometimes its just impossible to find stuff ont he internet, info overload and google is great but overated (not like theres anything better)

AoC is MY next big thing because of all of the innovations it is bringing to the table. "Next Big Thing" shouldn't be judged by number of users but rather by how far a game pushes the genre.  I'm lucky to have had my 5 year old computer finally crap out on me which gives me a rather solid excuse to build a new system for this game. Timing couldn't possibly be better!

Thats my situation, but xbox 360 or PC? i doubt i can afford a pc which runs the game as good as 360.

Now that, I would like to see. Develop cyberspace into a real world. When you pay for hosting, you actually see a plot of land on which you will build your site/building. Turn the entire internet into a large MMOG, with real shops like the Amazon bookstore and the E-Bay auction house.

Log in with VR glasses and have tactile feedback gloves. Design your personal imaeg depending on the "neighborhood" you were in. I'd be all for it!

...though I am reminded of Dave Chapelles skit on "If the internet were a real place." Nasty ghetto.

Still, I personally think that cyberspace should be declared its own territory. Elect a government of members from all countries, establish net-wide laws and taxes (instead of it being different based on where the item you buy is coming from). Maybe I should start a thread about that somewhere.

Dude there a futurama sketch of that. to buy stuff ont he internet you inter the vitrual reality and walk to the shops and stuff, but have to defend yourself from the monsters which are the advertisments.  there porlly will be something liek this in far far future, cause even when we do get the technology it will be much longer until its commercial, trust.
moving between the several very large areas(i thinkt here's like 10) will envolve like a cut scene of you taking a boat, a wagon, camel ect. it'll all be sweet
AoC.

I reckon hardcore gamesworkshop fans will be on WAR, sci-fi fans will be on tabula rasa, people addicted to WoW still on WoW and virtually everybody else on AoC in the future. If AoC has the addiction factor WoW has i'm sure it can beat thier 8Mil player base, also since 360 players will be on it also. We need to wait for the AoC comunity to develope first, it hopefully should be more mature.

WATCH THIS: http://uk.media.pc.ign.com/media/743/743392/vid_1513724.html

this video is abit long and not the best made. But still its like 20 minutes going through gameplay in AoC which shows some really awesoem features which you cannot understand well when somebody types them. Shame it doesn't cover any of the large amount fo magic in the game. i'm gona go and contain my excitement.

I just don't like hackers full stop. they cause so much damage and suffering, i think something really serious should be done cause its getting above the law.

I think this thread has a misleading name, it should be "which next MMO do you think will change the genre".

But anyway first i'd like to say that tabula rasa does look very good from the little i've seen. and WAR also looks very good, and pherhaps will be better than WoW but realistically even if it is it will never do anything radical for the genre. Whereas if you watch footage of the gameplay in AoC and read the slightly lengthy FAQ i'm sure you'd agree this is where its at.  I never knew conan was more than a kiddy tv cartoon till recently so my bias has nothing to do with the fact thats its conan. But they are doing so many unique things with this game that i have wanted for a long time. they'res nothing bad or missing in this game, its gona do everthing previous mmo's does only a heck of a lot more. I really am so hyped about this game, once I read/saw all the info on it. I don't think tabula rasa will stand a chance much vs AoC simply because of firing guns out of FPS mode which AoC has for range. also AoC will be the best graphiced MMO until others come out.

This is looks like a great game!!! Cant wait!!

It's gona make all other games look like chess.  dam it looks good.

" It is based on zones, but these zones can be quite big in size – often up to several kilometers in both length and width. We're using zones because we want to create such a detailed world that it would be technologically unfeasible to do it seamlessly. This, however, will in no way detract from the feeling of being in a massive, persistent game world. Age of Conan is, after all, an MMO. "

thats from 14.0 gameworld on the faq on the website. the faq actually aswers everthing, except whether we get player owned brothels.

Archery and mele look like the best thing since sliced bread, but i haven't seen any of the magic side.

I'm undecided on a cheap pc which runs WoW or rpg's on 360. But after watching videos of gameplay I must play this game.

i'm probably gona read the conan books so I understand the world abit more.

I hope its still just as enjoyable for people who until now thought conan was a lame childs cartoon about a man with a big sword fighting "skeletor". Anyhow this looks fun, and i want to shed some blood. Its practically the sole reason I can't decide between buying a new PC or xbox 360. I hope my mom lets me play
It's like one of those crummy film/televison show games that come out on ps2 which a few people buy since the film came out and play for a few hours, only its an MMO. Its vandalism to the MMO genre IMO. Although I think a pirate MMO could be pulled off, this looks really tird.

I mean game where main point is to create and survey, not fight against anyone. Colonization of new earth after it's totally destroyed or You are send in space to unknow planet, where You need to survey.
